Why would either of the 2 founding developers quit working on the game? They work with an amazing team and still enjoy creating new things for the game!
the developer retired last year ik for fact cause fizzy my cousin he kept it going by selling it to another developer i have streamer friends who talked him but he sold it to another developer they keep it up
Remember when there were no pets, baby food cured everything about your baby, houses costed rent and were pretty bad and couldnt be sustained, and clothing actually costed money. And you cant forget the $20 check only system.
i’ve been playing adopt me for a little over half its lifespan (~3.8 years) and i gotta say, even after all the coolest pets behind paywalls, the fucked up trades and almost losing it all to scams, and overhaul of old features and map redesign…i still find myself wanting to play it. it’s one of the best "roleplay" games for how popular it is. the pets are unique, the community is…something, and most of the in-game events (especially the winter events) are actually really fun and engaging. oh also it’s had me in a chokehold for this long thanks to the daily streak. i’ve grown attached to it. my longest ever was 997 and the one after that (current) is at about 450. i think my only complaint is that all the constant motion lags out my device, but then again, so does everything else :’)
I love adopt me like really but do recognize it's flaws are so fucked- also YES FINALLY EVENTS MENTIONED! Like some of them are awesome! i can't wait for any upcoming Halloween events this year.
@@justasillykitty I started playing adopt me in 2017 and all I can say is, it really really fell off, I liked the game when houses costed rent, I liked having to go to the store to buy food, I dislike the pet system, I dislike the free stuff like Healthcare and school, I don't understand why so many people think these are good features before it took effort to raise a child, and going to the store with your whole family was super cool. Not to mention buying a car or somthing, like seriously it took forever to even buy a bike (3 hrs to be exact since you got a $20 check every hr) and that was way more fun then the "Hehe funny colors and sounds when I press E" game we have today, the new updates are also very low effort and I just want the old game back, it's not even nostalgia because I didn't like it that much back then I just realized how great it was then compared to now. At this point I don't even play it anymore.
Ive been playing adopt me since 2017 and i still adore the game. literally all i do in it is dress up my pets and build but ive somehow continued to play it for exactly 7 years today. the only thing i miss about the old adopt me is how everyone was rping instead of just sitting in the middle trying to trade their omega exotic yellow cat or something(and also the grocery store i miss it so much please bring it back)
Initially, I was one of those people that thought adopt me was a gimmicky game that specifically caters towards a younger audience - but after playing the game and experiencing the weekly updates and events, I can see why the game is so popular and well-liked. The trading system effectively ensures that you don't have to rely on monetization to progress - I myself was able to obtain some of the rarest pets without spending any of my own money. I also love how adopt me has several sub-communities that constitute topics like trading and building, it all feels very inclusive. These factors paired with the fact that the play-style hasn't seen much change over the past 7-ish years creates an atmosphere that newer games that incorporate lootboxes and pets will never be able to recreate - it feels somewhat nostalgic in a way. My advice to those who might perceive adopt me as infantile or mundane - you should give it a shot! It definitely surprised me.
My sister use to be a scammer by telling others to give her the pet and she would give it back it usually wouldnt work but she would get her friends to tell the victim that it was a smart move and they would get there pet back and when they traded her (probably a Mega Flying Legendary) she would leave and tell the victim you snooze you lose a few years later when she went back in the game (probably for nostalgia) she felt so bad she traded most of her inv to new players who just wanted good stuff.
@@Randomuneducatedamericanidiotadopt me devs aren’t as bad and greedy as whatever the hell royale high devs are doing. Like royale high is genuinely so greedy it hurts. But adopt me isn’t that bad, (coming from a 3 year adopt me Player and ex 3 year rh player)
True it's just boring not my style my style is more of a survival type make sense why I like watching pot videos I can't play it untill I get a good phone so It doesn't crash and lag I also like playing cos since it gives me the survival feeling and it's fun pulling people out of the air
@@AdrianSolano-s7i I have a love hate relationship with the game. I just hate how addicting it is, I actually do because I wanna stop playing but I can't it's like smoking a cigeratte and you say your only gonna smoke once, but the next day you do it again and again and AGAIN and then you can't stop and you wanna quit.
I can’t believe that adopt me isn’t a gambling game like every other in Roblox. there is so much effort behind this popular game that I never previously knew.
It did. In 2021/2022 it averaged at just above 200k, at times even up to 300k if there was an update. Now it stays at around 50k to 100k, even durring smaller updates or weekends. It's going down.
yea but adopt me is running out of ideas and getting a little more pricey making a lot of new players to roblox not good compared to older players considering pets wise it’s not beginner friendly and with all the new games on roblox adopt doesn’t catch a lot of new players eyes as it used to
Except the time when Roblox went down in 2021 for 3 whole days and after which in 2023 which only went down for hours so Adopt Me still went down at that time
I really adored the expressive animations they gave the pets for some reason but I never played it much after that, that’s basically what I liked about adopt me other than boasting about my rocket sleigh
@@kewbing roblox is a kids game in general, making videos on a game for kids doesn'r make you "weird" also these youtubers get millions of vies so they don't seem like people dislike them
i’ve been playing adopt me before the pets even came out and i honestly love it a lot, it’s kind of my guilty pleasure. they have updates every thursday that usually always include new pets and even if you’re not into the pets that much, building your own house is entertaining enough
I agree highly on the building part, its the most entertaining thing abt it fm, so satisfying when your house is finally completed. & with the new house trading functions you can still get good pets

i really like how unbiased you are to the game. I quit several months ag and i came back starting to play the game. Yes, scams are very much present, but it doesnt happen as often as it used to (though i know scams will always be around unfortunately) but yeah good video. I liked it, maybe ill subscribe too :D Nice opinion bro!
and uplift game developers are constantly trying to prevent scams from happening, like adding warnings when a trade seems “unfair” or if you say “trust trade” or “pick a door” it will not let u say it and will pop up with a warning. they also put limits on bucks you can spend in a certain amount of time, so obviously they are trying really hard to prevent scams.
