- For the most effective French drain or Downspout drains we use FDM's High Quality materials.
We build long lasting yard drain systems including French drains, Sump pumps, downspout drains and more.
We now Carry FDM's High Octane corrugated pipe right here in Orlando Florida.
This pipe is strong and durable while still allowing some flex to route drainage as needed without losing its reliability.
We buy our materials from @FRENCHDRAINMAN

*Plot Twist* He's pumping all the water into the neighbors yard that why theirs is all flooded.
🤦♂️
😂
How to get their business. When they call him to do business, he installs one then pumps it to the next neighbor's yard and the cycle repeats 😂

🤦
He's so proud of his work. Good job sir.❤
Thank you
This is a common thing in Florida especially when they build homes in what used to be swamps.
We have this issue along Lake Erie also because it used to be lake bed about 10,000 years ago. You dig down a few inches and it's all clay.
Wonderful video . An individual who has pride what they do. And do it extremely well.❤
He’ll still get his neighbors’ mosquitoes tho.
They make rings for that...
@@farmeunit what are mosquito rings? Or any other solution in general. I ask because I'm in a similar setup, I had french drains installed, but none of my neighbours have them, so I'm flooded with mosquitos that spread in their yards.
@@theodorvepper Look for Mosquito Dunks. Just read instructions, they don't need a lot to work. Put them in buckets around your property. Honestly, with that much standing water from neighbors, it might be an uphill battle. They would need to treat their standing water, as well. If you can get some bats to roost in yard, they eat up a ton. Or develop a dragonfly colony and they will pretty much wipe them out. All more work but ultimately will help more.
@@farmeunit thanks a lot
Squishy for a couple of minutes never thought I would agree to this lol
Best thing I ever did my slanted slab patio
Best advertisement ever! 😳 that French drain system is 🔥.
Thank you people don't really understand what's going on in this video this client used to get a pool of water sitting in the rear for days at a time now we are containing the water and pumping it to the street unfortunately she gets all of her neighbors run off water going towards her yard thanks for watching
You are discharging the pump the neighbors! Its obvious! 😂😂
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?feature=share
Hit the link so you can see where it's discharging
That system will eventually help the neighbors as well
@@samsfrenchdrainsNo horse in this race but great work. Would love to see the video but the link isn't "clickable." Perhaps the lead sentence isn't far enough away from your name? If that makes sense? 😂
If it’s a French drain with perf pipe it will help the neighbors as well
It’s the best system. Basically creating an aquifer💧
Thank you
Good work cost good money, for *good* reason.
Keep it up, Sir!
Thanks, will do!
Great job!
Thank you I appreciate that I wish most people would understand this short thanks for watching
Great work!
Thank you and thanks for watching
Looks like the drain pipe the French Drain Man uses in his videos. Regardless, great job.
Yes it is French drain man his products are amazing thank you so much for watching
I am just about to get my cleaned!
Yes sir get that thing cleaned out make sure that the people who do it know what they're doing I tried to build my systems so that you won't have to worry about too much cleaning thanks for watching
Heck yeah 👍🏼 it shows be very proud of that awesome work
Thank you and thanks for watching
Good work for you, dude !
Thanks!
I like brown grass, you like brown grass, we like brown grass yes yes yes.
Are these available in the US, or do I need to order one from France?
🤣
oui!
Where does the sump pump to? do you have a pipe taking it to the street? Nice work
If it has a slotted/perforated pipe thru the gravel makes it a trench drain. French drain is only rock and drains much slower.
Thanks for the tip 😂
Fairly sure you can use a combo
And in a French drain, once the gravel filter blinds, it's fooked. A pipe, and the inside slicker the better, has a lower scouring velocity to keep it cleaned out.
I don’t know where _you_ are, but every advice I have ever seen on-line or elsewhere, uses a perforated pipe in/under gravel/crushed rock to make a French drain.
FWIW I am in the US, and obviously on-line information is global, but I live in NC.
@@pulaski1 me too in NC. I call out ADS/NDS brands HDPE double wall pipe lain at least manuf. min slope requirements. Both brands come in 10 & 20LF sticks not rolls.
Well done my friend
Thank you kindly
By french drain you mean sump pit and pump?
No sir this is an old project of mine there is a French drain across the whole backyard there is 4 oz non-woven geotextile fabric two perforated pipes at the bottom and one solid pipe at the top for the 4 in inlets to take in bulk water it all directs to the sump pump system that we installed to shoot all the water out to the front yard by the city storm drain
The backyard is lower than the front yard so we needed a pump to move everything to the front yard by the city storm drain
That’s why I live in country no neighbors to worry about m. Freedom
Yes sir that's what we're working towards want to own a couple acres away from everybody thanks for watching
My opinion, the grade should be fixed to prevent the squishiness as that's an indicator of too much rain water for the yard to take. Help the french drain by "slightly" grading to it. That squishiness renders an unusable portion of yard and that's not going anywhere for at least two days of full sunshine. I've dealt with it and know it well.
Thanks for the tip everything's graded right to the French drain right at the center it does dry out in a few minutes when I got here to record it the water was rushing from all the neighbors towards her yard before we installed this system her yard used to be a pool right next to the pool thanks for watching
Nice
Thanks
Overtime the soil in the grass will work it's way through to the aggregate and block the drain up.
Time will tell if the FD clogs or not. Not all done the same. Still very good.
Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching I love to keep checking up on my systems so we'll be posting future updates on all the systems
We have a "French drain" but we think it was put in by the previous owners of the house, and they had no idea what they were doing, because the drain doesn't actually go anywhere.
I see that problem everyday not only from homeowners but from contractors too sorry to hear that I will be posting more videos on showing how to find the buried pipe so that you can add to it thanks for watching the channel
@@samsfrenchdrainsvery nice 👍 I have learned from your channel & appreciate your efforts. Terrific job and thank you for sharing your expertise ❤
It's it always necessary for it to have somewhere to go if it's not a lot of water? I have a covered patio and the rain runs off the roof and puddles right there. I live in Louisiana so the ground can take a lot of water just takes a few hours to absorb and in the meantime I have standing water. I was thinking of putting in the French drain in hopes that it will get rid of the standing water faster and just make my yard nicer. Because grass can't grow there anyway. I thought it would be fine for the water to sit in the drain and leach back into the ground underneath and beside...

