The fact that Kevin Parker can (objectively) barely even sing his own songs on key, but is selling out stadiums, is a testament to how amazing his music is. Also gives me hope for the authenticity of Tame Impala fans.
He's using a vocal track on most of the songs to recreate the double tracked sound you hear on the album. Even a fast slapback delay doesn't cut it, you actually need a separate vocal track. Tame Impala never mime or lip sync, they always perform live and give their best but since Kevin's a perfectionist, he wants to recreate the original sound by using backing tracks for vocals and instruments that cannot be played live, since you'd need 10+ musicians on stage to recreate every layer of sound Kevin recorded in studio.
this must be so hard to perform live since its such a heartbreaking song about his relationship with his dad..
Nah not for him

think he's finding it painful to sing man, more than his chops to sing.
Emotional transportation device contained in this beautiful song.
You can hear the pain, been there
He’s such a good performer
really wanna see this song live and a friend to cry with
The cringey thing is I can hear myself screaming in the background of most of these videos 🤦🏻♀️😅😅😅
Thank you for posting these up!
So it looks like Tame Impala have evolved to be the new Pink Floyd. amazing light show, just ridiculous.
@Jonas Garcia Thank you.
That circle of lights above looks exactly like the one that Pink Floyd used to have as background in their shows
Why do people keep comparing Floyd with tame ugh so annoying
@@adammarquez5203 Thank you.
I’m high asf just watching this and trippen in the visuals haha
GREAT song
In the end you can hear the playback voice for a few seconds right ?
At 6:05 he starts singing live and on 6:24 it’s playback again.
It’s jay singing you idiot
WishYouWereHere really ?
WishYouWereHere then he does a good job!
Nah I think he just switched HOW he was singing at that point, and Jay is singing back up I think
