Alexis Outdoors haha! Thanks! I personally prefer to be behind the camera but sometimes I have to take one for the team in order to get some work done around here 😉
Hé Tori comment allez.vous?...bandeau cadeau et mugs avec le poêle..sympa! Superbes vidéo et lieu de vie..j'adore.. bonne continuation la petite famille...Jim s'adonne à sa passion !... amitié 🙂
You're so lucky to have that River in your backyard. I love winter paddling in my kayak. Everything looks completely different than the summer months and I bump into fewer people. I live just outside of Boston and have racked up about 300 miles since the end of September. My rule of thumb is dress for the swim, not for the paddle.
Tories- I loved that you opened the carton with an axe! "I am Woman, hear me roar!" Jim I freaked that you were wearing what looked like a fleece hoody- not realizing that you were staying mere steps from your back yard and Tori was right there! You know what you are doing! 😂🏕🛶 Awesome.
It was a little scarier eddying-in though! That’s why we edited out the full front ferry shot. Because Tori was scared and the shot wash shaky. Haha. I commented on that too, the opening of the box with an axe. She is so cool
Thanks, I think it was meant to be for me. I’d paddled right past here exploring this rover before I ever lived here. If at that time I knew I would eventually live here I probably would have cried happy tears.
Hey Tori nice stove I´d like one in my Moskoseltipi Nice paddling but I would like to see you Tori to do that. If you paddel like you chop firewood... Hope you have a plan to keep Wesley from that water before he can swim. Thanks for a little family teaser. Hello from Skandinavia
That is so awesome you can just paddle around in that stretch of river right in front of your place, without getting swept down river. Fun stuff! Tori set up that stove like a Boss and I especially loved how she opened it JB style... With an AX!!!! Cheers you guys! Hi Wesley!!!
Glad to see Tori was there filming you just in case something happened and you needed to be rescued I have no doubt she could of got you out of there ! Stay safe Jim Love the Channel looking forward to Spring 👍🇺🇲 Earl
I'm in SoCal in the L.A. area, so I guess in Canada it's pretty common for women open boxes with an axe out in the snow next to a river, an then build a fire, yeah, I grew up in the wrong place.
Loved opening the box with an axe! Stove looks great and you will have a great time with it! So ready for Spring and videos to come! Your area looks great and the canoe sample screams warmer weather!
not gonna lie bro i didn't watch the last thing you put out because buck dying is still too sad for me. in a few months when i'm bored looking for something to watch youtube will recommend it and i'll check it out then. same thing happened with joe robinet when scout died lol i had to check out for a couple months. anyway, pumped to get back into the wild world of baird. keep living the dream!
I don’t blame you at all man. It’s hard for me to edit it and read the comments but butter sweet at the same time too. Thanks a lot for the support and for watching when you do!
Thanks Toni for the video of the most efficient way to open a cardboard box. I'm not sure that even jim can sell this as a new form of winter travel. Thanks Brian 79
Beautiful spot where you folks live in the north, Torie your the best , nice stove for your tent shall be nice to see a video of you folks and the babe out in the tent with the stove , Bet it felt good for you to be out in the canoe on that fine winter day lol, nice , Spring will soon be here , nice video folks
The water always sounds a little different in the winter. It’s cold so has tighter surface tension and thus less gurgling sound. Always love your vids. Thx.
What a Beautiful place to have a home! You and Tori rock, and so does Wesley! I can't get enough of your videos brother! (I am definitely going to buy some "Buck Accessories soon!) ( Most likely the Buck Hoodie!)
My favorite kind of rapid, you can just recycle it all day. I am fortunate to have daily access to this type of rapid. The water seldom freezes so I enjoy similar winter rides frequently where the only colors I see are shades of snow and moving water.
Another great vid man. I can't wait to get back on the water ! Finally able to go ice fishing this week end. That stove u guys have would definitely heat my hut !! Keep the great vids coming.
That canoe seems to fight the current really well. You seemed to have no problem going upstream. Hope to see the stove in action, I’m going camping in a day or so 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️🛷⛺️
Just got caught up your Baffin Island trip. I really dig your tent and the new stove set up. I have a "Tipi" and box stove from a company called Kifaru for my winter camping. It does the job for me. Sorry to hear about Buck.
Is, it’s a beaut. The material is called “Blue Steel” and the gunwales are ash the hill design is a generic one called the “Prospector” basically a copy of the indigenous bark canoes of the Northeast
I like the concept of the bun warmers/boot driers on the side of that stove. I don't think I've seen that before. The stove must be steel because of the preservative that had t be burned off. I think it would be best in titanium as many of the tent stoves are these days. Jim in the canoe, what could be better?!
Jim Baird - Adventurer the oven is an add on that does work in my little teepee tent as the ceiling tent Jack is just too low... I just have one of the Smokey hut style tents... good for one ... two in a pinch with enough head space to sit in on the ground.
Right. My wife has forbidden me from kayaking in January. Something about spilling, hypothermia and death. So. Yours films your paddle. . Best wishes from the Allegheny River in Northwestern Pennsylvania
Jim let me get this straight, beautiful wife, healthy baby, fantastic home in a great location, your life is an adventure, you are athletic and in good shape, live in Canada. Congratulations on your current success, can you bottle some of that and mail some to me.
I think that is the same knico stove I have been running in my seek outside 8p tipi. Wish I had been more diligent in putting wd40 and pam cooking oil on the inside on it when it sits for the summer, surface rust comes on quick. I'm not a fan of the spark arrestor.
Nate we finally got to use the stove this weekend but we ended up removing the spark arrester after night 1, it kept getting clogged and smoking us out, but once it was removed it worked like a dream!
Ya, it’s is chilly for sure! I just played around in the current at the base of them. I’d want to be wearing s drysuit for any real whitewater running in this weather!
Enjoyed the video. At first it appeared you were taking your new blue steel canoe down the river and I didn't think it was suitable for that kind of use? (I am considering a purchase myself) But then you stayed in relatively flat water which made sense considering the weather.
You have a beautiful sight for your home With the river so close by. Nice stove and looks like you enjoyed the canoe paddle. How did you have the camera in the middle of the river?? It always amazes me how you guys do your video taping ... You do a lot of retrieval and replacement of those cameras.. Do you use more than one camera?
For what I used it for, long backcountry trips with lots of portaging class 1 rapids (and the odd 2), particularly for a larger person like me, 10 out of 10 easy. You can see me put it to some hard use in my two Algonquin Trout fishing videos
@@JimBairdAdventurer that's awesome. I will check out the video. The canoe looks absolutely gorgeous! How does it respond in windy conditions on open lakes while you are solo?

Thats a great stove, like the sideboard.
Hello young Jim, it is handy if you and Tori got a chimney oven for baking etc, l got one for my tent it is very handy
That would be great. I know the g-stove has one. We’re using this to heat a 13x15 tent so we’d need one to fit a larger stove pipe