Adopt me can be really fun at times, and i played it when i was little all the time, and i kind of got interested in it again! The game has changed so much, and yes it was meant to be a roleplay game, but no one really uses it for roleplay. People mainly choose to be parents, but you can choose to be a baby if you want to make even more money from taking care of yourself + your pet. Trading has also changed, you can notice that when you trade someone that notice pops up against scamming, and not trusting others. This was made to help stop scamming. Then they also added a part where you had to accept and then it made you wait a couple of seconds and then you had to accept again before the trade can go through. This really helps if you think you want to do the trade at first but then you stop and think. it can be annoying but if it wasnt there so many more people wouldve gotten scammed. Ive also seen some super impressive houses, with CRAZY detail, which is really inspiring. You cant really make a house like that unless you have a lot of money from taking care of your pet, meaning you will have to play a lot. when people need to get money fast, they usually go on private servers and have multiple alts joined as babies for more money. I think that might be a reason for so many people playing the game everyday- others just like the satisfaction of having high value pets, so they play a lot in hopes to get them. Adopt Me is honestly the type of game you play for a week, get slightly bored- but then you realize it updates every friday (yes its literally scheduled) and then play it again for another week. its really just a loop. I think this all causes more people to keep playing this game, even though its been around for so long. I approve.
If by popular you mean relevant, then yeah. It came from nostalgia, Natural disaster was a good game choice to be played by youtubers while Hide And Seek Extreme comes from a game we all played in real life as kids, why wouldnt you search it up on Roblox? Both aren't PLAYED, not nearly as much as Adopt Me. Both sit at about 1k to 10k players. Adopt me easily pulls off more than 50k.
You're one of the best youtubers i have ever seen you're script to sound everything is showing the amount of intense amount of detail thanks for you're videos that put a smile on my face
If I'm being honest people just think this is solely a kids game, no, there's actually a really complicated trading side to adopt me that I'm apart of and people still don't understand why I play the game so much. It's genuinely so fun when you trade and successfully upgrade to your goal using your own experience instead of value websites.
To be honest there’s something in adopt me that makes even me play it, the pets are cute and most players have their goals in the game, some even making lore on their favourite pets, the builders are very creative and it’s also nice that there’s updates very often. Of course money gives benefits on rich players but also the ones that doesn’t spend money on it can get rich if they use the right methods.
exactly some of these arguments in the comments just makes me confused its not even an argument anymore its straight up confusion when people try to demonize the game
honestly the fact that the game has been like adding alot of features and updates that the playerbase likes its honestly one reason i keep going back to it, they add fresh concepts and have recently started to branch out with gameplay for their events, which is something i can get behind, along with changing controversial updates like the subscription for 2 pet equips to being something you can buy with robux and trade!
The pets update made the game even more popular. Pets made the game more grindy. Imo, the game is much more fun now, than before (before the pets update)
around 7:10 time in the video it says about how like everything has a satisfying bloop but like these are VERY recent updates in the "grand scheme" of adopt me's time its been around since 2017... pet reactions until 2021... i know thats ancient in internet terms but lets be real things only kinda started turning around for the player in adopt me since the devs stared recently actually listening to the players n helping them if theyre hacked or scammed n its STILL so hard to get help. AWESOME VIDEO btw really gave me a new perspective and VERY helpful. honestly hard to come by with MOST roblox adopt me influencers!! you got my sub cause you ACTUALLY are genuine with your videos n seem relatable not just someone posting another video for views so thank you for this.
Did that in 2019 over losing a rideable fennec fox out of all things, even though I was broke af back then and had absolutely no legendaries, I still cringe about it till this day
could you maybe talk about the downfall of overlook bay? it was a decently popular game that went from thousands of players to 0 in a month or so and i’m reallllyyyy curious as to why
I agree, I think that would actually be quite a good idea. I used to play that game as a kid and would love to see what happened to it and where it went. I already expect the answer to be things like no updates etc like most games.
I remember playing their Halloween event, it was so good!! I think that was maybe back in 2020-2021? I genuinely forget but honestly I don't understand why it had such a major downfall. Maybe it was because it had a similar aspect to Adopt Me? Just a guess, but I'm genuinely curious why it flopped so badly in the end
Brooo I remember in like a certain period of time, The youtuber MeganPlays would always promote Overlook Bay. I think she is one of the main devs of the game or smt. She also made the game "traitor" which is like mm2 but "better" ig-?
The fact that people still do scams/fall for them is genuinely pathetic. Cross trading/pick a door being the ones i see most. Also, the fact that people care THIS much about values is genuine loser behavior, even my sister cares about it and won't even do a trade without checking those crappy value websites.
