Oh, this dressing sounds wonderful! And I'm so happy I'm not the only person who lives these types of meals. Really, they are what I make most of the time. Thank you!
Is Steve coming back? i loved to see both.. i have an elder brother and i learnt a lot by seeing your bond... It helped me build a stronger bond with my brother... Ofcourse ur recepies are awesome and u both do good justice to the videos...
Just made it now! wow! superb! i cannot find tempeh here in Mexico (well maybe in Mexico city but im far from there, live in Baja), so i replaced it with vegan burger patties! worked fine! it was delicious! so grateful for your recipes!!
Yep avocado hand is a thing. Just like several years ago there was bagel hand when people were eating bagels like mad. I turn whatever knife I’m using around and score the avocado with the back of the knife. Works like a charm and not sharp.
When I commented before it was just coz it looked good. Now I have made it and can confirm it is really good. There is spice but not overpowering. Kale tastes great. I never knew what to do with kale so thanks for this tip. I actually doubled up because of a large bag of kale so I have lunch for 3 days. Because there are so many different flavours in this bowl I will not get bored of eating the same meal. Yes more protein bowl ideas. Thinks one was me to recipe I think.
Yay thank you for writing up the recipes! 🙌🏼 if you ever need anyone to do them more than happy too haha love your videos so much, keen to see another bowl as well, I love seeing the combinations, great way for leftovers, keep up the awesome work guys! ☺️
wow when you said you were changing up the videos when I met you in Ireland just couple weeks ago, you really meant it Dave! I like seeing you do videos on your own. I love you botch thought !!! keep up the awesome content ! - Alda & Mikel
Excellent solo effort, Dave! Dish looks super yummy. Something I never imagine me doing is buying and using kale on a regular basis. Ha ha. I haven't steamed it like that but I imagine it tastes good with the garlic and cooked for just a few minutes. Must try. Thanks for another great cooking lesson.
Your best is perfect!!! I'm still trying to like tempeh, so this is welcome! Kale is also a challenge, so this is good timing! Hells yeah to the peanut butter!
Fab recipe! Gutted that I can't get tempeh anywhere these days, the only place I could find that sold it has discontinued the stuff. Tofu will have to do (the organic stuff, obvs!) Thanks for sharing as always x
This bowl looks soooo good!! Dave, I cannot have soy products...any other suggestions? I have just bought some jack fruit to try, but am looking for anything else to supplement as well. Also, what kind of (brand) of salt do you use...is it a sea salt? Thanks for all you do!!!!!!
It's Birthday Supper and this turned out Amazingly well (for me) I couldn't find any Kim-chi locally so I had to use saurkraut . The meal is excellent!!! I made vegan Carrot cake for dessert!
omg-oodness, Dave! ❤it!!! I've got Tempeh, minced garlic, chick peas, kimchi (and purple cabbage), but no fresh kale (sigh), but I have frozen organic kale, so that'll work!🙄 I also have coconut milk, red chili's, limes...all The necessary fixin's! Thanks!🌶
First of all, I love you guys and everything you stand for. My question is though, why make videos focused on getting protein? I remember you made a video ages ago where you stated that vegans who had a well balanced diet would always got enough protein.
Emil Smith Nielsen if people are weightlifters or work out a lot they usually have a lot of protein in their diet. You could also make it for someone who goes "but protein tho"
Kimchi is pickled cabbage, basically, isn't it? I've never seen it for sale, I think, but I can get jars of pickled red cabbage, would that make an acceptable substitute? This looks amazing, though, I'm definitely gonna have to give this a go, it looks delicious. Another question coz I'm annoying, is this filmed in roughly real-time? Does it take only ten minutes to make this? Great job.
Daniel Gould kimchi is Korean picked cabbage, so it has quite a distinct Korean taste, using Korean chilli and paste that is traditional. It's quite unique but completely delicious!!
Great recipe !!! As a Type 2 Diabetic with Ketoacidosis, I cannot eat complex carbs (potatoes, breads, pasta, rice, etc.), and I have tried tofu, but it raised my blood sugar into the 400's and 600's. Will the Tempe or chick peas raise my blood sugars up that high ?
Everyone's body can react differently, especially when it comes to glucose and insulin levels. Tempeh is basically, tbh, fermented mouldy soy beans. It's not even broken down as much as tofu, but imo tastes much better. If you have spikes in glucose levels from other tinned beans, then I'd stay away from tempeh OR be certain to consciously beforehand with insulin.
Can any of my english vegan’s help me out with a good place to source some tempeh, they have stopped selling it in Holland & Barretts and can’t find it anywhere! Thanks for the recipe lads as always top work you legends 👍🏻
Mouth watering? Check ☑ Looks delicious? Check ☑ Need now? Check ☑ Have all ingredients? Damnit, no. 😔 Will I try this? Check ☑ ☑ ☑ I'm in love with these "bowl" dinners! So, shall you two lovely chaps have to do more? Why, Yes! Yes! Yes! Jenn 💖 in Canada 🍁
Would you make soy free protein meal ideas kind of video? Almost all high protein meal videos contain soy in some way. I have a condition that soy products decrease the absorption of iron in my body. This is a genetic condition commonly seen among the people where i live in. So i am not using soy. By the way i love your videos.💙 You always have the best recipes.
Ezgi, you can simply replace the soy product with another type of bean acceptable to your body chemistry. For example: black beans are a good sub for soy/tempeh; creamed/mashed cannelloni can easily sub tofu; rice milk can deliciously sub soy milk in any dish. I hope this helps.
Спас Янков Yes indeedy! Probably should use about half a block of firm or extra firm, drained and dried and cut small. He did mention you can use tofu but didn't give amount or kind, so the above is my best guess. Hope that helps ☺ Jenn 💖 in Canada 🍁
What a great, simple, easy recipe; and I love that it's not 50% rice/quinoa/whatevs. But... no Dave's Super Sauce (aka Tamari)?! Are you feeling ok? Do we need to send aid? Oh, and more Dave-only vids are quite fine. Maybe, though, just to increase view-rate, you could consider doing it shirtless? Just sayin'.... ;)
I like it when you are on your own. Then you don’t get interrupted.
Great recipe mate, fantastic job solo too. I only subscribed a couple of days ago and I’m hooked already. Keep up the great work 👍
Oh, this dressing sounds wonderful! And I'm so happy I'm not the only person who lives these types of meals. Really, they are what I make most of the time. Thank you!

alternatives to quinoa because it's way too expensive
Can i use cashews in sauce?
I love tofu! Sadly I am not a friend of tempeh.
Vegan Apple Pie steaming it before you use it in a recipe can help mellow the flavour if that’s the problem for you 😊
