    I wondered when solely referring to words such as curtain and mountain, shall we still skip the t-sound? I got a little bit confused when hearing curtain, ergo I went to look up the dictionary, and the t-sound remains. Is it safe to say that the skipping thing only applies to the daily conversation?

    • @RealLifeEnglish1
      @RealLifeEnglish1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You got it - it's totally fine to keep 't'. So, it's good to know that it's possible to skip it so you don't get surprised when you hear natives talking like that and understand the words where 't' sound is missed!

Where it is highlighted in blue, there should be red, and where there is red, there should be blue. I'm a little confused🙂

    Why don't you use IPA, International Phonetic Alphabet, IPA to write the sounds. What are /ee/ and /ih/? If you don't use IPA, You never teach pronuncation 100% right!

    • @RealLifeEnglish1
      @RealLifeEnglish1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment! I understand IPA is a standard, but sometimes students find it easier to use this phonetic system we use. But I agree, it's good to recognize both!

    • @nickdual
      @nickdual 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RealLifeEnglish1 Thank you for the answer. I am teaching IPA. I want to know your phonetic system. Could you share me your 44 letters = 44 letters in IPA? such as /ee/ = /i/, /ih/ = /ɪ/ ...
      I think English should accept letters from African alphabet, diversity to become perfect.
