Look for Brent Weinbach's 2004 special "Appealing to the Mainstream" if you've never seen him- you really, really should. It was on Amazon Prime video last time I saw it available to stream. He is beyond bizarre, but, in a really great way.
Bro is a genius. Ty youtube for recommending. His style of awkward comedy, blue comedy and smart comedy is on point. The audience was great too. Bro never paused for a sec!!!!!!! One of the best!
100%. Can you imagine sitting and trying to come up with this routine?? Its bonkers, unless he does it all off the top of his head which is even more insane
I watch comedy every evening after a long day- and there's been more medicinal value from that than any doctor or specialist I've been to. Just spent the last hour alone, per the usual, but actually laughing out loud and re-watching several parts. He's got something which I haven't seen in the majority of comedians...and I love it. The last part took me by surprise, and really 'hit home'. He's at the top of my long, long list. AMAZING. THANK YOU!!!!!!
I was just scrolling through comic vids and stumbled upon this gem! I laughed so hard when he started doing reggae that I had to shut it off for ten minutes so I could regain my composure. Funniest comic I've ever watched by a long shot! Hope he comes to Tucson!
His comedic timing is MAGICAL!!! My goodness, it was hilarious from start to finish (rare) WHEN. IS. THE TOUR?!?! Come to Atlanta (or upload more standup to hold us over until he tours)! Edit: just finished the special and am bawling. He seems so pure & I'm sure his mama is proud 💚💚💚
Sober joke is one of the best I’ve heard. I cannot believe how good this special is or how I haven’t heard of him… absolutely brilliant special. 10s all round. Thank you.
Chris Fairbanks you had me in STITCHES 😂😂 for 54 minutes straight - I was laughing so much I had cramps, and the last 15 seconds you had me in tears 😭 😭 that was magnificent!!! 👍 👍
I've never heard of this guy, but he made me legitimately laugh a few times which despite my love of comedy doesn't always happen. Hope to see more from him soon.
@@danielvalleduarte Yeah sorry that's a terrible and confusing sentence I put together. I was just saying that even though I love comedy and consume a metric f%#k -ton of it, I don't usually laugh. Fairbanks got a few legit laughs out of me. Usually I'll sit through a whole hour of comedy enjoying it, but not laughing.
This was a wonderful set. Hes way smarter than I look. Clever. Dry. sharp. I loved it all. >>>. Rescue Cactus ?? Good grief. Solid all the way. I will watch this again. Thanks. Chris .
I listen to A LOT of stand up. This guy made me laugh till i was cried! Then a couple minutes later, HE F*****G DID IT AGAIN! thanks man, you made me very happy!!
More reggae!!! Lmao! And so many great jokes. And the end was so real - and I cried with him at the end. And he pulled it together. And I love him so much.
This was the third time I’ve listened all the way through… and it’s still one of my faves. Lots of laughs. Cannot wait to see more of Chris’s comedy in the future.
What a legend! I should NOT have watched this while eating dinner. Almost choked to death multiple times. I listen to a pretty wide variety of comedians, and Chris is the second best I've ever heard. Also, his smile is just so kind and infectious. Almost a Steve Carrell vibe going on?
I first read this comment as referencing a "ROGAN joke" and wondered if you meant it was a bit _about_ Joe Rogan (I hoped) or one that you claimed was cribbed from Rogan's old stand-up material? I was about to find this comment again and ask you what the joke was, in moderate frustration. The expectation of maybe hearing a good bit clowning on Joseph Rogan kept me interested in finishing this whole special even though I'm tired, and I'm still going to blame _you_ for that. I was ready for a rumble in the comments section (dangit!) but instead I'm going to put on a podcast that is definitely not exclusive to Spotify and go to sleep. Pffft!
This guy demands you pay attention and trust him with his flow. I'd wager he is meticulous in his writing. Face paced, silly, awkward, with well placed tripwires. Love it!!
Wow! He is really something else, totally original, and his imagination is just.. You'll maybe hesitate in the beginning, but he's constantly increasingly funny!
When he asks to come in, "or can I?" is at the same time so wildly poignant and vulnerable while the brave smile at the end to hedge her inevitable response is a masterful choice. It is my favorite comedic line delivery and writing I've seen since the eighties. The fact that Chris hasn't been exploited for his amazing comedic acting is a testament to Hollywood's dysfunction and ineffectuality. More mid budget real-concept comedy and more Chris.
I dont know how I've never heard of you, this set was absolute fire, so dam funny. And then ending about your mom was a beautiful moment, thanks for making me feel good
It is definitely a lot of both. I believe he has a demented mind which produces the humor but then he has to practice like crazy in order to be so smooth in front of an audience. He is 100% original and I loved this routine. My only regret is that I can't find anymore of his act anywhere. I would buy a hard copy CD if I could find it at all I can find are MP3 downloads. I really hope he is working on another special. I loved how the audience seem to stay with him and appreciate his unusual take on things. Seems like if he had a bad show and did not connect with the audience he could be heckled mercilessly
As a white dude (without dreads) that used to front a reggae band.. I laughed so hard at that reggae bit, i've come back to it so many times when i've needed a smile, thanks so much man
I really enjoyed this...quirky, funny, completely original. Offbeat pacing, but perfectly on time. I bet Lynn Fairbanks felt so proud of this talented lad.
Met Chris on flight from PDX to LAX last night and he's such a down to earth, cool dude. After watching this 1HR special, I'm honored to know that I've met one of the funniest comics in America. From the fishing story to the reggae joke, this was non-stop pure comedy genius. Please make sure you watch the entire video. I promise you'll thank me.
Imagine how painful this show would have been if he was bombing, I feel like he would still commit to the material no matter what. Is "esoteric" the word I'm looking for? 😄
So funny I've watched it three times! Had to share it with my family! Hilarious! The audience's laughter is almost as funny! So sorry about his Mom...🌹😭😭😭
That ending though... I"m the same age as Chris and feel the same way; get choked up about it just the same as well. This was a great special! Ending it with Red Fang is pretty awesome, too! Stoner rock gang!
Chris Fairbanks is a special comedian. Everyone cherish this man.
Did not expect tears at the end of a comedy special, what a beautiful message, what an incredible talent.
Hands down the most original act I have seen in 10 years. Bravo to the comedian!
FOR EFFIN REAL DUDE!! this was amazing!!!!!

So naturally funny and fluent! Amazing work👏 Also, did anyone notice himself in the audience at 40:43 lmao what a guy 🤣
I was wondering about that! lol
One of the few comedians who has caused me to have uncontrollable, bust-out laughter in a while. Truly hilarious. Honestly original.
When TH-cam recommends greatness. :) Awesome special!
it was sure due.
One of the most unique sets I've seen all year. Super hilarious stuff Chris!
Been a fan of you for years, but just now saw your Rescue Cactus Special. So awesome. Love you Chris Fairbanks!!!
That opening is so relatable it hurts

The Reggae joke absolutely destroys my sister and I and we quote it back and forth to each other constantly!
It took a little selling, but I bought it about 90 seconds in. Power of commitment to the bit!
