I agree. The commentator coverage on TNT/BT was essentially praising inconsistent refereeing. They even admitted he wasn't even getting the decisions right but still praising him.
It was a surreal experience to see such terrible refereeing, while hearing the commentators praising him endlessly for his experience. He was truly atrocious and I dnt understand it.
was the same on CBS too. Moron commentator and co-commentator (Rob Green) were in a constant loop of praise for Pepe because he's old despite his arsehole nature and praise for the ref despite his performance.
It was a massive challenge for Arsenal and a great learning experience, so glad that we managed to get through it, time for a much needed rest for the players and some time to reflect on our performance.
Love the intro gentlemen it certainly wasn't good for your blood pressure,I don't want to get Athletico Madrid in the last 8 as I consider them to be similar to Porto in the dark arts and prevent a free flowing game I think the other teams will allow us to play what do you think gentlemen?
Honestly with the ref when I clocked he was letting things just fly (which I think could easily be a recipe for disaster cos as the players realize the challenges become stronger and more dangerous) for either team I was cool with it, then he disallows that goal for such a soft call and I was furious. He should’ve kept that consistency up at least
We were shockingly poor over both legs. Only positive take is to hope they have gotten the UCL knockout stage debu nerves out of their System and can play closer to their Real level in the next round.
What was funny though was on TNT they had Rio Ferdinand pop in to say "Porto will win" 😂. Rio is turning himself into an idiot day by day with his statements about Arsenal. I love it when pundits try to run an anti-Arsenal narrative and then we score late or we end up winning the game. It shushes them week after week.
Never shuts em up though does it ? A bunch of ex players all with an axe to grind and the easiest laziest way to do that is to knock Arsenal . Im telling you imagine we won that cup they'd be falling over themselves inventing reasons why we spawned our way to another trophy and why the other clubs let us win.
@@lesmartin8131 let them keep talking and making fools of themselves. Look at how much of a fool Rio Ferdinand looks for his comments about Arteta, Saka and then last night with the Porto game. It's totally fine by me if a great player and defender from the past wants to tarnish his credibility by looking dumb 😂.
I get coverage via beIN sport here in New Zealand. So not only do I get to mute Richard Keys every time he pollutes the screen. Their site crashed with 2 minutes to go in extra time and I missed the entire penalty shoot out.
Can you imagine if Odegaard, for example, came forward and complained that another player had said something mean to him on the pitch? He'd be ridiculed - as should Conceição.
A tremendous bit of naive analysis from you gentlemen I'm afraid! If you think that Porto is most likely the only remaining "asshole" team remaining...youre in for a shock! Just watched Athletico...and they're 1000% Porto WITH the technicality and experience and talent! They're literally worse than Porto's gonna be
Wrong assessment on last free kick. The other free kick in similar position. Porto ran toward Arsenal goal instead of backing toward their goal. First time all 6 or 7 players were offside.
40:00 yes if it hits the post and then bounces of the keeper its a goal. One of my earliest football memories was watching Brazil getting knocked out of world cup (to France I think) on penalties when this happened.
Man Plans but God Decides - The Referee plans to made harder for us (i really think he didnt want to gives us any advantages because of he didnt want to gives his "brother" advantages, jokes a side he didnt want to gives advantages to the home side, because like he lose to atmosphere of the stadium) - Porto side that plans use all their dark arts and strategy to made harder for us - The situation that we are in didnt help us. conceding last minute goal on the first leg to a hard to score team is very disadvantage for us. - The nervousness in our player surely didnt help .... but once god decides that we go through he will gives some of our players to step up the occations !!! props to Captain Odegaard , Our Penalty Hero Raya, Our upandcoming rock at the back Kiwior, and the last is Our Warrior Havertz that got batter by the opponents knee everytimes they take on aerial battle.
Watching on TV, you could definitely feel the tension at the Emirates. I wish our fans were a little more confident because it definitely translates to the on the pitch performance. I know it's easy for me to say sitting at home, and I was bricking it too, so I understand it. I just think it would benefit us not to have such nervous energy. They were great during the shootout tbf though
Never seen a love affair blossom between a commentator and a referee live on screen before.
Right? They do their best to control the narrative but it’s clear to see that ref had 0 control and consistency in that game

Any doubt about Odegaards captaincy put to rest. What a leader. What a player.
There was doubt?
0 doubt since the very decision in may 22
Was there ever a doubt?
Goosebumps during this intro, had to wake up at 4am to watch the game, was worth it in the end COYG
ONE HUNDRED PERCENT! I did not enjoy watching it, but it was worth it!!! 😅😅
It ended at 6 pm local time for me and I was ready for bed from the stress, you must have had a miserable day afterwards lol
@@danielwinkler2891 Shout out to all the gooners in different time zones!! What a great Club! ❤️
Thank you very much from Trinidad 🇹🇹
Aye ...allyuh Trini like to be in EVERYTHING eh bai!!😂 #COYG anyways...we inside lol
Big up from St. Kitts 🇰🇳 👏🏼 COYG
Get to bed late? Yeah, about 06:30 in Cambodia, today’s been a write-off, but I don’t give a toss, amazing!
Good call on the penalties. I noted the preseason penalties but didn’t think of spreading the penalties around in PL.
*What a game!*
I can't believe the amount of folk saying the ref was good when he was really bad
Right??? I had to re-watch the game because I felt like I was either being gaslit, or I was losing my mind.
Even being a doppelgänger for Trossard couldn’t make me like him on the night
I look forward to the opening audio every episode
Perfect timing. Just as I'm taking the dogs for a walk 😊
I'm sitting on the toilet, who's winning here 😂 😂
For me, I see that both Havertz and Raya have had their redemption moments now. Both truly our boys now.
That was an epic way to end a CL quarters drought.
The start...could imagine it with commentary !😊
great show gentlemen I would love to have been in the North Bank with those penalties
It was a massive challenge for Arsenal and a great learning experience, so glad that we managed to get through it, time for a much needed rest for the players and some time to reflect on our performance.
Poetry. Last second 1st leg heartbreaker was a blessing to begin writing Raya's Arsenal story. Redemption COYG
It felt like the ref was using a random number generator to make decisions
Goodly morning. No doubt.
The opening audio - chills. 😅😊😊😊😊😊😂😂😂😂😂

It's a battle of anti arsenal haters between him and Gary

Yeah I watch with Stan in AUS nothing better than seeing a coked up Bosnich giving us his 2 cents at 7am 🙄🙄

Couldn't bring myself to watch the pens onTNT, I was so stressed, so followed them on the Arseblog live feed. #wuss

If that’s how Porto plays, then I can see why Vieira gets bullied off the ball all the time. he was trained to just flop.

Ps did you hear Ally McCoist on TNT think the referee was brilliant
Gentlemen do you think we should adopt the rules of rugby where the clock is stopped when the game is not in play.
Porto was that wiley awkward Southpaw boxer
Atletico would be a pretty similar opponent to porto, difficult to break down and threatening on counter

First like whoop whoop
No sound
Havertz has that niggly side that I feared we'd miss when Xhaka left. I still feel we'd be free and clear this season if he had stayed.
