5 years later...
I said I’d re-do this forever ago in like 2012 and then made an edit to my original cover’s description in 2015 saying I’d DEFINITELY re-do it so I guess it’s been long enough now. Also, I thought it’d be easy to record again but wow I was wrong! So I’m still visiting my sisters and don’t have a real set up to record but I still wanted to do something. Like a normal person, I crouched in a closet on top of clothes at 1 AM and recorded this scream/sing song. I couldn’t even stretch my legs out because it was so narrow so that was fun lol. But even harder was trying to edit the lyrics I’d written when I was 17 because I honestly don’t even know what I was thinking back then?? So I tried to update parts to be more accurate to the translation without rewriting everything. Lots of rewriting and then keying it down -2 because I don’t wanna wake up the upstairs neighbors haha.
Oh and before I forget, the whole ending lyrics really were meant to convey that their “belief" in a god specifically was saving them. Just always believing in something more was important. So being human was to to love and believe despite everything - or something like that?
But wow, I’m tired now...

If the AI is made to find something literal than that’s what they’d said and it’s likely that this AI thought of that, however, if the person running the AI didn’t accept that answer, they could find things more similar to what is shown in this song and have a mental breakdown.

That's what makes vocaloid so unique is that every song tells unique story for instance of this song is about an AI trying to discover what it means to be human and it kind of shows you how much she screaming on the inside because she can't figure it out

Coming back to this masterpiece in June 2022. I found this song right when it was posted and it made me cry. I relate to the story so much. An outsider that doesn't understand the meaning of life and existence and goes crazy searching for it. I like to imagine the story of this song is of an AI whose single task is figuring out what it means to be human. The choruses are her pondering different things that may be the meaning of humanity and failing every time until the end. "Whats that word again, they call him God, oh yes"- she finally understands. We see her continuing to try new ideas and failing throughout the choruses, but continuing to try every time- and eventually, she finds the answer. So she sees that, while there are countless things she can't understand, what it means to be human is to not understand, but to believe. The final chorus still gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes, and every time I've been on the edge of giving up, I've reminded myself that "there's always something more left to believe."

This might seem weird, but I can relate to this song bc I have Derealization disorder ( sometimes I can't tell if I'm a alive, and life looks like a blur) so I constantly question my existence and humanity itself. I don't know how to take it all in, so I go to this song. It describes my inner thoughts of life. And it makes me wanna scream, why can't I just be normal? I don't know what's real and what life is supposed to look like any more. Should I scream or not say anything at all? People tell me "try and focus on something" it does not work. I get lost in my own mind. This song just shows my frustrations..

I only found juby on TH-cam in the last year but I got say the bit I love the most is how she does like little blog entries in the description section, I enjoy reading them.
in my opinion, being human doesn't really have an answer. whatever you say about it never really applies to every human. it's not about love or pain. being depressed, numb or sociopathic doesn't make you any less human. i guess to some extent it is just about belief, we all believe in what we see and feel and some others believe in more than what they see. i've personally never really been a person of faith, i don't like the concept of god in general and most religions don't depict god as someone i want to look up to. even if some sort of god does exist, it's not really my business what they do and i don't think it's their business what i do either. i exist to believe and act on what i believe.