French kiss, french fries, french drain.
Ask us if you want the things to be done the right way.
😂
If the city stormwater drain is full to the top, where are you draining the water to? Is this yard a foot or two above the city stormwater drain or the street level?
Dudes yard was flooded too.
None of you will ever understand this yard used to be like a pool until we built the system unfortunately for this client all the water from all her neighbors goes towards her home thanks for watching though 🤦
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?si=G1wYOcuks86Pv_nF
Your client is paying to pump everyone's water, also, too many things in the grass. Grate, pop ups, sump etc...
Our clients pay for peace of mind that they don't have to worry about water in their home
@@samsfrenchdrains My lot is the lowest of the surrounding 5 lots and we get flooded every spring. Not the house, just the back fence line. I have also considered that I'm going to be paying to pump everybody's water out to the street. Peace of mind is right. That pump would only run 24-30 hours a year. A pittance to avoid the destruction that water can do.
I just wish my neighbors picked up after their dogs, all their poop water and floaters comes to my yard.
Nice! Where do you pump it too?
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?si=H6LQSPyK8jdHtPhL
It all goes to the front yard thanks for watching
He bought all his supplies from French Drain Man - so can you -
What is the sump basin that you are using? I have not seen one with the green top and the black on the bottom. Thanks!
Love your videos and how you follow up with the systems.
Thank you I appreciate the comment there's some Basin that we use from time to time is from polylok but the one that I love the most is from Friends dream man the Basin that you see on here is has a 24 inch lid which is too big but it does the job thanks for watching
Ya they to close together 😂. Good work tho
its still wet af. but thats got to do with run off from next door my guess. sad
Yes the water that you hear me walking over is water that's rushing from the neighbors into my client's yard but it's going down Underground through the pipes into a sump pump and shooting it out to the street before the system was built he used to get water all the way towards her home now we collect it at a certain point and shoot it to the street thanks for watching
What’s the cost of something like this?
It's hard to tell an exact price from one's project to another there's a lot of variables that go into building a custom French drain to meet your yards drainage needs sometimes you have to go through a bunch of roots or you need a pump also known as a lift station at times people think they need a French drain and all they really needed it was a surface drain or to just route the downspouts Underground it all depends it's very hard to just put an exact number on things thanks for watching
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?si=VUCbzs2TvSLmmHfq
I sent you a link so you can see where all the water from this French drain goes
I don’t think most people think about drainage like this.
What's the level.??? What's the level going from house to street.... Neighbors yard level. Neighbors house level to street. All depends . 💁♂️. when it fills up where are you pumping the water? 200 ft away? 😅

Damn. Pull up. Omg do you work in Pensacola. My house is in the swamp lol
Sorry unfortunately we do not cover your area thanks for watching hopefully you can find somebody in your area
who build a home with no slope in the yard? That ain't right!
Our home was built with the slopes all towards our house. Smh
Have you ever been to FL? It is flat as can be
K@@matthewp1682 looking flat to the average eye is not the same as 2 inches of pitch every 10 ft, which is all it takes.
They keep building all of these new homes with poor drainage, no roof gutters, and no streets draining
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?si=UuN1xZiPrWL4q45r
Unfortunately for this home all the neighbors water runs through my client's yard before we built the system she used to have a pool in the backyard now we're able to catch that water in a French drain and dump it at the street right next to a city storm drain thanks for watching
@@samsfrenchdrains thank you
Are you using a pump or is it all gravity?
Definitely needed a sump pump on this one thanks for watching
Baughman Tile tubing. Not that crap black ADS.🎉
Yes sir we're trying to always give our clients the best service and the best high quality materials let's get them done right the first time
Why is there a pump in the dry well?
It's to move the water from the backyard to the front by the city storm drain this yard used to be like a pool before you put in the system thanks for watching I will show you a link so you can see where the water is going
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?si=AsvGTtdJhINgqOrj
Umm the ground clearly slopes to the fence and the drain is at least 20'-30' away, up hill.
Well where does the water that pools into the drain end up?