I only fell for about 4 scams in total (one promising a nfr unicorn, two being fake friends while the other was where they promised putting "good pets" after the first trade of putting aussie eggs in.) Though all of those were back in 2019-2020 and ever since then I haven't fell for one once, so yeah I agree with you on that one. Honestly it's just best to not trade anymore and just focus on the new pets, it's what I do
im an adopt me player and imma say one thing while many thing they are popular they keep making pets ridiculously hard to get wich forces players to spend hours upon hours if they didnt do this their player count would drop alot more
As an Adopt Me player who recently came back i honestly have a love hate relationship to it even though its entirely hated for its playerbase and trading concept i find it really enjoyable that i found peope enjoying it other ways without trading, sometimes i RP with my pets and cosplay as OCs or characters, even grinding by myself without trading whenever a new weekly update drops (the part i hate the most) and building houses in the game its what making me addicted to the game again after leaving for 2 years, it was probably the best choice to come back to the game since im more of a grinding game type of player after dropping other gacha games also it got me more interested when it dropped teeny bit of lore to the game (theres a whole video to the ADM lore + Frostclaw's Fury)
I used to love it and would play it some more if they actually did anything for people who got hacked. It is my fault, but it was a scam I’ve never heard of hence me falling for it even worse, and they got my cookies too. Children mainly play these games, and it’s easy for them to get hacked since they are gullible.
I had to quit adopt me because I was too attached to my virtual pets and I couldn’t keep up with the demands to play every day. The irony is, I now play Bee Swarm Simulator. Edit: I have now quit Bee Swarm Simulator. Stickers are horrible.
I played Adopt Me with my sister before it became well.....a pet adoption game. The game had a general popularity, however it rarely reached the front page at times during that period. Earning items were much easier back then as well. Events are fun, and doable. The biggest aspect of the game was roleplay and it was fun. However, as time went by, me and my sister took a small break from the game and they then added pets. Now, personally the pets are cute but at the time I was very much frustrated. It felt like Adopt Me had gone down the collect this and collect that path! And it pretty much did? We quit after that, figuring it just didn't suit our taste anymore. I still do miss the old Adopt Me, as much as the pet feature is quite adorable it felt like another trading game once more. Good video by the way!
i used to love this game. unlike most people, the problem i had wasnt the amount of scams that happen, but how repetitive it started to get. the devs dont really put that much effort into making new pets anymore which is what i used to love (the massive range of animals/creatures, from real species to mythical ones), and now it's just... the same things but in a different colour?? and since the game needs regular updates for the popularity to stay, the things being implemented aren't as exciting anymore. whats more, because of the amount of pets in the game, it's very hard to memorise everything's value. the trading assistant thing that warns u abt potential scams just based on rarity also really irks me sometimes. I used to be a collector for old toys, vehicles, strollers etc. and most of the toys are usually a lower rarity, like the chinese lantern. i've had so many trade declined on me, keep in mind, i was overpaying in terms of actual value, just because of the warning, which has made me utterly frustrated to get it off me. another problem of having so many things is that players from before that havent logged in for a while would have a massive struggle on keeping up. now obviously this is a problem that would probably exist in every other game but its not as bad as adopt me imo. anw this is just a bit of a rant, so dont mind it too much
also the trading system is...not it. the point of the game is to adopt people/roleplay, or hatch pets to trade for what u like based on looks or effects, instead of actual values. instead the aim now is more like hatching until u get to the same value of the actual pet or just trade ups, but no one ever talks about how long this actually takes. for example, my dream pet used to be a neon bear because i thought it was rlly cute, n i even traded my frost dragon for it. sure u could think it would be the biggest L ever since the values of them nowadays were completely unbalanced, but it made ME happy. that's how the system should work. and when that acc got banned, i had to start over from scratch, but at this point of time, everything already revolved around values. i didn't even bother trying to get a neon bear because, well, i would probably have to get tens or hundreds of unicorns to get that value.
I’ve been playing adopt me for a little over half its lifespan (~3.8 years) and I got to say, even after all the coolest pets behind paywalls, the fucked up trades and almost losing it all to scams, and overhaul of old features and map redesign…I still find myself wanting to play it. it’s one of the best "roleplay" games for how popular it is. the pets are unique, the community is…something, and most of the in-game events (especially the winter events) are actually really fun and engaging. oh also it’s had me in a chokehold for this long thanks to the daily streak. I think my only complaint is that all the constant motion lags out my device, but then again, so does everything else :’) the fact that it has not died or the developer hasn't quit Roblox is crazy The crazy thing about it Adopt Me has around 100k-200k players for the past 3 years and it’s not actually going down or up WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ROBLOX GAME??? I get huge meep city vibes from adopt me, I'm not sure if they were inspired by adopt me but take a look at the main area of both games and the general art style. I also remember as a child raising 'meeps'. I miss meep city to be honest (despite their controversy), and it's heartbreaking to see what's become of the game
Meepcity is an older game than Adopt me. If anything, Adopt Me was inspired by Meepcity because back in the days, Meepcity was one of the most popular roleplay games on Roblox during 2017-18, even more popular than Adopt Me. I believe Meepcity was popular because of the little meeps, which seems to be pets. Adopt Me took notes and decided to add Pets Update in the year 2019, leading to the uprise of Adopt Me. Which eventually overtook Meepcity.
@@amberfrost7772 That is not what they meant. The original comment said that they think Meep city was inspired by Adopt Me. Which is not true. It’s the other way around in fact.
Adopt Me! Nowadays is just adopt a pet instead and abandon your so called child to death. And microtransactions are also included of course, pretty self explanatory.
I remember playing adopt me in 2018 before the pets existed. I was there for the pets countdown too, and everyone was SO HYPED and honestly the pets have probably kept the popularity.
