It's just the shutter speed of the camera. I can do the same thing with my ceiling fan and a strobe light. Turn the lights off and change the speed of the strobe light and you can get the fan to appear moving forwards, backwards, or stay still.

Going so fast the belt feed appears to change direction Midway through the ammunition. I realize this is also a framerate issue, so in real life it probably doesn't appear to be going THAT fast, but it's still pretty impressive regardless of the videos framerate.
I love the design of this. The only thing I would change is the ramp that fires the sticks. If you rotated it 90* so the studs get pushed forward, instead of down, it might run a little smoother or shoot harder.

You could easily add a trigger function to this that pulls the chain into the firing mechanism, and pushes it out when the trigger isn't being pulled; this would make it so that you can spin up the weapon without unloading the belt, and allow for shorter bursts of fire!
For anyone who doesn't understand how this is shooting, you need to watch part 2 for a demonstration. The gun mechanism is not shooting the darts. The chain is holding parts I'd never seen before which are dart shooting blocks that have a spring inside. You flick the end to trigger the dart to fire. The darts hit the sloping block on top to trigger them and the spring in the chain mounted block shoots the dart.
They're keyholing because they lack aerodynamic stability. If you happen to not know what keyholing is, just type in "keyholing bullet" and you should find plenty of examples.
