My favorite part about the whole video is how excited martin was for Canterbury. super excited for one his friends, it’s a rare sight to see
I watched Roland fishing so many times while I grew up before internet...you had to know when it was on tv. I'm typing this just as the intro ended, Scott I hope to see it to end and you bring it home. One of the most memorable episodes of Roland was fishing Lake Okeechobee in Florida, seeing him drag in a massive bass. That's when I actually lived in Clewiston, Florida in the 1960s. I wanted to be that, experience that. Later we moved to Georgia and my grandmother took over my fishing, she with the help of a loving husband my grand dad, had several ponds he built to fish from. We had a "bass pond" (grandma's favorite), the Loop Pond and Catfish Pond..one called the Brim Pond, all she loved to fish in. I learned to drive grand dad's 1960 Chevy pickup at age 14, a stick shift, just so I could move the 16' aluminum boat for grandma before Saturday mourning our usual fishing time. We never caught one as big as Roland's, but gosh I saw that look on my grandma's face and it was all Roland catching that huge bass in Lake Okeechobee.

Hello Scott, few things. 1. I watched your dad growing up as a kid. Growing up in Western PA we don't have bass fishing like Florida, but couldn't wait to hit the local ponds after watching your dad show. I'd been a fan of his for a long time.
2. After recently started watching your shows on TH-cam, and think you would be fun to hang out with.
3. I'd been involved in the outdoors since I was a kid. I'm on the Committee of a local NWTF chapter and hunted a few states, and been blessed in so many ways. But what made me subscribe to my first TH-cam is the tourney you were in contention to win with B-Lat. You stopped you boat and cheered him on to get his 5 bass limit after you had yours. At weigh in, you were happy to see him win. Now, to me that is class. You are a winner in my book,and there isn't a bigger trophy. Thanks for sharing. I love to fish, but highly doubt we ever cross paths because fishing here oesn't compare to Florida.

That classic Roland Martin footage gives u chills an how awesome this fishing family is one of my all time favorites the dedication these guys show is pretty awesome and the faith and positivity.
Man I have never fished for freshwater bass in my life, although I have been fishing for well over 30 years, but it seems great fishing advice is fairly universal. I totally agree with you with regard to fishing mind sets and how confidence plays a huge part, be it positive or negative. Your advice about being overconfident is spot on as this can lead to being so sure of a technique that a person will overlook obvious clues to getting the best from a given situation. Tight lines and I hope you fulfill your mission of a bass master classic title. I will be looking out for your name 👊

Before I even watch day 2. I think with a cloudy rainy day I would have threw half the day on the line and went smallmouth fishing. Good 15/16lb bag of smallies in this tournament puts you in good contention!
