  • Hi All,
here's a little something a bit unique from flextail.
This is the max repel mozzie repeller.
The unit has a rechargeable 9600mah battery on board to both power the unit in a stand alone fashion and can also be used as a back up power bank to charge your phone and the like.
I was quite shocked in testing this one and to be honest didn't have high hopes for it.
So imagine my surprise when it actually did what it said on the box.
I'm still shocked by this on and will do a follow up video after I've done a lot more testing .
For now though, it's a 2 thumbs up for the flextail max repel unit.
For a 15% discount via the flextail website, you can use the code Denmonkey15
and find the max repel using this link.

Brett!! Good to see ya mate, great review. These are the same as that Thermacell ones except they use proprietary butane canisters to heat the pads and last 12 hours. The kicker is without modification the butane canisters are non refillable so i have to buy more. This is much better as it can be recharged! Also if The pads are same as thermacell the pads turn white when they need replacing

Quick tip for the neighbours pool.
Inject a tennis ball with some type of oil and throw it over the fence into the pool. Eventually the oil will seap out and put a film over the water and no more mozzies.

I was going to buy some of those mozzie ring things that float or just throw a bottle of bleach over the fence into it. I reckon I could just about walk across it into the middle and just drop it in :)

Flextail's portable air pumps are fantastic. I use mine all the time.

Thanks Brett. I ordered one with some extra pads and the discount code worked fine. I have the gas filled type but I think this will be more portable and I like the idea of hanging it up inside the camper. My wife gets eaten alive by mozzies and midgees.

Hey Ian, thanks for letting me know. it's the first time I've tried to set it up. I'm looking forward to trying it when sleeping in the back of the pajero and leaving the windows down. please let me know how it goes for you, i'm keen to hear others experience. should keep you in the good books with the missus too. if you have a squizz on amazon, theres some pads on there which may be a bit cheaper. havent done the math or checked out for fit yet. but these are the ones im looking at amzn.to/3hbsLeX or these ones 10 bucks for 30 amzn.to/3W9EoBA . when i pick some up i'll report back .

Looks like a great product having a battery powered mossie repeller. I've been using a gas powered one for ages and they work really well!
Your links aren't live mate 👍

Yeah when I did a bit of research I spotted the gas ones. I'd never seen them before either . I guess it's the same principle and same repellent just a different heat source I think. They tell me the details should work now. Otherwise I'll check them when I'm home

Living here on the island of Phuket in SW Thailand, I just got over a Head-On Collision with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever a couple weeks ago.
Health Travel Advice: Don’t get Dengue…!!!
I have just ordered one of these Max Repel units on Lazada here in T’land….. along with a couple hundred pads/mats.

Could be a very useful item especially being portable like it is. Ideal for Hikers and Wild Camping that don't have large battery systems like we do and carrying things like Mozzie Coils only works when you are stopped at camp, can easily get wet etc etc. I might have to look into one as I am planning a wild camp early next year. The company can send me one to try out if they like lmfao.

    • @DENMONKEY
      @DENMONKEY  ปีที่แล้ว

i'll be sure and bring it along and we can cuddle around it to test it further :)

@@DENMONKEY Ok now I'm worried lmfao. Would be a good item to test out for a Hiking camp though.

Cool, in the follow up vid could you let us know a rough lifespan of the repellant pads, battery life and how long to recharge it? Thanks for the vid, was interesting

supposedly about 13 hours on low and 7 on high . from others reviews, it seems to be pretty close to those times but seems to taper off towards the end