If you are planning to play adopt me you should read this: I have to say, I started adopt me 2020. Back then, the values were just introduced. Of course, there was still a value system, however, everything was so new and essentially everyone was using "happy" values and you just trade what you feel like trading. If you had a unicorn, in 2020, if you just trade for like 2 hours, you can easily get a bat dragon. Fast-fowarding now, I was not seriours about trading until 2023. Ofc, I have a frost dragon since I was just that average roleplayer, messing around and just trolling people by throwing pizza floaties at them, building, grinding events. Yes, I did trade from nothing to a bat dragon, kitsune to a frost dragon, but this was when I was unseriously trading. The enconmy was still good for trading as the new event pet was worth like half a turtle. Your able to get any dream pet just by trading and knowing values. Fast-fowarding to today, I quitted adopt me. I have to say, looking back, adopt me was a waste of time. Most people played adopt me for its pet trading, and now reflecting back, yes I did evneutally was able to turn my 1 frost dragon to 9 frost dragons, but I realized that I did not had any fun doing it. Everyday, I was the same thing: Logging onto tradiere and posting listings, claming dailyies, looking at listings, accept any that is good (usually 1 trade on traidere per day). and waiting for rich server, recieve around 50 trades a day, and only doing like 1-2. The cycle repeates. You gain around 2-3 shark value a day from the process. But Looking back, the trading system is broken. If I can tell myself one thing before I started to invest in adopt me, was to not aim too high. If your joining new to adopt me, and planning to get a MFR bat dragon. My simple recommendation is just do not. There are other even cooler/cuter pets that you can get in a resonable time. What I mean by its not reasonble to get a MFR BD, is the fact that it is 2880 shark value. Which means that if somone were to give you a shark (out of game, legednary pet, that have pretty good demand) every single day, for free, it would take you 7.890411 years to get a MFR bat dragon. This is insane as if you even trade for 3 hours a day, sometimes you cant even find 1 good trade, much less a free shark every single day for 8 years. Adopt me is still kinda popular, though however when it was popular, it was averaging around 800k players (aussie egg event), just yesterday, it was 70k. Once adopt me dropped below a certain threshold, it just will not climb back up. I am sorry to say, adopt me is diying, and the reason why it is dying, is the same reason why it was popular. This trading system is keeping it alive, yet it is also the same reason why people quit. People say that they quit because of scamming/losing their pets. If this was the case in 2019, if your dream pet was an owl. You would just try and hatch a unicorn, and trade it for an owl. It was that simple. Or even better, you could trade 2 fly potions for an owl. It was extremly easy to recover from a scam. Now, if you got scammed for an owl. You hatch a unicorn. Good job, now you need to hatch like 90+ more unicorns to get an single owl. This is just madness. Adopt me's roleplaying system is nothing to praise at either, it is the same reason why I was litterally stunned when I can even remember the last time I saw "ABC to adopt me" when somone said it. Now adopt me have no one who is roleplaying, no one cares about roleplaying in adopt me, since EVERYTHING is behind a paywall, everything is revolved around pets. So heed my warnings, If you still decide to play adopt me after all thats said, go on. But after just a week, you will be truly exposed to the corruption of the trading system
I played since 2017, never touch myself into the trading worlds, all i do is to collect new pets and ignore the old ones, I tend to miss tons of pets but i continue working on the new ones, I don't get why ppl love trading, it's boring
I played and traded for a while, goal was a neon dalmation. I made a mega pig, then got stuck after only getting halfway (2 dalmations) so I just.. quit...
As an owner of 3 mega bat dragons, I can confirm that this comment explained word by word of my whole situation when it comes to both me quitting and also the way how I obtained those pets. It’s been a whole year since I last opened this game due to all those senseless values manipulated by a bunch of same rich kids day by day who own the value website. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to even obtain a single high tier pet such as a normal crow, not to mention something higher. People nowadays don’t even look at the pets as pets, all they see is numbers. What pets you managed to collect before the number values, you collected them. No more. I’m very proud that I came across this comment that shares the exact same thoughts as I do. I’ve been also doing nothing but sitting for hours every single day, waiting for a single trade and checking trading websites, chances wouldn’t exist of me actually getting any profit in weeks. Glad I hoarded my mega bats back in the days, obtaining such a thing doesn’t stand a chance.
@@Luna-ux9bysame I've never really understood why it's loved by so many like it's a good concept but it gets pretty boring after like 10 mins of playing.
Honestly i think that people that say that adopt me is cringe are kinda stupid (couldnt find a better word) because it actually gets better every update, for example, the animation update that the pets actually show emotions, and as that said, adopt me is most likelly 99% better than these repetitive cash grab games and also the game is actually very decent for kids instead of ton of brainrot
I used to love this game. I would help build people’s houses and I would usually get paid a pet for it. Although, I stopped playing the game because my biggest drive was to get a giraffe. After years of grinding, I finally got one. Then, I was scammed. I was a dumb kid. 😅 I stopped playing the game after that because I knew there was no way I could get another giraffe with its value so high and me starting from mostly scratch. I lost the drive I once had.
I'm 16 and even I still play it- I just love the cute pets and I really hope a game with unique pets like adopt me would eventually be released on Steam ^^
I remember being the one to suggest dressing up your pets. There used to be this feature (I think?) Where you could suggest updates. Based off of memory, I think this is kinda what I typed "Can you pls add a feature where we can dress up our pets just like how we dress up our normal roblox characters? Like putting a unicorn horn or putting a backpack?" And then a few months later they added the feature! I was super happy. I'm sure I wasnt the ONLY one to suggest it, but it sure felt like the devs heard my cries and my cries only! I was super proud, haha.
