Long time hockey player here - one thing I always notice with someone that hasn't grown up playing is how they handle body contact. Although there is no "checking" in most senior leagues, that doesn't mean that there is no contact at all. You're going to bump into one another for puck battles, pinch one another off into the boards when defending, and do a little shoving here and there when vying for position - it's just an inherent part of the game. Don't take it personally when someone does it to you and don't be afraid to do it yourself. It's nice that you're saying sorry (especially if your trying to make friends and all that), but don't worry about a bump here and there. Everyone should get it. Keep it up! Have fun. Hockey is the best sport there is.
I literally just played my first hockey game at 20, from not being able to skate 2 months ago. Thank you and other content creators who assured me that it was indeed, not too late. Funny note, my first exposure to hockey was with the Habs in 2021, when they lost to the lightning.
love your videos so much and especially love how normalized your making getting into hockey later in life i personally im just getting into goalie in parts thanks to your videos and overall the community is so accepting with these things keep up the good work! much love!
Your long form videos are great! You really have made so much progress. Your videos have also helped me make a lot of progress so thank you for everything
Welcome to hockey, hope you've been enjoying learning! I do suggest getting longer pants though, you have no padding above the knee, that's where the pants need to cover.
Hey, just stumbled upon this and it immediately resonated with me as I grew up playing hockey so I can understand how difficult of a sport it can be to play, as you have to learn to skate AND play the game. Super stoked for you dude, inspiring stuff
Love watching this stuff!! I just started out myself at 28, and i’m tempted to document my journey too just to hopefully inspire a few more lads who think it’s too late to give it a go!
I love the channel man! I myself am 24 and I just started playing hockey. Joined a beer league team with some coworkers and I’m loving it. I’m definitely learning more every game and this winter I will get more practice in with moving to my new house on a river so I’ll be making a ODR. Keep up the hard work and great videos!!
Started watching these and glad to say I've started playing hockey again after 6 years later. Played my first drop in game in 7 years last week and was dead, hopefully tonight will be better 😅
just a quick tip for Mohawks on the ice: trust your inside edges, and rock your feet like a rocking chair. also make sure to not drag your toe as it will slow you down. Sorry for the paragraph, have a good time skating!😊
istg you are honestly just a gem to people trying to learn hockey. I have been technically playing roller for a few years, but got serious about it lately. I have made so much progress and you really have helped. you really have made so much progress. (also side note do you ever remember comments? you respond to like every one of them. )
This is great to see. As a someone who played hockey in canada I could only imagine how daunting it would be to jump into hockey as an adult. Keep the chin strap tight and the ankles strong lol
Great vid man. Fun to watch would love to see more of these or join a small pickup league at your local rink so you can get some more ice time/make some more vids for us lol
make sure when your defending you have 2 hands on your stick and lift it instead of just trying to poke it it works a lot better when the opponent is standing still. Keep it up!!😀😀
You could leave the lower hand on the stick a little looser. You can see when you pass and move that it is almost your leading hand. Try to control more with the top hand and leave the other hand loose while moving the puck:)
Yo, come down to Monument and play C level it is a great balance of people who are great to look up to and newer people grinding it out and improving a lot.
Hey bro, i noticed your hockey pants are way too short for you, they need to be going to your knees that way you get full protection. You don't wanna be taking a slapper right above the knee where you have no protection
Love the videos man! Do you find anything from roller transitioned to the ice? Wondering if getting rollers for the off season would help my game on the ice.
Preciate it dude! For sure, the skating is different but the balance and technique for things like transitions, crossovers, that sorta stuff definitely transfers. Stick handling and shoot does too it’s all just a little different
Wild, this gets recommended to me. Im from the south but now live like 4 miles away from ice ranch. I watched the game my whole life but never got the chance to play. I take it you need to know how to skate before you take this class?
YOOO W man i love ice hockey but i cant do roller like how do u stop on roller lmao. Man ur either the most athletic person or most talented uve achieved more than what most people do in 4 years this is amazing. I hope i could be like u some day.
Ay thanks so much dude! Roller is soooo much easier for me right now haha but Imma keep putting in some work on ice and I'll get the hang of it! Stay on that grind with me!
@ cause of goal differential we did not make the championship but it was a 4 way tie so we placed fourth but if goal differential did not exist we would be 1st
When the puck goes in the corner your first move shouldn’t be a poke check your first move should be a stick lift because the player has to have their stick to get the puck and if you lift their stick then they can’t get it Sorry for long paragraphs
@ no its an outdoor ice rink its un-regulation size rink but the vibes are amazing( i think it would make a sick YT vid) i offer 2 levels for adult learn to play and its a ton of fun i played semi-pro and college and JRs so ik i can coach up your skill set to help get you to more advanced development but check out city of longmont ice pavallion rink and ask for coach Tim! ( I can coach roller to if you like better btw)
@ no what I meant was a couple videos back u mad a vid about u just roller skating and listening to music around ur neighborhood working on handles did u search the songs up or was it from a playlist
Great video my man. It’s amazing how fast you’ve learned the game. Keep it up.
Ay thanks so much Brody!

Hey thanks so much dude, that makes alot of sense and I appreciate you taking the time!
@ sure! Go to stick and puck as much as you can and work on your edge-work. You’re only as good a hockey player as you are a skater.
Very well said! Couldn't agree more.

Dude that’s awesome! What are the odds too we were both watching the same game, being inspired to play! Thanks for sharing! 🙌

Love seeing the progress every vid! looking forward to more Ice hockey vids.
Ay preciate it bro! 🙌
I also learned hockey somewhat recently and I got more excited to play the game
Heck yeah dude!
My coach always tells me you shouldn't hit the puck when you pass but drag it forward. hope this helps and love your vids. Keep up the good work!
I realized that after too haha thanks for the tip!

A small tip for when you get the puck. Take a extra second to look for a open player.
You've gota do a Kazxi and Nasher roller hockey collab sometime soon

I will man, thanks so much for supporting!
As a guy who recently got into hockey this is so sick
Thanks so much dude!
Welcome to the addiction. Have fun
Yeah the Mohawks are hard for me to. I practice by just standing like a Mohawk position just with no skates. Great job!
Thanks dude, been tryna stretch at home after this haha

Way better then the nasher videos

That door sounded like the first part of magnolia😂
