nice video... beautiful dances and i'm sure there are influence of that in flamenco dance (thanks to gipsies who arrived in andalusia), but flamenco music (and dance too) has a lot of different ritmical, harmonical and cultural influences: arab harmonies, iberic folklore music and dance (thats the origins) and more recent influence bring back after 19th century when flamenco is born) like south american colors (in guajiras and tangos is obvious)... all the influences which go through Andalusia

Indo Iranian? this is in Andalucia, flamenco just exist in south of Spain... I never see flamenco in Iran or India... when Gypsies were in Persia and India, flamenco did'nt exist.
flamenco is borned and developped in andalusia, and what let happen that miracle (for me)? all the different influences: Andalusia is a very mixed and culturally rich place like flamenco music... thats my thoughts

It was not saying that sinti/roma were using flamenco as a front. Keep in mind prostitution,drunkardness,stealing and murder appear in every culture. None are excluded.
Hi Marco, watch "FLAMENCO DANCE AND INDIAN DANCE- INDIA TO SPAIN" on youtube. Kathak is one of the many styles of Indian dance which may have given birth to flamenco. Karthak was a sacred dance with detailed hand gestures called( Mudras) which told the story visually. " KATHAK DANCE by URMILA SHARMA" is an excellent video and the music is awesome. Pay close attention to the hand movement. After youve watched them please feel free to get back to me with your thoughts.
Defender80s is right.Andalucia may have been a Sinti/Roma stronghold just as Cordova and Granada were Jewish strongholds while the Moors(Muslim) controlled the whole of Spain.These three group represent what Is "Spanish Culture" The Old traditional sacred dance forms brought from India has been reduced to unitelligable poorly transmitted gestures which we now call Flamenco.