In my perspective one of the reasons why adopt me have a lot of players because of it's trading system, addiction to having good pets, flexing it, getting profit, money, basically gambling. It makes players play and stay more just to get their favourite pets and such. Combining it with a lot of activities, popular youtubers making video on it, secrets, badges, and limited pets, its a WHOLE package of gambling. The Roblox games "Charts" always include adopt me in the list of popular games, making new players play the game, because it is popular. The scamming, many of us got that satisfaction when they scam a people, but it isn't always like that it can be avoided in a lot of ways. Either way that's just my perspective. I wanted to hear yours too.
I dont trade much but for me I like the designs of the pet so I will trade but usually I dont trade much i only come for the tasks I get for my pet or roleplaying
I personally use adopt me for skits, it has a lot of resources. When I started roblox when I was five, the first games I played was adopt me, I loved it, I think the only reason people like it is because its not teenagers who like it, its the young roblox populations, also those people who like trading and scamming. I personally like traumatizing kids so they quit and stop getting scammed. Defiently parents are getting bankrupt from this game. Thats why I only play it and make videos on it once in a while.
i miss the og days when adopt me was an actual game about...randomly adopting some player as a kid and doing stuff like caring for them and feeding them stuff and not just ''trading bleh bleh for bleh bleh'' or pet gambling.
I joined in 2019 right after the pets were added and I really wanna see old adopt me I don't know what it feels like but there r some places that don't exist rn but they did in 2019 😭
As someone who recently plays Adopt me. I must say some pets are outrageous for robux. 1,000 for a grim dragon!! It baffles me since there are young kids who plays these games, and many can't even afford one.
Adopt Me isn't all that bad?? Adopt me has some flaws, of course, like scammers etc etc, but scammers aren't really prominent in this game anymore. I started playing this game a week ago and it isn't even all that bad. I've not fallen for any scams BECAUSE THERE ARE NON! This may seem surprising but it's true; Adopt Me isn't a game game. Adopt me being a 'kids game' doesn't make it necessarily 'bad' too. Yes, the majority of the Adopt Me playerbase is obviously children, but I can see this game being enjoyed by all ages. Why? Because this game has fun expressive animations, fun activities, and trading. But wait! Isn't Adopt Me a gambling game and is just a trading game? No, it isn't, the different pets are purely cosmetics and the game passes don't give you boosts like 2x money gain. They're more like DLC's. For instance, the VIP game pass. The VIP game pass gives you a limo, a cool name tag, a cool house, and access to the VIP area in the nursery. And the special pets and potions that can only be obtained via robux can be obtained by trading. Now, is trading bad? It actually depends. Trading in Adopt Me isn't all that bad. Trading is the only way free to play players can collect pets and items only accessible via robux, which is a plus, but it also comes with possible scams. Of course scams happen everyday, but it's a lot less than you may think. Adopt Me has great features to prevent scams, like the timer that makes sure you double check if your trade is to your liking. Reporting scams are even possible. If you want to know how, I'd advise watching a tutorial. Wait a second... am I, the author of this post, a biased Adopt Me lover? No, I am just a regular everyday gamer. My favourite Roblox game is HOURS, a combat game, a completely different genre from Adopt Me. Switching topics, I can see why players LOVE Adopt Me. Adopt Me has micro transactions, yes, but every single game needs to have some sort of income. The reason why Adopt Me isn't like Pet Sim is because the pets are cosmetic. They don't give you a boost at all!
2:55 my goal is also to hit 100k well im not having that good of a start but i will keep uploading until i reach enough views to maybe get on someones recommend page ! keep up the work ghost i love this video quite interesting because i didnt knew a few things yet !!
I’ve played adopt me even since like, 2017. When you had to rent houses, when pets werent there, and i Can tell you that this game is boring as all heck. Most of the game now is just trading and trading and trading, players Care WAYYYY more about the Rarity of a pet than the pet itself. I dont personally like the bat dragon design, but i wanted a bat dragon SOOOOO bad. Why? Because it was rare. Its a game of constantly switching servers and trading over and over and over for the rarest pet. And its first boring, than soul draining. Its a fun game outside of the mindless trading loop. But its hard to ignore when all the okayers in every server are in the same place and trading. They seriously lost me at mega-neon pets. (You have to have 4 full grown pets of the same species to make a neon, and 4 FULL GROWN OETS OF THE SAME SPECIES TO MAKE A MEGA NEON. Making 16 pets just for a pet that has glowing rainbow parts that dont even look good on a lot of pets because of color pallettes COOUGH COUGH BAT DRAGON COUGH COUGH)
I agree and the game is just kindaaaaaaa pointless I mean you spend hours raising your pet, then you trade trade trade trade tradeeee till you get your dream pet but after you get your dream pet what do you do? nothing yeah its pointless
I agree, the only mega neon I truly love is the lavender dragon. Plus even then most neons anymore don't look good on pets, mostly the newer ones like the kraken and such and such, though that could be just me
As someone who’s been playing the game since 2018, I think the constant updates and events also help its popularity. They ALWAYS have events and new items to keep players on for even more time (coming from someone who’s played events like crazy in order to actually get items to avoid having nothing by the end like I did in the 2019 Halloween event)
Sammmmeeee, I remember the rent for houses and I think at one point in time you could take a shower in the lake at the adopt me center though I don't know about that one
I love adopt me, its genuinely my favorite game, yea you can get scammed but they have a policy and you should know what is a scam and what is not, the pets in it are super cute, and the ability to build whatever you want is a cherry on top!
