My review and impressions on Half Acre's Benthic 2023 release (standard offering) 'Bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with toasted coconut and coffee' 13.6% ABV Half Acre Brewing Chicago, IL
Decided to try this after watching your video. Nose is great! Good initial hit to the taste buds but the finish is lacking a bit for me. I get a lot of dark fruit on the finish which isn't my favorite but overall pretty solid beer!
I agree. I think it is a good stout, but I think we have a little bit of a bias because we are spoiled with Triptych being some of the best BA beers I've had. I was reminded this past weekend with Forces Way Beyond Our Control (2021 and 2023) on tap. I think for a yearly barrel-aged beer release that you can find on the shelf at Binny's though, this is definitely a solid purchase!
