Asa mentioned in their fanmeet that they want to be with us Forever, many parts of this song seems to tell haters, like it or not, they are here to stay. And the group will pretty much be a multi-genres group simply because they are capable of that. Ahyeon said b4 that she doesn't want to be stuck in one genre.

This is a hit for sure, video is so good. These girls can dominate any concept. They all look gorgeous as usual.
Asa is crazy rapping, and Chiquita dancing, that's just so entertaining.
They have so many catchy parts in this song. They sing awesome and the raps are their best yet IMO. All 7 killed it.
The ending beat was also at the beginning part with Ruka. And it runs in the first verse too, way back. It's a loop. She rings the doorbell in the beginning and then you hear it in the end when the girls wake up and they run to the door.
This is my favorite song from them so far! Since the song is around 3.5 mins, they all can shine! I really can't wait for them to sing this song in a concert, it would be a banger 😍

Yeah! This sound is a 80s or early 90s retro disco feel's. But this one with a modern YG twist majority is happy for this one like for like that. This is going to be great in a concert for sure! Specially in the encore! 🕺🎉

Thanks for your reaction and support of BabyMons7er. People forget and criticize them for high note control, shouting, nasally, health or unhealthy. All the vocalist were, 13-16 years(Babies) old not counting Ruka because is a rapper. Just within one year improving now.

You're one of the best reactors. You have great insight and have nice way of putting things in perspective. Babymonster like you said had very high to unrealistic expectations(imo) that they were always bound to get heavy criticism. But after this pre-release you can really notice the improvements. They're very young still despite being uber talented. I wish people can be more kind and have more patience. Great reaction as always!

This MV beautifully represents a story where all the girls of BM r seen helping Pharita n no matter what happens, girls r their for EO. In Pharita's 1st scene, she is looking at her shadow, which is happy. "CAN'T STOP THIS FEELING TONIGHT WHAT YOU'RE WAITING FOR" plays in that sequence, then Pharita is seen in the claw machine, n Chiquita n other girles r trying to help her, in the next scene, she is seen happy n running on the street while her pictures are on billboards everywhere. The lyrics in that sequence are "HIGH UP IN THE SKY, I'M SPREADING MY WINGS".. During the evaluations once YG said, "Once she gets better in Korean and gets used to this country, I think she will gradually let loose of all the tension, and really spread her wings" now they used this as a Plot and create an amazing storyline around this.. In the MV, they've shown her flying in the sky, and lyrics like "NO NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW" plays in the back.. In the end, they all wake up and realise that they are living their dreams. ❤

Chiquita stands out a lot in MVs and performances. TBH, when it comes to the face of the group I think of her first, then Ahyeon.
Overall, the concept fits them the best. I’m tired of groups singing about just how cool they are. In this song it was a nice balance of a love song and girl crush. Love how rap was scattered throughout the song as well as these amazing vocals. All girls shined in their own way.
Ahyeon’s high-pitched vocal tone kinda threw me off in previous songs, but here she used her lower voice or smth. It was perfect. Rora and Pharita stood out in terms of vocals. Rami got less lines though, but still her styling, charisma and vocals were on point.
Lyrics and MV were my favorite! I heard this was shot at a museum that hasn’t even been opened yet. I saw a video of an extra actor, apperantly they shot a 15 second scene for 19hours. Crazy 😅
I agree. The title of "IT" girl is usually given to a native Korean, It was bestowed on Yoona Girls Generation, Irene Red Velvet, Jennie of Blackpink, Wonyoung of IVE, you see the theme, its usually a Korean native because they epitomizes the Korean Beauty standard the best.
I definitely think Asa and Chiquita really stood out in this MV.
You should watch Ahyeon fancam in Macau TMEA. She is a incredible live performer. The lip biting, the slow graceful and in synch choreography is so dream like and at the end she sheds a tear. Powerful performance. I am stunned at how seductive and gorgeous her choreography for live stage is. Wow. I love Ruka but Ahyeon set my heart on fire. Ultimate giant slayer.

I think 401 stands for April 1st the day that they debuted as all 7 members. Also i love Ayheon her vocal, rap, dancing, and visuals are amazing. Her being the center was an awesome move on YG

The beat at the end, if you listen at the beginning of the song where Ruka started, you can hear this beat in background. In my opinion, it's like a loop back to the start of the song as someone knocking and the girls run to the door, the "Forever" loop like the title of the song. It's just my interpretation though.

I guess the ending is like a teaser to their intro of the same song. I feel that this is to keep up with the theme of 'forever'. How the song loops harmoniously and triumphantly to forever.
Ruka's "Alright, ok ok" might be a sort of response to an encore of this same song. The viewer's desire to listen to it playback again.
Hey Jeff, I read the comments and someone already addressed the room number but I have a theory about the sign on the door "Babymonster Members Only". I feel this is retro circa 1980s vibe and as someone who experienced the 80s I remember the lightweight jacket brand "Members Only". It was a very popular brand back then. This may be a stretch but I feel a connection with this. Or it could just be coincidence.

if you're looking for a western relation for the pre/chorus, it is very reminiscent of Y2K Euro EDM, there's one song at the tip of my mind but for the life of me I can't recall it.

Ruka can manage being good on both areas in this MV the reason why she have her slow rap just because she can easily release her energy with her powerful deep tone and can balance her dance as well while asa do the fast rap but they dont lett her dance bcuz its hard for her to do the fast rap while dancing its kinda look unable thats why they let chiquita to do dance part of her.

My thoughts: when I first listened to it, I love it ! Somehow, it seems like...YG walk out the comfort zone with their color codes and let our girls try different concepts.
The music is retro, it reminds me a bit of 2nd gen like T-ara Bo Beep Bo Beep, or even early stage of Fin.K.L.
All I can say is, whatever you feed them, they can digest different music genres easily, slow ballad, dark hip-hop, western or retro, you name it. !
Can't wait their full album in fall. I wish every member has her own track, especially Rora, I miss her deep tone with emotions voice.

YG has done something like this before.
YG is way more versatile that people give them credit. BP early discography shows that, AKMU, IKON, WINNER, BIG BANG, they all have pretty different sounds and concepts. Treasure also showed more lighter sounds. They do have a specific sounds and DNA, but it is far from only being "TEDDY's formula" and always the same thing.
I think YG was limited by BLACKPINK a lot after they blew up and they stayed in the same vibe/formula because it was safe and they got so big that it would have been risky to change their sounds too much. Glad to see they can have fun experimenting again with BM. They step up their games with FOREVER and hopefully they will continue showing her versatile and talented those girls are.

What I like about yg doing right now is they allow different producer to collab with choice37 group unlike with blackpink they only allowed to work with teddy and for me that’s the reason why other people say blackpink songs have the same sounds.

Don't forget all the girls are growing up. Their vocals are also maturing. Don't think it was the editing. Pharita did have a closed E in her High note in Stuck in the middle which resulted in a higher pitch. She has opened up her vocals a lot more as she grows up and is able to control her higher belts with more volume. If you watch the final evaluation and pre debut Dream, the 2 High note belters were actually Ahyeon and Rami. But with Ahyeon sick, Pharita took over to carry that responsibility for Stuck in the middle and their Christmas without you cover. But in Forever YG now has 3 High range belters. What a choice.