It's just fun to sit cozy and actually feel your own style, without that feeling i can see how it can be boring. It's a memorable game for alot and I dont want to see it dye out anymore and gambling for pricey pets. Thank goodness there's still relatable players around
As someone who’s been playing adopt me since like 2018 (before pets were even added) I think it’s cool that someone made a genuine video not just shitting on the game- don’t get me wrong, adopt me has tons of flaws, but all games do and many of the flaws are things they can’t really do anything about (mainly talking abt the scammers- though I recently found out if you say “trust trade” it won’t appear above your head in adopt me anymore) and I totally agree with the fact that some things are monetized unfairly but overall the game itself is really well made and a fun thing I enjoy playing in my free time. I have no problem with people having their own opinions on the game but no one ever rlly talks seriously about adopt me which you have to agree is a bit unfair- so I really like how this video was made and all the points it expressed ^^
i liked it but after the desert eggs it started to just overload updates when unnecessary and made it much more prone to burn out, which stopped me from playing, because i simply couldnt keep up to the point where i just quit x
I'm one of the og adopt me players, been playing for 6 years now. the game has always won my heart, this is the only roblox game that had me playing since today! I'm not keeping up with the updates but i still play the game regularly because there's so much to play. i appreciate the devs for adding a bunch of updates but not changing the game too drastically. the map is still the same, the mechanics and economy are still the same. it feels nostalgic in some way, which is a good thing! it was boring for quite sometimes back in 2021-2022 bc of the lack of updates but now they keep updating weekly which is even more interesting
to anyone wondering the popularity record of adopt me compared to a popular roblox game now, Dress to Impress' giant Halloween update only got up to 1.1M players.
The reason I still play Adopt Me is because it's a very simple game. You raise pets, decorate your house, and repeat. New pets come out a lot, Adopt Me actually listens to their player base, etc. Some may say it's pay to win, which is kind of true, at the same time though it's understandable that you wouldn't be able to buy stuff from EVERY update, it even happens to me. I wasn't able to get a bush elephant when it came out, but I ended up underpaying for a neon ride one and getting it through trade! (Also some people need to understand Adopt Me is a job when it comes down to the devs.) Not getting scammed is very simple when you think about it, just don't trust anyone and look up ways people could scam you, so you wouldn't fall for it. I haven't gotten scammed for my pets in years because of this. Neon pets and mega pets are very cute as well, they never get old. Yes there are certain limits I have to Adopt Me, I'm not playing it for hours on end and I often do get tired of playing when I play for awhile, so I switch to playing on other games like an obby or something. Edit: Forgot to mention I know there's certain things Adopt Me needs to add, like a bigger furniture limit, nevertheless it's still a good game. You can achieve anything in Adopt Me as long as you put your mind into it and work hard. It took me years to get neon arctic reindeer back, but some got better pets in that time! You never have nothing to do on Adopt Me, there's so many pets to age and collect. I've been playing ever since 2019, I know it isn't really much peoples cup of tea, but I just had to add my two cents in as a player of the game. Id play Adopt Me over Da hood and MM2 any day!💕
I used to play it a lot until i realize how time consuming it can be to age up pets especially legendaries, my school work kept increasing and i decided to quit
I would like to acknowledge how far adopt me has come. Remember the old stores, and the houses, and how pets completely changed the game??? Everything in this game has been updated repeatedly, consistently, and has been constantly improved on since it came out. I have huge respect for the updates. case closed.

its crazy how much youve grown the past 6 months or so, i discovered you when you had 10k subs or so (around the classic event) and in that timespan you got to over 60k subs and kept a constant growing viewership with unique and interesting videos. keep it up man i think you will get the 100k really fast🙏🙏
@@OceanSea_ i used to play adopt me often even before the pets came out but once i lost one of my favorite pets i kinda just quit, i mean i did play at random times with my friends but now i dont because it doesnt feel the same without the pet i worked so hard for that i lost due to a stupid trade i made
I think one of the biggest reasons for adopt me still having a lot of players is trading and building. There is a whole community for each category 😭 and they are good at it ngl.
Adopt me is my favorite game ❤️ Also thank you for being respectful!! When I watch TH-camrs often time I see them hating on something and just really hating on it like having no respect for the people who like/play it and you did an amazing job with this video just for this video I will like and subscribe good job! ❤
I’ve been a player since 2018 and to put it simply, the multiple updates every week and the grinding principle is the thing that makes me come back every couple months to burn out on. Another game we’ve probs all played but literally the polar opposite of adopt me, flee the facility, has no updates, has no principle other than fun, is also still known.. so I guess we’ll never really know what a game needs to be to be forever popular. The only pattern I’ve recognized is that all popular games have had popular influencers and content creators play them and they’re mainly OG games.
People do, the backbone of all adopt me players “neon and mega makers” these people grind their asses off doing tasks to get their pets taken care of and leveled up. And some people, mainly children. Still do actually RP and take care, though still, traders are still the majority lol.
One of the many MANY reasons people still play adopt me is because there are some people (along with the many TH-camrs who play it) that are so SO rich in it that they just can’t afford to quit playing. There are people out there who practically dedicate their life to adopt me. Let’s say someone has a mega bat dragon. That pet is so SO RARE that whoever has it just can’t stop playing. Not when they have a pet as good as that. And the other huge amount of people who play it are the people who either build in adopt me a lot or trade nonstop trying to get rich and have a pet like a mega bat dragon. Hope this helped on why it’s so popular.
