Doc's clawhammer technique is a thing of beauty, so gentle but nice and loud and his meoldy notes are CLEAN AF! Amazing!
The double thumbing is fantastic
@@parkinglotparticlebeamLooks like drop thumbing to me, double thumbing is done on drone string, me thinks...😊
I just started learning clawhammer, and almost every beginners lesson I find says it’s absolutely imperative that you don’t pluck with your thumb, and then here’s doc plucking away and it sounds great. Haha
Shit wait what? No plucking with the thumb? What am I doing wrong :(
This song is mentioned in the book Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier on page 380. Doc was a very special musician.
Doc is so great at clawhammer too! I love this! ❤️🎶
My favorite cut from that live recording. Badass 🎉
I love this XD
So good.
oh yeah,
Thanks, Bill ! ~
Electric Bass has NO place in acoustic music especially Doc Watson's.
Doc was the boss, he must of wanted it in there. Michael Coleman played with Doc for years.
Unfortunate about that intrusive bass-ruins Doc's performance-no respect.
