Why do people make comments about your water being dirty and the mess outside. The work you have both done is amazing I don’t know how you do it. I would love to do what you are both doing, you are both very brave and resourceful.
I haven’t owned a dishwasher in 30 years. Doing dishes is not that hard (when you have a sink and drain) and I feel I use less water than a dishwasher uses. I even save recyclables and wash them in the dirty dishwater after all dishes washed. I start with one inch hot water (I run tap into a watering can to use that water until tap runs hot) and let the tap run very slow so I wash one dish at a time and rinse into the sink. By the time I am done I may have 1/2- 1 sink of water used for all my dishes.
It looked like it was time to call in the plumberologist. Nice fix for the vented line to the sink. The stools will make dinner at the kitchen counter much more like at home.
ITS SO AWESOME TO SEE YOU YOUNGSTERS GET TO THAT POINT. IN ALL THE HOMES IVE BUILT WITH MY POPS, THAT WAS ALWAYS THE MOST SATISFACTORY PART. SEALED IN AND POWER ON. AND I KNOW ALL ABOUT THE LITTLE ELECTRIC BOOBOOS , I DID ALL THE GARAGE AND POWER POLE FOR MY POP, SO ITS ALL GOOD. THATS WHY USING BREAKERS ARE AWESOME! THE MORE SOLO CIRSUITS ARE BEST, ONLY DAISYCHAIN A FEW LIGHTS OR OUTLETS. YUPS ON THE WATER, A BURKEE SYSTEM, OR UV SYSTEM WILL BE PERFECT. THE INDIANS LIVED OFF MOUNTAIN WATER FOR EVER!
You two are so inspiring and complement each other so well. Bless you. I went through such a build 50 years ago. You are building memories. As for GFCI, I believe the refrig is supposed to be on GFCI but a false trip (or anything trip on that circuit) can spoil the food; I took it off GFCI and just grounded it! At least give it its own breaker. I did love that "I told you so" near the end. Wish I had listened better years ago.
Great sponsor giveaway- even if you aren't really interested, the extra internet traffic and subscribes to the TH-cam site and newsletter really helps support Greg and Katie. Costs nothing and unsubscribing is super simple
I love the animals having fun in the open boxes. I have two dogs, 3 inside cats and 3 outside cats on the property. Hawaii is good, much Aloha two you both and your doing a fine job everywhere.
A little tip, if u are going to install wood flooring, get some rubber stoppers for the legs of the stools. otherwise, good job on the plumbing. Cats always like a box to play and hide-in..
Helpful hint (hopefully) on getting wire in conduit. Tear a small piece off a plastic bag (size to fit conduit you are working with), tie the end of masons string on the plastic, stuff it into the end of the conduit, go to the other end suck the "mouse" through the conduit with a shop vac. It saves lots of frustration trying to "stuff" the wire into the conduit. Keep on truckin', guys, y'all are doing great!
Congratulations getting your sink installed. I’m sure it’s a big weight off your shoulders. Now on to conquering other major tasks at the homestead. Good luck,& stay safe. Onward,& upward.👍🏾💜🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
Its been an amazing series of videos from you guys this summer, watching you put the 'utilities' into the house has been so exciting! We are looking to transition to our off grid cabin property here in Northern BC and you two have inspired us to start our own channel. Thank you for hours of entertainment and inspiration! PS love those countertops!
Yaaaayyyy!!! No more bus living!!! Now that you are in the house, can you even believe how long you toughed it out in the bus!!! Looks fantastic!! All over the COVID? Enjoy your Winter 🎄❄️
I was just thinking. Which is dangerous but whatever. Put on Gregs list some electric under the house in the crawlspace so it's easier to see. Maybe a light switch inside under the stairs you can turn on when you go out there
I have subscribed and been binge watching all your past videos and still have 40 to watch to catch up to this video. This was a fun look ahead for me to see in the house. I really enjoy your content.
Katie Im so pleased you addressed the issue of the scammers, I was caught out by them and lost £161 so now every time I get a message on one I report them. Your electrical system looks so complicated so very well done Gregg for figuring it out. x
We have north facing windows in our barndominium so we live in Wyoming so I wanted the interior of our house part of the shop to look like it's been there for 100 years I love rustic so all our light fixtures look like old shop lights with the gooseneck on them and board and batton walls we put corrugated tin on the lower part so just like your refletix it bounces light all over the room...and I agree your water source is pretty safe,I know a Dr. Who had a cabin in the north woods of Minnesota and his water came straight out of the lake for years he never had a problem . We always use our Berkey for drinking and cooking
Good job Katie on your sink fitting the tap !! Nice smile always brings me back to watch your channel, super to hear about the giveaway l hope it goes to someone who's also a good off grid person. Your partner is a real hands on person and knows his stuff God job too have a good day good luck with your next challenges. Look forward to seeing all.
If you have a way to put a vent in the floor to blow heat under the house for the water lines and also help keep the floor warmer for walking on in those cold winter snaps! Just an idea..
