I'll Be a Son of a Ghostbuster.
An evil ghost trapped in a cave for 100 years is finally released and is seeking revenge.
Note:
This is just the first five episodes of Filmation's Ghostbusters edited together to make a single feature length film. This is apparently how it was supposed to be presented (more or less), so I figured I'd edit it together and upload it for uh, time travel research... I'm also surprised that no one had done it and uploaded it here already.
The original Ghost busters movies and tv shows are still my favorites to watch anytime .
I’m still flabbergasted that Filmation convinced Peter Cullen to be on this show. And Pat Fraley (Cam Clarke’s older cousin) said in an interview that they get paid $80K an episode. Wow.

Yo!!! Ive forgotten about this Ghostbusters!! I haven't seen the show Since the early nineties when I was like 4 or 5. Some gow as soon as I saw the ghost logo it came the memory came back to me. Man TH-cam sometimes really makes you time travel...🙏 1000Thanks for this one💪🔥

My friends and I loved watching Ghostbusters Monday through Saturday mornings.
After that 2016 mess, these Ghostbusters deserve a new cartoon show.

What if... The Real Ghostbusters meet Filmation's Ghostbusters and together fought Prime Evil and Vigo the Carpathian together.

Only problem from filmation side is that if they decide to use the surviving cast members they’ll need someone to succeed Lou Schiemer and Linda Gray respectively. It would be great to hear Alan Oppenheimer do Prime Evil voice again.

It definitely deserves to have its own live action movie which is the reason why I'm writing a script for a live action version of this ghostbusters cartoon
This is where Columbia pictures got the idea for "The Real Ghostbusters" both awesome classics.

The story’s a bit more complex than that. Aykroyd and Co had a challenge acquiring the right to use the name Ghostbusters because Filmation - owned by Universal Pictures - had copyright and it was only by a Columbia exec that had greenlit the Aykroyd movie going to work for Universal that it came to pass. Filmation then approached Columbia Pictures about an animated adventure of the big screen Ghostbusters. Columbia went “ha hah no” and hired DiC for their cartoon series, so Filmation mined their 1975 live action children’s show to create this competing Ghost Busters cartoon.

I still have the 1st volume on dvd but sadly not the 2nd part. Still love this show.
Me too its out of print. Some are selling the 2nd volume over $300 used.

So, they just send the ghosts to another dimension in this version? At least the real Ghostbusters actually bust the ghosts, not make it someone else's problem.
Also, I recognize several voices from other cartoons in this:
- Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime and Ironhide)
- Susan Blu (Arcee)
- Alan Oppenheimer (Skeletor, Falkor, and Beachcomber)
- Pat Fraley (Krang)
It's more like banishing them from our plane of existence for a period of time example being the busted ghost don't come back for awhile but eventually they do.

At least when the real Ghostbusters put a ghost in the containment unit, it's permanent (Except for rare incidents where the unit get blown up) The Filmation Ghostbusters are just kicking the problem down the line, like locking Prime Evil in the vault and just hoping that no one will open it up, which is what happened. Look, if people like the Filmation Ghostbusters, that's fine. But I just can't get into them. Still better than the 2016 movie.
Haven't seen this movie or show in a long time, it's too bad they didn't make a reboot for this, also I didn't know the vehicle GB had a huge crush on Time Hopper.
Yeah, a reboot would be cool, but sadly, it would need a new name now that Ghostbusters is more connected to Venkman and company.
I remember when I was a little girl I would watch this and other cartoons with my mamaw and mama at our store on WGN out of Chicago.
Ever notice the ghosts in this cartoon and “Danny Phantom” behave more like Supervillains rather than actual evil spirits?
The sound effects are similar to He-Man & She-Ra.

Jake was the man, he had both Jessica & Futura on him.
Actor Alan Oppenheimer has amazing ranges : He has played Battlecat, Humblepuss from the Smurfs, Skeletor . Also Alan played Flintheartglum Gold on Duck Tales 1987- 90 . Back then, we have a variety of good and bad characters. Some of them had a British accent, Scottish accents, Spanish accents .
If he’s a ghost he should be able to go through walls lol

It’s explained that if he’s separated from the Bone-troller, Prime Evil becomes powerless and that explains why he couldn’t escape that easily!

This would've worked as a standalone movie, but the series was awesome in its own right as well. We already knew Prime Evil would escape since he did it before, unless Belfry's being in the present now changed the future. But that's for another time. :)

It’s because he’s that evil! However when Futura places her necklace on a ghost dematerializer that was enough to work on Prime Evil!

They was made by the same company that made He-Man.

oof. coming back to this as an adult isn't the best experience. You can see the writers and animators were trying to make a fun, kid friendly show and in that they succeeded. But there just isn't any of the substance that made the REAL ghostbusters or Masters of the Universe more enduring.

These aren't the Ghostbusters.
They are not the REAL GHOSTBUSTERS but they came first in a different style of ghost hunting.
It's kinda ironic that Columbia called themselves the Real Ghostbusters despite coming after the Filmation version.

I don't know why people picked the "Real" Ghost Busters over Filmation's version. Filmation"s version has far more original characters and way better stories. While Mysteria looks Morticia from the Adam's Family Apparitia looks like Elvira from the 1943 British movie Blithe Spirit. If you see the movie you will notice how much they looked alike. Futura was originally supposed to be a Black woman. If they ever made a new series I hope they have both the original one and the Black version. Better yet add a Blonde Bikini babe version.
I don’t know why Paul Feig didn’t develop and direct Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy as genderflipped Jake and Eddie in a reboot of this property aimed squarely at children.
