2009 年北海道・札幌の同じ高校に入学し偶然出会った、中野ミホ(Vo&Gt)、荒谷朋美(Gt)、小田満美子(Ba)、石橋わか乃(Key)ら、 5 人で Drop's を結成。 高校 2 年生の夏休みに初めて作ったオリジナル楽曲『泥んこベイビー』で挑んだ高校生バンドコンテストでグランプリ獲得。2013年9月に1stフルアルバム『DAWN SIGNALS』でデビュー。2017年にドラマーが脱退。活動拠点を地元・札幌から東京に移し、新ドラマーとして石川ミナ子を迎える。新体制のお披露目となった4月1日にDrop's ONEMAN LIVE「HELLO,NEW SEASON」を開催し、即日ソールドアウト。新生Drop'sとしての再始動を「NEW SEASON」と題し、精力的に活動している。

Sorry if the translation a little off, I'm still learning and had to look a lot of things up. Japanese also doesn't use a lot of pronouns and in songs they like to mix up the order of words and omit some particles so it makes it a little tough. But I had fun doing this and I hope you enjoy it. :)

Holy. Shite. That's it. Japan is now sole producer of good, fresh and listenable guitar based music in the freakin world! From blues to rock and punk to metal.. So much talent coming out from Japan! And the best thing is that most of these bands are all women outfits!

確かに「嵐を受けてると」ではなく「嵐を受けて行こう（ゆこう）」と聞こえますね。

中野ミホさんは詩のセンスを持ってる。ブルースに乗せて自分の感性を言葉で語れる。
新生で楽曲が変わっても、言葉が豊かなことは、大きな強みだと思います。

Excellent jam session. Love the way she handles that Les Paul. To me that is how Gibson should sound. It shows that she must have heavily background of hard rock, blues, southern rock and metal influences.

Not at all. I'm mostly an old school punk rock guy just getting exposed to the Japanese rock scene, and happily blown away by the talent. The guitarist here (Araya) is really really good, and the singer (Miho) is off the charts. Good songwriting too which is everything. If this isn't vocal versatility I don't know what is. (I've skipped the intros to some of the songs because some of them need, imho, to be pared down a bit)

"Drops"/"Band-Maid"/"Shonen Knife"/"Tsushimamire"/"PuffyAmiYumi"--U.S. is musically bankrupt
Couple of bands there I don't know that I will check out.... You can add Bridear, PolkadotStingray, Wagakki Band & Boris to that list also..... I'm sure there are many others too.
Not just the US.... I live in Australia & it's the same here I remember so many good bands like Drops back in the 90's. Now it's the the same old shit being regurgitated over & over again by shows like X-factor, The voice & Pop Stars..... It's really pathetic.
The standard of musician / band in Japan is way above the standard in the west now.... I'm not saying there isn't good stuff still out there but it's certainly far harder to find it & way less promoted by the labels.
I'm the same, Jrock is the best, and the women are the best. I recommend Mutant Monster to check out also, plus my guilty favorite Scandal.. who does not love them?. But Drops? They are awesome! I listen everyday!
Yeah, I've recently become obsessed too. It's pretty difficult to find places that stream Japanese music though. Go!Go!7188 & the Polysics have some cool stuff. Discovered a couple punk bands from the 80s that were awesome キャ→ / and ナース.
Really glad I saw your comment and all the replies. The only one I heard of before was Shonen Knife. Got a ton of bands to check out now!
Keep digging there is tons of great stuff to listen to especially if you enjoy some good guitar playing :)
I love how many incredibly good all girl bands there are in Japan.... There certainly way better & way more humble than in the west. Drop's and Polkadotstingray are 2 of my fav's at the moment I can't stop listening to either of them lately
If you like a bit of metal you really need to go listen to Bandmaid & Bridear.... Mitsuru out of Bridear is the happiest shredding metal guitarist you will ever see lol.... Search for there live show BrideaR @ Made In Asia 2017 Belgium & skip to 9min 20.... The first solo is there other guitarist Misa who is also an outstanding guitarist (she's left the band now) but after that is Mitsuru. It's classic stuff :D
