Amazing, Pastor Guzik, you are relating every single chapter and verse of the Bible to Jesus and His work on the cross as far as I see and understand. What an incredible undertaking for Jesus. May all this work be eternally Blessed by God!

I’ve read many times that Ham seeing his father’s nakedness meant that he had sexual relations with his mother. Leviticus 20:11 says that seeing your father’s nakedness is seeing your mother’s. Makes sense to me why he would curse Canaan after that!

Canaan wasn't born when Ham saw his father's nakedness. What happened was Ham slept with his mother, Noah's wife, as per Leviticus 20:11 "And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness" (uncovering one's nakedness had many meanings). This is why Canaan is listed in Genesis 9:18 along with Noah's three sons "And the sons of Noah...were Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan"; Ham had four sons so it made no sense to list only Canaan in this verse unless Canaan was Noah's stepson in addition to his grandson. Canaan is the result of incest and that is why Noah cursed Canaan. Amazingly, if you read Genesis 11:27 you'll see the verbiage is similar when listing Terah's sons, "Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot," i.e., Haran may have slept with his father's wife and had Lot, Abraham's nephew, which would further explain the generational issues Lot had with incest when his daughters slept with him in Genesis 19:36.

When those in the upper room were filled with the Holy Spirit they said they were drunk with wine but they weren't. I DONT think people are being disrespectful to God's Holy Spirit to say they were drunk in the spirit, because they were acting like someone that was drunk .I do disagree with the statement you made but love the teaching

In your introduction, did you mean to say the ark came to rest at Mt. Sinai, or did you mean to say Mt. Ararat?

What are your thoughts regarding the guilt of those killed unjustly by the government? Does that defile the land as well?

    • @DavidGuzikEnduringWord

Pastor Lance replies - All murder is blood-guilt, regardless of who commits it. But not all killing is murder. Rightly executed capital punishment is not murder. Deaths due to just war, are not murder.

Interesting! I've got on here to learn about how the rainbow actually is from Genesis from the bible. How do you think the Devil got a hold of the rainbow to represent the Gays?. Is this mockery do you think?. The rainbows is truly a covenant from God. and the people are using it here on earth to represent Sin and devilish ways.

      Thanks for writing in.
If we consider the names of Satan, then we see how he operates.
Liar, Father if Lies, deceiver, imposter, presenting himself as an angel of light, destroyer, murderer, etc.
He takes what God has made to be good, and always tries to distort it and pervert it.
I think that God has given you insight regarding the misuse of the rainbow.
      Blessings as you follow Jesus.

Hi David, I've always wondered if possibly Noah had been the first person to ever drink fermented drink? if that were the case then he would not have known he would get intoxicated. Then his son showed disrespect and even did something sinful to his father. I guess I'm trying to get Noah off the hook if he did not know what was happening. I heard a Catholic priest say that Noah's son may have had sexual relations with his mother to try to "dethrone" Noah. I had never heard that take on it before. In any case, Noah made it to the Hall of Faith in Hebrews. Thank you so much, David, for explaining everything so well for us. You are very appreciated. And I love your Enduring Word Commentary. My Sunday School teacher refers to it often.

There is no indication that Noah was the first to drink wine. I would think that once he bang to feel intoxicated, that he would have connected the dots and understand that the wine would be the cause of his intoxication.
There is no Biblical reference about Noah's sons trying to "dethrone" his father by having intimacy with their mother, though the Bible clearly says that they disrespected their father and uncovered his nakedness.
      Hope this help! Blessings!

Genesis 9:2, not every animal fear us, a lot of animals will attack you to death for no reason. Can someone explain this?

    • @33Godspeed

I would say that animals are like human in that way of fear , some may attack you and kill you while some (most) will flee , both can be from fear

Abel is a keeper of sheep don’t they eat the meat of sheep?

At that time, God had only given them permission to eat plants. I asked the other day why would Abel keep sheep and the answer was for the wool. That makes sense.

I'm sorry but no. You can't take something from the old testament and apply it to your life. All our lives. Yes the Bible says capital punishment was required back then but remember it also said that you had to kill your daughter if she had been promiscuous. The message of Christianity is not to kill bad people, since Jesus has died for them. The message is to love.
Also, don't you remember that Paul had Christians killed before he was saved. Did it defile the land when he was NOT sentenced to death by Christians? Of course not.

Unfortunately, you are incorrect. Even Jesus cites the Old Testament several hundred times. The Old Testament is just as vital to living an obedient Christian life and just as relevant to today at the New Testament. Together, they form a cohesive story about one person , Jesus Christ. Together, they teach is about family failures and personal failures and how Gods purposes prevail despite man's disobedience. Together, they are life lessons. And most importantly, from Genesis to Revelation, the Old and New Testaments weave a story about Jesus Christ and His ultimate role in the Restoration of all things.

The anti diluvian earth had no rain and the atmosphere was different than it is today. The answer to why we can eat meat afterwards is that there does NOT have to be a humanly intelligible answer for any of God's commands. You are kind of goofy bro. Why not read a little more before you play teacher.