Adopt me is popular because the majority of the Roblox player base is children, so if you can make somethings that appeals to that demographic, you win big. Your Roblox game doesn't need to be good to be successful, children will eat up whatever has bright, flashy, oversaturated colors, throw on a bunch of microtransactions and boom, you won the Roblox metagame. Adopt me is a perfect example of this, I personally don't think adopt me is even close to being one of the best games on Roblox (arsenal will always hold that title), but much of Roblox's child audience would say it is, and those people are the majority of Roblox, which is why adopt me is so popular.
@@LukeMP2008 youre doing the same as the child audience by saying “arsenal better, kids game ew”, adopt me is actually pretty complex in terms of how it was made and has a ton of active events, its just different than your arsenal, no big deal. you cant shit on kids for saying “ooh adopt me is the best game” if youre doing the same with arsenal and other games because “eww!! children like children games, tsk i could NEVER”
@@ditah "I personally don't think adopt me is even close to being one of the best games on Roblox" (arsenal will always hold that title) keywords "I PERSONALLY" It's my opinion, I never said arsenal was objectively the best game on Roblox, that's purely subjective. What I was trying to say in my comment is that like 75% of the top playing games on Roblox are all clearly targeted toward kids with their bright oversaturated colors. Now I have no problem with games being targeted towards kids, they deserve game too, but when it's the majority of the front page, it starts to become a problem. If you look outside Roblox towards the rest of the gaming community, the common consensus is that Roblox is a cringy baby game that shouldn't be taken seriously, And who can blame them, when the majority of the front page is full of bright overly saturated colors with cringy thumbnails, your gonna think that's all Roblox has to offer and there's nothing else to it. And then these people miss out on amazing games like arsenal and mm2 because of these types of games being spammed on the front page. Again I don't have a problem with kids games being on Roblox, Roblox is a kids game after all, however, because these games fill up the front page of Roblox, It worsens its reputation, witch I think sucks because a lot of people miss out on the opportunity to see what Roblox is capable of. Also saying I was "making fun of adopt me kids because they think the game is good" shows you clearly misunderstood my comment, I was simply restating that most of adopt me's fanbase is kids, I wasn't making fun of it, that's just a fact.
@@LukeMP2008 im not gonna talk to noone with a 12 year old boy’s mentality on “gaming”😭 goodbye LMAO whattt if the roblox front page bothers u sm then u should go outside, personally id say theres bigger problems both irl and in roblox (nsfw games overtaking front page - in that case even the kids games being front page are better)
Slight note on the Roblox Studio and blender part, using Blender has much more value than base Roblox Studio than you think, parts and unions are extremely laggy and too much of them, especially when making large maps can cause a lot of lag. Meshes however, are much better in terms of optimization than parts, though parts are flexible, some things are just unachievable without using meshes.
Simple answer: there are many preppy pets and items and the preppy aesthetic is trendy and cute and the pets are usually not super rare so it’s easy for them to play which makes it addicting
5:03 i play adopt me and I say that recently, the events have been unfair. Having to wait 40 minutes for a mini game or age up a common is something ONLY adopt me players do, any other normal player would think it's literally insane. Something I wanna add is I think a big reason people hate adopt me is the players. Do I agree? YES. The players are terrible, for such a baby-ish game you find the rudest players ever, people using you for what you own is COMMON and it's a genuine fear for some players. They're ungrateful, hypocritical and just really annoying (the older ones)
I’m just here to point one thing out, and that is that Uplift Games (Adopt Me’s Devs) is one of the few game companies in roblox that aren’t really greedy, The highest price I’ve seen is like 1200 robux, and you get what you pay for, besides they’ve got tons of employees they’ve got to pay because they LIVE off of Adopt Me. They’ve also donated thousands (30-50k) of dollars to tons of foundations.

i’ve been playing adopt me for a little over half its lifespan (~3.8 years) and i gotta say, even after all the coolest pets behind paywalls, the fucked up trades and almost losing it all to scams, and overhaul of old features and map redesign…i still find myself wanting to play it. it’s one of the best "roleplay" games for how popular it is. the pets are unique, the community is…something, and most of the in-game events (especially the winter events) are actually really fun and engaging. oh also it’s had me in a chokehold for this long thanks to the daily streak. i’ve grown attached to it. my longest ever was 997 and the one after that (current) is at about 450. i think my only complaint is that all the constant motion lags out my device, but then again, so does everything else :’)

Yes, scams are very much present, but it doesnt happen as often as it used to (though i know scams will always be around unfortunately) but yeah good video. I liked it, maybe ill subscribe too :D Nice opinion bro!
yea more people are wayyy more aware than before someone tried scamming me 1 month ago
and uplift game developers are constantly trying to prevent scams from happening, like adding warnings when a trade seems “unfair” or if you say “trust trade” or “pick a door” it will not let u say it and will pop up with a warning. they also put limits on bucks you can spend in a certain amount of time, so obviously they are trying really hard to prevent scams.
I approve.
Not only adopt me... Natural disaster, hide and seek. Are still popular. But adopt me is doing it really good.
murder mystery 2 as well
If by popular you mean relevant, then yeah. It came from nostalgia, Natural disaster was a good game choice to be played by youtubers while Hide And Seek Extreme comes from a game we all played in real life as kids, why wouldnt you search it up on Roblox?

Of course money gives benefits on rich players but also the ones that doesn’t spend money on it can get rich if they use the right methods.

I agree, I think that would actually be quite a good idea. I used to play that game as a kid and would love to see what happened to it and where it went. I already expect the answer to be things like no updates etc like most games.
I used to play and I assume the huge dip in players is because they decided to rerelease the whole game, and mostly every players data was lost
Hence why it’s now called overlook bay 2
I remember playing their Halloween event, it was so good!! I think that was maybe back in 2020-2021? I genuinely forget but honestly I don't understand why it had such a major downfall.
