  • Sometimes the fastest way of making stunning scenery isn’t always the cheapest or easiest, but with the right tools it’s amazing what you can make.
    The coconut palm trees I make in this video are made with the assistance of the Brother Scan N Cut die cutting machine, an absolute must when it comes to creating these fantastic looking palm leaves. The whole process is very easy and once you put a bunch of these palms together in your scene they will surely grab the attention of any onlookers.
    If you enjoy watching the videos and would like to help support my channel and help keep it going for many years to come please check out my patreon page. I have some small rewards for people who help keep this channel going :)

    What a great tutorial and I totally agree about the Scan n Cut. I’ve had mine for years and, as a miniaturist, I find it indispensable. I often just rubber stamp a design or find free images on the internet and print them and direct cut. Being able to resize, print multiples, etc is awesome. The Scan n Cut always does an incredible job and I think is an unsung hero. I have had a Cricut and think the Scan n Cut runs rings around it plus you aren’t limited to their designs.

      Just make sure to paint them green and bunch up and "comb" the strains while the paint dries.

    When you started bending the finished tree, I was like "Brilliant". Added mechanism that makes it more realistic.

    Wow, you go through all that to make one tree, but it is one realistic looking tree. Especially with the bendable trunk. Hats off to you for putting in the effort, it certainly pays off.

    Something I don't understand is why it's so hard to find scale human figures of comparable realism to the other models like cars, furnishings, etc. They always stick out like toys. Is that a style thing?

    • @zayneavila9019
      @zayneavila9019 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I was wondering the same question :)
      because he's making detail at is finest
      but when we see humans they look like toys

    • @AericLee23
      @AericLee23 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Human beings have a greater amount of detail than weathering on buildings or scars on trees. Even the shrubs and bushes in these sorts of models aren't very realistic, actually. It's harder to make tiny plastic figures of humans. But I hope that as technology gets better, there will be more realistic-looking human figures as well.

Your recording style, your narration and your explanations just make me feel like I could do anything that you can even though I'm well aware of the fact that you're an artist and I would fail miserably if I attempted any of the things you do. Wow, I'm just in love with all those videos, you are superb! If I may suggest something even though I'm not a modeller, this palm tree looked too 'perfect'... these trees are usually found in places prone to some wind, so you could also simulate that moving the upper leaves upwards and decreasing the leaves density in the middle, probably to 3 or 4 leaves. ooorr just make it 'taller' pulling some leaves at the top. Great job, though, I'm speechless. :)
