Artifacts in Stalker are items that you find out in the Zone - much like in Radius - that confer various benefits. Unlike in Radius, however, where some are useful and others are just good for selling... well, it's kind of the same there, haha. Each artifact has a positive and (usually) a negative effect, so the trick with them is to counter-balance them to create a 'build'. Radius 2 will be adding a similar system at some point; they are looking to have where you can equip three of them for passive effects, and you will use the ash to upgrade them. (I think) the artifacts that they added in this mod are Ball, Ring, Thistle and Black Spray. Whenever I get through the Mist/Scavenger I debated doing the actual Stalker mod, but that's on a whoooole other level...
Don't remember STALKER lore, But wish ITR artifacts did do more like with the STALKER games. Some had more health, bullet resistance, rad absorption, healing regen. Z.O.N.A has some of that.