Honestly it's just best to not trade anymore and just focus on the new pets, it's what I do
Short answer: little kids + constant updates + always a chance to get something you want to (like i got a fr axolotl after those went offsale)
im an adopt me player and imma say one thing while many thing they are popular they keep making pets ridiculously hard to get wich forces players to spend hours upon hours if they didnt do this their player count would drop alot more
As an Adopt Me player who recently came back i honestly have a love hate relationship to it even though its entirely hated for its playerbase and trading concept i find it really enjoyable that i found peope enjoying it other ways without trading, sometimes i RP with my pets and cosplay as OCs or characters, even grinding by myself without trading whenever a new weekly update drops (the part i hate the most) and building houses in the game its what making me addicted to the game again after leaving for 2 years, it was probably the best choice to come back to the game since im more of a grinding game type of player after dropping other gacha games also it got me more interested when it dropped teeny bit of lore to the game (theres a whole video to the ADM lore + Frostclaw's Fury)
Stickers 💀 Bro moved on
Lol that game is like a repeating phase for me
I played Adopt Me with my sister before it became well.....a pet adoption game.
I’ve grown attached to it. my longest ever was 997 and the one after that (current) is at about 450. I think my only complaint is that all the constant motion lags out my device, but then again, so does everything else :’)
the fact that it has not died or the developer hasn't quit Roblox is crazy
The crazy thing about it Adopt Me has around 100k-200k players for the past 3 years and it’s not actually going down or up
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ROBLOX GAME???
If I'm being honest people just think this is solely a kids game, no, there's actually a really complicated trading side to adopt me that I'm apart of and people still don't understand why I play the game so much. It's genuinely so fun when you trade and successfully upgrade to your goal using your own experience instead of value websites.
Which eventually overtook Meepcity.
i used to have SO much fun at meepcity parties
@@amberfrost7772 That is not what they meant. The original comment said that they think Meep city was inspired by Adopt Me. Which is not true. It’s the other way around in fact.
Adopt Me! Nowadays is just adopt a pet instead and abandon your so called child to death. And microtransactions are also included of course, pretty self explanatory.
Nah, it’s just a pet trading game
@@Uncommon072 yeah, I think it was a little too much lol.
Throwing your child into the river simulator!
Isn't the name adopt me still correct though? Ur still adopting something and that's a pet
@@darling.............. You're not wrong. But now it's more of a gamble to make transactions than adopting a pet.
I remember playing adopt me in 2018 before the pets existed. I was there for the pets countdown too, and everyone was SO HYPED and honestly the pets have probably kept the popularity.
If you are planning to play adopt me you should read this:
I have to say, I started adopt me 2020.
THANK YOU. finally someone addressed this. basically no one even plays this game how it was intended to be anymore. it's boring.
Well said! I've been playing adopt me since the 2019 halloween update, and it's really depressing to see what adopt me has become.
Another game that will never die is Murder Mystery 2, having been on the front page for nearly 10 years.
Will probably die if the owner just stops

I dont trade much but for me I like the designs of the pet so I will trade but usually I dont trade much i only come for the tasks I get for my pet or roleplaying
not for me
I personally use adopt me for skits, it has a lot of resources.
I joined in 2019 right after the
pets were added and I really wanna see old adopt me I don't know what it feels like but there r some places that don't exist rn but they did in 2019 😭
As someone who recently plays Adopt me.

They ALWAYS have events and new items to keep players on for even more time (coming from someone who’s played events like crazy in order to actually get items to avoid having nothing by the end like I did in the 2019 Halloween event)
i’ve been playing adopt me since 2018 lol

I love adopt me, its genuinely my favorite game, yea you can get scammed but they have a policy and you should know what is a scam and what is not, the pets in it are super cute, and the ability to build whatever you want is a cherry on top!
Adopt me turned from a role play game to a grinder game
It's just fun to sit cozy and actually feel your own style, without that feeling i can see how it can be boring. It's a memorable game for alot and I dont want to see it dye out anymore and gambling for pricey pets. Thank goodness there's still relatable players around
As a person that plays way too much adopt me for it to be healthy. I feel like it’s more of a addiction

You can say the same with beeswarm as its still a good game even tho its one of the first simulation game
(Also some people need to understand Adopt Me is a job when it comes down to the devs.)
Not getting scammed is very simple when you think about it, just don't trust anyone and look up ways people could scam you, so you wouldn't fall for it.

People do, the backbone of all adopt me players “neon and mega makers” these people grind their asses off doing tasks to get their pets taken care of and leveled up. And some people, mainly children. Still do actually RP and take care, though still, traders are still the majority lol.
I love doing the tasks its not for grinding I just like it because the sound effect and I like the idea of a virtual pet like that
One of the many MANY reasons people still play adopt me is because there are some people (along with the many TH-camrs who play it) that are so SO rich in it that they just can’t afford to quit playing. Hope this helped on why it’s so popular.
i only play it for fun tbh and i dont trade much
Short answer: kids.

True finally a decent comment :D
@@LukeMP2008 youre doing the same as the child audience by saying “arsenal better, kids game ew”, adopt me is actually pretty complex in terms of how it was made and has a ton of active events, its just different than your arsenal, no big deal. you cant shit on kids for saying “ooh adopt me is the best game” if youre doing the same with arsenal and other games because “eww!! children like children games, tsk i could NEVER”
right @@ditah
Yea its cuz of me yall i play adopt me every day
your still stupid for playing it, and fix your grammar
Lol
