damn i had the same thought. just imagine that alien species communicating through shapes and geometry using sound but light to them would be as boring as taste and smell to us.
The0Stroy it is strange to think whatever an alien species can't see would be found as uninteresting to them. humanity is interested in what they can't see like atoms and the invisible forces that bind them or the deep sea without any light but is filled with amazing things. if an alien species used sound like this they would see the things around them and not find that very interesting as that's how they see but when they look up at the dark seemingly endless ocean like void above them and they will wonder "is there anything in there?"
I love how most of the intensity comes from the moving images. When I need to calm down a bit, I can look away for a few seconds. This also makes music production for myself feel easier as I don't feel the need to add as many layers anymore, but instead know that using as little layers as possible can still yield intense music. Basically, I have evidence that "Less is More" also applies to reality intense music.
Oscilloscope music really forces you to edit down. No EQ or mastering allowed! Kinda limiting sometimes, but also can be liberating to just focus on rhythm or melody..
we have 3 dimensional eyes, so i feel like the world around us shifting and seemingly inflate and shrink as we moved through 4-dimensional hyperspace would be sickening, and our puke from how disorienting the world is would immediately disappear as we continued to drift also if you dropped anything it would be incredibly difficult to find it again unless whoever was moving us through hyperspace was able to snap it back to our slice of reality

The trick to scope music is that you can create an image first and then draw it at whatever scan rates are required to get the audible pitches you want. You can draw a simple square, or circle, at any rate and get any audible frequency you want. So you create the artwork first, and modulate the H and V scan rates to match up to your musical intent.
I'll put a smile on your face, notice how the image is easily identifiable but your mind. The brain only recognizes shapes a d sounds it can compare against. This is fasting to witness as well as know we can decode everything we seen here in a blink of an eye. We're all geniuses just some learn different formulas while other's understand what they learn. Have a good day.
the way that I like to image telepathy is in a sense of oscilloscopes... communicating in sounds that are a specific frequency that only you can hear, images and words appearing as your brain tries to process it. This may be possible in the future because there is a man that can hear colors and the brain processes the sound into images. I'm of course talking about Neil Harbisson. he has an antenna grafted onto his brain.
You should check out JeroBeam Fenderson! He basically started stuff like this. I suggest listening/watching to his tracks “Asteroids” and “Spirals” Hope this helped!
@@ChrisAllenMusic. You manage to pull of the worse visual/better sound really well. The unstable look to the visuals fits really well with the techno/synth music.

Great work! I am having trouble displaying the above wav file on my oscilloscope. I have the audio output of my laptop connected to two channels of the CRO and am displaying the signal in XY mode. The image I get is nothing like the video. Could it be that the sampling rate is too limited on my laptop? How best to play and display the wav file? Thanks.
Hi Dave. Sorry for the trouble. Might be the sample rate, but many of the images here are quite simple (for instance, the squares at 1:30...) so they shouldn't be too affected if your sound card is only 48K or something. Might be just the settings on your scope to get it into to XY mode. I don't know what model scope you're using, so here are some suggestions: Some scopes have two channels of input, but they're both only for vertical deflection. If that's the case you would need to put one input (the left stereo channel) into the external input for horizontal deflection, and also will probably need to turn off the time sweep since time is irrelevant to XY mode here. If all that doesn't help, you can post your question (and scope model over at www.reddit.com/r/oscilloscopemusic/ and someone can prob help more than I can here. Good luck!
Ah. I think the issue may be that your scope has a digital screen, not an analog/CRT screen. An analog scope draws lines with different weights depending on how far away the samples are from each other (the beam hits the phosphor, and brightness is based on the amount of time it spends on each point), allowing for disconnected objects because the in-between lines are very faint. Digital scopes will trace solid weight lines between every single point in the audio sample, this can result in extraneous lines that make complex shapes look very messy. Digital scopes will still draw lissajous figures nicely, because the sample signals are continuous. But for the complex shapes in this song, many are made up of dozens of disconnected individual line segments which would look messy on a digital display. I found a manual that seems to pertain to your scope manufacturer and the 1000 series.. www.batronix.com/pdf/Rigol/UserGuide/DS1000Z_UserGuide_EN.pdf There are a few pages in chapter 3 specific to setting up XY mode. If you set it up and can see some of the simple shapes, but the complex shapes look messy, it's probably the digital display issue I mention above.
