They were a US brand. Think of sponge cake with a cream filling. They were developed by Hostess. Unfortunately, Hostess filed for bankruptcy about a month or so ago. So, there are no more Hostess products in production. Deep fried twinkies were incredibly popular at fairs and festivals here in the states during the summer.

You're thinking of Almond Joys or Mounds for the Bounty Bar. The difference between Mounds and Almond Joys is that Almond Joys have almonds and is milk chocolate with coconut, whereas Mounds are just dark chocolate with coconut.
I live in the UK and and have tried lots of revels, I see what you mean about the minstrels but now Galaxy have made Counters which taste exactly like the chocolate revels :)
Now I want a candy bar! XD loved both of these videos! I wonder if you can get any of these from world market... I get a lot of Japanese Chocolates there... I should check it out XD.

Only when I was little. I remember buying several bags both times I saw them cuz the first time I thought they looked interesting. And the second time I bought more than the first time cuz it was a year later. So I stocked up on them ad stuck them in the freezer :p. btw this video got you a new subscriber. :D

yes! the traditional ones are just chocolate. then there are peanut in the middle, peanut butter, dark chocolate, mint, raspberry, almond, and pretzel! they also had crispy ones with a little rice puff in the middle, but i don't know if they make them anymore. I actually liked those ones!

just a few words about American chocolate since you guys are into this topic (scuse the pun); Mars Bars = Milky way; Milky way = Three Musketeers; (from spacescapes to French cavaliers was quite a leap); Bounty = Almond Joy (- 1 almond); Maltesers = Whoppers (- real chocolate and melty honeycomb center. Most chocolate is made by Hershey in Mexico (and tastes nothing like Cadbury's or Rowntree's (which is sweet, creamy and moreish like good cheddar cheese). Great Video W'S'T'

The United States has not yet caught on to the delightful combination of chocolate and hazelnut. Why? I have no idea. We do have the Cadbury Creme Eggs, but there is a distinct difference in the quality of the chocolate made by Cadbury (owned by Nestle) here in the States, and the delightful chocolate produced there in the UK. Anglophile stores here import it from the UK directly.
