Oh yeah, metal and rock fans are very accepting generally of anyone who is new to the genre. Different races, religions, backgrounds, etc they dont care, they just want to share the music with them.
I remember an interview with Metallica where it was brought up that some said they sold out. Metallica's response? "Yup, we still sell out every show we do". Sold out concerts, number one albums, number one songs, etc.. But back to the sellout thing. People called them sellouts when they did "fade to black" because it was more of a ballad. People called them sellouts when they cut their hair. The reality is they weren't 20 and 30 somethings anymore and were losing their hair, so they cut it. Some ppl just expect bands to do different versions of the same songs their whole career. And when they don't, they call them sell outs. Some ppl wanted every Metallica song and album to be along the same lines as Master of Puppets, and when it wasn't, they weren't fans anymore. Then you have others who were never fans until the song "Enter Sandman" came out. There they picked up a whole new fan base. For me, Metallica has gotten me through some really bad times. They've been my favorite band since I was 14 (I'm 49 now) and they will always remain my favorite. Keep rockin' ladies! \m/

I've seen Metallica with each of their 3 bass players. The 2nd time I got to meet them. My friend camped out for tickets (so you know that was a long time ago, before everyone bought online.) We had front row center. When the lights went off after they did their set, waiting for their encore, a guy came out and gave EVERYONE in the front row backstage passes. They were already HUGE, but they were so nice, especially Lars, who the staff of the venue had to tell him to leave because the stage was down and gone and there were about 8 of us, talking to Lars, just hanging out. No one was binge drinking...everyone was so chill. Great experience

Yep, being in that crowd looks like it was a lot of fun but most metal shows are like that. It's like being part of a great big family event and everyone is there for the same reason - to enjoy some really great songs. And you're never too late to take in a metal show. I know the COVID-19 pandemic has put a stop to a lot of things like that but hopefully one day, concerts will be allowed again.

I'm going to request that you ladies listen to Gojira. You can't go wrong with any song, but the biggest reactions would come from "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe", " Flying Whales", or " Oroborus ". Those are all great choices. Gojira is a French band who are big into the environment, which comes through their music. I really admire those guys.

It wound his nice long hair up in it and a crew member had to cut it out of his hair. He came back on stage with a bald spot on his head. 🤦♂️

I would love to go to a Metallica concert as well. The drummer is actually the founder and owner of the band. He was actually a professional tennis player when he was a teenager from Denmark. That's what brought him to the states. After attending a rock concert with his brother, he decided to focus on music for a career instead.
The concept of selling out should just die out in general. Most bands who put out the exact same style time and time again fizzle out after a few years, because without evolution, they become stagnant. Personally, I'm not a fan of Metallica since St. Anger, but I can still respect them as musicians. I don't get the hate they get.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Metallica since St. Anger, but I can still respect them as musicians. I don't get the hate they get.
Yeah the later albums still suck hard though

Hello and Happy New Year to you both, My humble recommendation is for you ladies to watch and enjoy the Metallica concert that they done a few years back in Antarctica which put them in the Guinness World Records book for being the first band to play on all the continents, I am certain you will be amazed and get chills from the concert and I bet you will smile the whole time watching it as I still do :-)
