From your research the rainfall pattern was like 3rd March and 6th march what about rainfall in April and May how many time was it ? The cash crop does not need much rain . Due the change in rainfall pattern in Northern Ghana this could be a new cash crop for commercial production.
We experienced a poor germination because of erratic rainy, about April it start pouring from 11th April non stop up to 1st May then stopped until the splash rain of 10th May, 15th May, 23rd May, 30th May and 31st May.
Most varieties take about 4 months to reach maturity for harvest. After harvesting, an additional 3 to 4 weeks is needed for drying and processing. In total, the entire process takes approximately 5 months.
@@godfreydamnyag1366 I love your energy and optimistic, I recommend to watch my other videos about sesame production. It's my hope you will gain a wonderful knowledge about the crop and many benefits of the crop!
During harvesting you mention of sieve mesh can i know the pore size so the these things could be produced in large quatities for people producing sesame?
I recommend to watch my other videos about Sesame processing you will see the type of mesh used, you can approximate the pore size number! Don't worry much about refining Sesame seeds, there's many companies buy to refine to international standards.
@emmanuelsimkonda3304 Sesame still benefits from granular fertilizer, but good results can also be achieved using only manure, supplemented with liquid (booster) fertilizer. During the first 30 days, sesame growth is slow as the plant focuses on root development, resulting in minimal nutrient uptake. This is why booster fertilizer is typically applied after 30 days. At this juvenile stage, sesame grows rapidly and requires a significant amount of nutrients. Using a booster fertilizer at this point is ideal, as it provides a quick nutrient uptake through the leaves, supporting flowering and overall plant health effectively.
4 months, remember that after harvesting there's processing process for post harvest, after harvesting/slashing it need to be tied and staked for drying for 2 to 3 weeks to get the sesame seeds!
White variety mature earlier than brown, which means 90 days for white and 120 days for brown, however these days can be affected by weather for instance hot weather accelerate the maturities!
