    Adding Warren makes makes the team legitimately hard to match up with. If you come out in 12, do you stay base or go to nickel? If you go to 13, with Pat, Warren, and Mt Washington, thats really tough because all 3 are capable pass catchers and you really have to respect the beef when it comes to running and even QB designed runs. I am not saying move up, but if Warren is there at 21, you take him. He can contribute with designed runs as well making other teams play 11 on 11. He is a pass catcher as well, so although its not WR, like Matt said, hes going to line up in slot a lot.

  • @austindufour
    @austindufour 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Hey Dale, appreciate how yinz have a realistic approach to the offseason. How do you think the Steelers address slot CB heading towards next season? Couldn’t help but notice how that area was routinely picked on between Sutton and Beanie. Is the answer on the roster, in the draft, or free agency? Could the Steelers resign Jackson to try and convert him from outside to the slot? Do they go after a safety-CB hybrid type? Thanks in advance- keep up the good work… and stay warm out there!

    • @dalelolley4100
      @dalelolley4100 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      That is why we have taken slot safety types in some of our mock drafts. I think ideally, they would like to have a bigger body there to help in the run game and blitz. Bishop is fine as a coverage guy, but he's a little undersized in the run game. They also could sign a veteran to fill that role, such as Byron Murphy who can play outside when two corners are on the field and bump inside on passing downs ala. Marlon Humphrey.

    Nice to see the Ravens go down. all we heard all week was its a bad matchup. But when you have an actual coaching staff, they adjust. They don't go out and get run on for 299 yards. They actually give a crap and refuse to get embarrassed. Buffalo has pride and a staff that will not get embarrassed. Might lose, but not embarrassed. Look at the Commanders. They got better, and better, and better every week. Jayden Daniels got better and better every week. That's cause they have a coaching staff. The Steelers?? Worse and worse and worse and now go into 2025 losers of five in a row and got embarrassed on national TV all five games. All five. Facts hurt.

Sid is top 3 all time in his entire sport. Russ isnt too old to still play slightly above average, but he's certainly not getting us out of purgatory with his aging arm and legs.

    Adding Warren as an H back/flex TE would be interesting and is on my wish list. Pair him with Fields and fast RB tandem then adjust your scheme and run a Dolphins style attack. Washington is not a threat to run a route beyond 5 yards and this scheme needs two good pass catching TE's. Putting T Warren, Muth, and Wash on the field at the same time could work if Fields could run it well

    The Steelers still will put the same product on the field next season and beyond until they hire an experienced OL, DC, OC, and even HC. Stop hiring Tomlin’s friends or poor choices. Tomlin was gifted Coach Cowher’s team which is why he won a Super Bowl. Our schemes are not creative and opposing teams out scheme and out coach us in December and in the playoffs. 1 and done again if we even make the playoffs. Colberts draft picks didn’t pan out( most of them) and not having a franchise QB hurts.

    • @xx1CRU
      @xx1CRU 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @stanrock8015 I understand that. And as respectfully as I can, I disagree. The offense that Arthur Smith wants to run needs specific things that the Steelers don't have right now. He needs a top tier O-Line, which according to former O-Lineman, can take as much as 3 years before they truly learn to play together and are at a point where you can actually have an idea of whether they are a good O-Line or not. We are in year one, and that is not factoring in the fact that 2 of them are rookies. They need serious help at WR. They need a more dynamic RB that is capable of being a homerun hitter type speed. I don't think that they have the roster to compete with the elite QB's without an elite QB of their own. I'm not saying they couldn't win a game against one of them. But to run the gauntlet you will have to run on the way to a Super Bowl- Lamar, Allen, Burrow, Mahomes.. and beat them in consecutive games? You either need an elite QB or a stacked roster that can make up for just having a good QB. And even with an elite QB, you are going to need a pretty damn good roster. Especially when you are running the Arthur Smith offense. It isn't the most creative and deceptive offense. So you need to have players that can be dominant. Obviously, I'm not an NFL coach, scout, GM, etc.. So I could absolutely be wrong. This is just my opinion. They could be closer than I think and you could be right. That is just how I feel about the roster. I could go further with coaching decisions.. and I'm not even talking about firing Tomlin or anything. But regardless, we both want them to win and these conversations are what the off-season are all about😅.. 🫡✌️

