Thank you so much for this! It gave me the confidence to fix mine and it’s running perfectly now. I have the RV750N... for that model there’s a third screw you have to remove to get to the motor and it’s UNDER the motherboard, so you have to take that totally out (versus just loosening). And the belt size for the 750N is 132-2GT. Hope that helps others!!
the original belt that he takes off is a 132 length-2GT-4 wide, he changes that to 130 length and 6mm Wide for a stronger grip and less play. go with the 130-2GT-6
Did the trick for squealing. Hair around the roller ball was hard to spot until I put on reading glasses. Also, the ball does pull off of the shaft which makes removing the hair much easier. Once I removed the ball (and the hair) I oiled both the shaft and the ball. Running like a champ at this very moment. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much!! That squealing was driving me crazy . Didn't realize the end of the roller had the rubber cap on it - thought it was just the moulded plastic end of the roller bar. Cleaned out all the dog hair, a quick spritz of lubricant and away we go!!
Thank you so much~ bought the suggested belt and it is humming along beautifully! You are so clear and concise it was easy - but I should have bought the belt before I took it apart...... it was left a few days and I forgot a bit, but rewinding and playing forward did the trick~ Cindy
Dave Jackson at the end of video U show a screen shot of the belt from Amazon.. i didn’t make the video clip long enough so it flashes on screen pretty quick
I called Shark and could not get a spec on the belt, a part #, nor order the belt itself from the OEM. I can't buy a new motor or new unit every time it picks up a sock. you have saved me much grief, time and money with this fix. A better belt and a better machine Has your motor held up with the stronger tighter belt?
I've got an RV700 Shark Ion. I replaced the stock belt with 130-2GT-6 and I couldn't spin it by hand when I put the belt cover back on. You said, "You can't make it turn." and I'm wondering if it's quiet now for you because the brush is no longer spinning. I didn't risk burning out the motor and put the stock belt back on. Mine was squeaking, not clicking, so the belt probably wasn't my problem. Anyone else not able to turn theirs by hand after replacing it?
Here's one for ya. I started having main brush roller issues after owning this robot for about 1yr and 3 months. In the end, by hooking a multimeter to the contacts on the main brush roller motor and watching the robot clean, it would receive a consistant 9V when it was working. However when the robot goes over a section of very low pile carpet (like a door mat), the voltages would fluctuate wildly then eventually go to 0 and roller would stop altogether. I've already replaced the main roller motor and that didn't work. Since the supplied voltage to the motor drops to 0V, i'm guessing it's the main motherboard? There's really no forums or anywhere to discuss problems like this so i'm posting it here. Considering parting the robot out altogether since I called Shark and all they could offer was a discount on a new one lmao. Help anyone?
Mine has run everyday for 3 years no probs. Cleaned like this video said and prob good for another 3 years. Yours prob has a loose nut between the steering wheel and the seat

Where did you buy the belt from?
Wow, that's a lot of work to replace a belt but, this video was most helpful and you were very detailed. Thank you so much for posting.
Great Thanks!
I just had to look for "2gt timing belt width 6mm and length 130mm". Should be under $2
thanks again!

John ZUTY I’m on the hunt for a NEW main roller motor as we speak! Let me know if you find a NEW replacement and I’ll do the same!
What a terrible design. Mine started squealing after 48rs. Not dealing with cheap junk
