BYB , A question .... Do you think coins like the new Benedetto pistrucci from the Royal mint are better being kept original or being sent for grading?
Yea it’s expensive I wouldn’t recommend this for someone who stacks 1-5ozs a month. Ping stick would be a good cheap method of testing as well for a lot cheaper
Can use an ultrasonic thickness gauge for bars. They are not very expensive. And for coins as mentioned above by Leonard, the ping test is great for coins
Many years ago I had the basic model then upgraded to the Pro. I bought it direct from Sigma at half the price of your UK bought machine. My US version has oz, grams, and you can set the exact weight manually. Tip buy a custom size screen protector only a couple of quid, you will thank me later.
They really are an awesome piece of kit. A little out of my price range unfortunately, but I would love to get one in the future. Great video as always mate 👍
Must work on ultrasound Do they do a digital reading of thickness. Then you can cross reference against known thickness. Then you can tell if a item is plated
I still not got around getting a Sigma yet, its 1k out of my budget range, on the other hand selling coins and bars have slowed down for me yet selling gold jewellery has picked up, great gadget maybe one day.
Have you ever had a chance to study Goldbacks? High premiums but they allow a cheaper buy in for those want to own some gold. They seem interesting and possibly best as a long term investment since their value follows fold since they are gold sheets.
Someone in a Facebook group is selling 1/10th gold American Eagles for $205 a pop. Im so tempted to give it a shot but i dont have a sigma yet. Ugggh...
Not bad for the money, I get my bullion from reputable dealers, so I'm hopeful I have no fakes. When are you selling again? I've been saving up, ready to pounce. 😂

that thing's worth more than my "stack!"

Can this work for an item in assay?
Yes, generally it can
Very nice bit of kit BY.
Could buy seven more sovereigns for that!

Apparently for coin weights if you press the right hand arrow key it jumps over to grams??? It was on a US silver channel though

They are garbage as an investment product. I would avoid them entirely
Greetings from Hollywood California
£2800 is a lot of money. For silver how does the much cheaper neodymium magnet test compare?
This was mesmerising
XRF is just a surface test machine...i didnt know that until i goggled it.
Thanks BYB
