Pretty sure those commercials were aired around the time lego Star Wars was just stating to become a thing, so of course they went all out to help get it going
I honestly think it looks better than the scenes in episode 4 and 6. I know it's not far to compare 1978 effects to 2010's cgi, but that doesn't stop that explosion from looking cute as heck.
My head is filled with “take on the enemy” and “new from lego star wars and “each sold separately” and “man the cockpit” and “the new lego star wars collection”
"YOU CONTROL THE ACTION" was my era. I didn't speak english at that time but I loved it. Seeing those huge battlefields made from real LEGO was dream material and the amount of animation was fitting imo. I also think with the narration and the presentation of they features they had a good flow and you learned about the set. That got worse imo opinion.
Oh man. 2004-2013 is just pure nostalgia for me. Getting the major sets for Christmas or birthdays and the battle packs in between. Watching these commercials counting down the days till Christmas to see if that set would be under the tree. Ugh I miss be a kid. Wish I could go back. The 2000s was the last good decade before technology and social media destroyed the culture we live in
Completely agree. I remember being so excited to wake up on Christmas morning to open up Lego Star Wars sets, or even just using my allowance that I'd saved up for weeks just to go out and buy small sets to take them over to my best friend's house and we'd play for hours and make stories. Good times.
I love how most of them are “Help the Jedi defeat the evil droids” but then out of nowhere there are “help the droids capture the Jedi as prisoners and fly away in the new droid fighter set”.
I like how in the older ones they acknowledge that people usually think the bad guy troops and ships are cooler and say you can command the empire or the CIS.
@@asaknight321 yeah I wouldn't say it's "bad bad" it just felt... "eh" Just instead of playing part of their specialty it just felt like it turned into a really boring typical marketing commercial for kids

It was bittersweet, but the pair of brothers from the church I went to at the time really appreciated it so they went to good hands.