Hello folks, I haven’t been here for a while, but I can see the progress you guys have made, and you guys rock! Congratulations for the accomplishments❤
I don't know how many guys caught it, women almost always do though.... Greg said; Its not very romantic! So proud of you for that Greg as your going with your heart on your sleeve to make sure Katie feels loved. No chairs or even a bed, would of been nice but the having each other is the optimum in any relationship. Yes I know that you have a bed and some chairs... I'm just making the point that love is the key to a happy home. Its spreading as well as I love the two of you greatly
I am so glad to see you put the wire in the conduit first. I see so many people dig a trench, put in conduit that is way too small with many turns including 90s , bury the conduit then try to fish wire 150'.
We covered the dirt under our house with vapour barrier to stop the damp from rising. Our plumbing comes in an insulated box but the drain to the septic are always ok.
Cool giveaway was looking at plots in that area 18 years ago to old now At 61 to do it but ax a dream . Would love to hear how many entries you get as well as the winner . Maybe a short vid call of the winner to share their dream for the land
Look up the @fincalife channel, Andy installed a 3 water filter system, filtering out progressively smaller particles, and a separate in line UV water purification filter. They collect rain water from the roof
I’m so happy I found your channel! You have the solar set up I am looking into. Unfortunately I’m not as “smart” as you both so I have to learn slow. I’m also disabled so it makes it a bit harder to remember things since I have chronic insomnia.😴 Thank you for being transparent about personal info with the land give away and will not be asked for. I’ve had an issue with someone hacking me and that made things a real pain in the butt. I did sign up for the land “give away” and I sent some questions too. I used to have a real estate license and did loans as well. Then I got into new construction with a big, privately owned company. I learned a lot but no one can ever know enough. Love your channel!👍❤ I was so excited watching you guys turn on the power!🤗 Where are you guys located? Just generally, no address.😂 I may find that info once I watch all your videos!🤔 I will be binge watching over the holidays for sure! Merry Christmas! 🙏🏻💕⛄️
Hello Katie and Greg. I would not have mentioned it, but since you did, why not get some water purification tablets and video throwing them in the cistern when you fill it, if you show it, to calm the nerves of the folks that have miserable lives and want to bring others into their world? Greg, with all that you have built, you could have made some temporary counter stools, but these look nice. Have good days!
Hey getting there one thing at a time. Funny how we all take things for graited. Some times it the simple thing we miss. Keep up the good work. Katey is a big help not too many woman can do what she does. Lucky man . Stay safe keep up the good work.
Good morning you guys hope you guys are doing okay hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving glad you got your water now you got to get electricity and all that other stuff and all right have a great day make sure you guys pick up all the garbage on the outside that way you guys are stumbling all over everything all right God bless you guys see you later
So proud of you guys and what you accomplished in short space of time. Considering all the challenges you have faced and you overcame them. You guys Rock!!! Greetings from South Africa have a great one.
This is Frank for hillbilly frank's you guys do a heck of a job and enjoy watching your videos my wife says I'm a TH-cam freak but I just love watching keep the good work up have a good
It’s HOT IN ARIZONA for some I’m sure that’s fine I just don’t happen to be one I spoil way to fast in the heat 😂…. I can only image how nice it is to have room to move now that your staying in the house so YAY for you
Great video! Just a note about the dirt under your house…. We live in your area and had the same set-up; we tested for radon and it was very HIGH (all of the area is) so we had to insulate under the house by putting thick plastic over the ground and install in a fan to vent the radon outside.
Hi from UK. Is there a reason you have not done the out side of your house, it looks stunning inside coming on great, love to you both and the animals .
Hallo Why don't you sue three fuse boxes for the power One for the first floor, the second for the ground floor and the third for kitchen. From each box only one main line goes to the central box, to the main power line from outside ?
we have a problem with living where we are in Hawaii, the volcano is erupting and causing drama with the national news who is making it much worse than it is. It's going off at the 10,000 foot level and coming down between the two volcano's on this Island, no property is at risk so far and it's miles away from Hilo on the coast. The fisher is sending out lava like mad but it's just slowing down and spreading out as it get's ready to cover the saddle road ( new road) and the plan is to open the old road for traffic but we will have to see if that will work or will it get covered too.
Like the old Jefferson sitcom, you are moving on up. Every week things are coming together more and more. One day soon you will be sitting back and enjoying the view and will say we are done. Great job guys. Love your videos.
@@ThisOffGridLife they have some real of grid friendly zoning. texASS if you have 10acres there are no codes not even septic. And I got a idea for a solar aided compost system that can take both gray and black water .

Buttoning up the final touches is so rewarding
It’s the little things, like being able to sit next to each other at dinner!

Greg you need the 240V for welding metal, or electric Heaters along the wall below the windows. Most Stoves need 240V or 220V
It looked like it was time to call in the plumberologist. Nice fix for the vented line to the sink. The stools will make dinner at the kitchen counter much more like at home.
Might get sewer gas in the right side sink, it's not trapped.