      @SamsP.O.V-hd7rb 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I agree Russ should walk! This way you will see he wasn't the issue. Justin should be the starter to please the fan base. However, don't call for Tomlin's head next year.

    • @xx1CRU
      @xx1CRU 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @SamsP.O.V-hd7rb Just for the record, I've never been in the "Fire Tomlin" camp. I have criticisms for Tomlin, but I'm not part of the Fire Tomlin cult. Some have legitimate reasons they would like to see him go, but there is a group that has been on the fire Tomlin train since he was hired.. I don't get those people. But I think Russ has limitations, on top of his mobility decline with age, that keep him from being the REASON a team wins a Super Bowl. If he has an elite O-Line, at least a 1A and 1B WR's, a great TE, a dynamic RB, and an innovative and creative OC Russ could win a SB. I just don't think he is the force multiplier like he used to be when he was younger in Seattle. I also don't think Fields is that guy either. But if we aren't going to win a Super Bowl, I would rather go with Fields for $10-$15M/yr for 2 years instead of $30M+/yr for 2 or 3 years for Russ. We need to have our focus on whatever it is going to take to get the next franchise QB in the 2026 draft or beyond. The 2025 draft is not the year to get that QB. So, in my opinion, and that is all this is, MY OPINION, 2025 is almost a lost year already🤷‍♂️ I don't think it matters who we have at QB, Russ or Fields. So I would just go with the younger and cheaper option to hopefully use that money to build up the offense around him. I apologize for the super long reply😅 And if you read it, I truly appreciate you🫡✌️

    So who's throwing a pile of excuses now? Using data to support "reasons" is still an excuse Dale, nice try though. Talent has been improved at least the last 2 or 3 years but the results of the improvements have stayed the same. Obviously coaching sucks, that's not an excuse, just a fact.
    Russell I originally thought would be a good signing @ 3 year 110-115 million. His losses were, to me, very telling. He is very limited at throwing between the numbers and his escape ability @ 37 this year will certainly not get any better, just worse. That will be very important considering how long he hangs onto the ball. I'm not in favor of bringing him back unless it's super cheap.

    Wilson was atrocious in the first game against the ravens and absolutely did not outplay Lamar Jackson. Unless having less yards, less touchdowns than the other guy and an int in the end zone when all you needed was a field goal to go up 8 is outplaying someone (it isn’t). Outside the 2 dump offs to Wash and Najee, he averaged less than 5 yards per attempt. That’s horrendous
    And he was mediocre at best in the commies game outside of that throw to Williams. 50% comp percentage less than 200 yards, and a gimme touchdown after a muffed punt. 7 drives in which they gained less than 30 yards.

    • @andref9663
      @andref9663 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      They scored 28 points against the Commanders. That includes a fumble at the 1 yard line from Warren, and a fake punt that gave the Commanders easy points. You must be a Justin Fields fan if you think Russ was mediocre in that game. Scoring 28 points against a team that was undefeated at home is good quarterback play. Against the Ravens he moved the ball really well, just didn't cash in on the red zone.

    • @jw8695
      @jw8695 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ a fake punt has nothing to do with the qb play, that’s silly. He was mediocre. He had a 50% completion% for less than 200 yards and one of his touchdowns came after a muffed punt at the 15. All to go along with another int. If you think that’s good qb play you don’t know what good qb play is. Outside the throw to Williams he had 160 passing yards in 55 minutes of play. Fields has nothing to do with Wilson’s poor play. Another stupid comment lmao
