My wife is a 1L and we’ve been married for seven years with two kids under 8yrs old. This is by far, the toughest challenge we’ve had in our marriage. I’m supporting her financially through it, but without kids I could see where we could make time for each other…but it’s literally impossible. And I haven’t felt more depressed because it feels like our connection is lost.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I will say though, 1L is definitely the worst year out of the three. From there it gets so much better and she'll have more flexibility with her time and schedule. I'm a 3L now with my first child who is now 8 months. We have time for date nights, trips, etc. Y'all can and will get though it.

I think it all comes down to a couple's priorities & understanding. If both parties don't share the same priorities/ set goals, then the relationship will not work.

    Hello !
Super great video and tips !
I do have a question though, you said you like to be a little more traditional so you make the meals/clean/etc.. but you never mentioned what he does? Does he pay for everything or what is his contribution?
Also in terms of being traditional, I’m just in undergrad (and single) and I barely have time to wash and properly cook meals (when I make food for myself it’s ultra basic stuff). So I’m wondering how you do it/what types of things you make/what this means for your routine?
    Thank you !

It’s all about being equally yoked with your partner. It’s that simple!

I’m very happy you’re still your man a year later. Sadly people are going to wish for your marriage to fail to to prove liven wrong. I hope the best for you both. From your black sister. ❤️