I just shot you a link of where the water is going to the front yard thanks for watching
Only squishy for a couple more minutes my G OKAY 😂

I'm hearing lots of swish, swish ..lots of water under your feet
Yeah that's the water pouring in from all her neighbors yards the great thing that I'm showing on this video is that the water is being directed to the pump and from there is shooting it out to the street she finally has peace of mind that water will not intrude her home thanks for watching
@@samsfrenchdrains Ahh...that Sir, is a source of a bigger problem. Great drain system. Best of luck👍
I know and the HOA won't do anything about it they have a crappy surface drain through the whole Community that's not doing nothing it gets overwhelmed but at least my client doesn't have to be worrying about water anymore intruding her home thanks for watching the video though
French drains don't do surface water. what you do is combo/dual french drain and surface drain using perforated tubing and regular tubing in the same trench. the regular drain has catch boxes.
By using the perforated tubing to catch surface water he has effectively disabled the french portion..
French drains do surface water if you include gravel trenches. Notice the gravel areas he stepped over?
You really got to look closely those green things on the ground are to take in bulk surface water there are two perforated pipes at the bottom it is a dual system client gets a lot of surface water from the neighbors and the whole community water just sits in the backyard ground is play so it doesn't allow the water to percolate then we take everything to the sump pump system and from there shoot it to the front yard with no issues

Thanks for watching
That's a surface drain... You actually have to pass a 16 hour knowledge test to do this stuff in my state, and Yes, I'm licensed.
That is a hybrid French drain there are two perforated pipes at the bottom one solid pipe up top to collect the bulk water through the little basins and the downspouts run through the same solid pipe all the way to a pump from there out to the street maybe you need to take your test again 😂
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?si=AsvGTtdJhINgqOrj
Thanks for watching though
What's the price range for a project like this?
Everything varies and is custom
Have to find the common drain and it probably needs to be jetted. A lot of crap gets washed down there, grass cutting, soil then add nice household fertilizer and the drains are done. Neighbors at my friends house opened the common drains that runs between 11 houses and pulled out a 43’ weed mass with a truck! Now they all get together and have it checked once a year. No more flooding.
Common drain was cleaned Hydro jetted I'll leave a link so you can check it out unfortunately she gets all the water from her neighbors but it is doing well pumping the water out thanks for watching
Unfortunately for my client The Neighbors don't really care so I cleaned from her home to where it meets the city storm drain

swamps weren't meant to be built in.
🤣
Tough when one household spends their money to drain neighborhood & all neighbors issue

Sounds soggy
I get that you hear a little bit of squishiness but from looking at this video you have to see all that water that's from her neighbors against the fence is flowing through her yard and instead of it sitting in her yard it's going down into the French drain and we're shooting it all the way out to the street when this client first called me 3 years ago water would sit in that back area as if there was a pool and then the water would run and back up towards the house I'm not trying to do too much editing and want to show you guys raw footage of the systems in action
That yards was soaked
This yard used to look like a pool before we installed this French drain unfortunately for this client all the neighbors run off water goes towards her home thanks for watching though
how much does that cost, a french drain
It's hard to tell an exact price there's a lot of variables everybody's French drain is custom it all depends sometimes people don't need a French drain just a surface drain at times you just need to route your downspouts away from the property it all depends thanks for watching
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?si=VUCbzs2TvSLmmHfq

Swamp land maybe
Yeah but in a couple of hrs. The neighbors yard will be back to normal and " your clients" yard will still have holes & plastic covers in it & look like shite. Not to mention they will be out the $10,000 you charged them to dig holes in their yard.
🤦♂️ omg thanks for watching anyway
Fifty k a house for no squishy. ? I like squishy .
50K where did you get those numbers
WHAT IS HAPPENING . IS THE GROUND IS TOO COMPACTED . WHICH MEAN THE GROUND CANNOT ACCEPT ANY WATER. AT ALL. IF YOU HAD PROPER DRAINAGE IN THE GROUND . THE WATER WOULD BE ABLE TO FLOW INTO THE UNDER WATER RESEVRES.
The problem here is that the clay does not allow the water to percolate therefore it just becomes a sponge in my clients backyard then it doesn't help that all the water from her neighbors comes towards her backyard so we route all the water on the ground to give it some place to go and from there the sump pump shoots it all to the front yard I will send you a link to show you thanks for watching
th-cam.com/users/shortspBvDE6llOTU?si=aFVSSJwi6X_mvw68
But by filling it with dirt it will fail eventually should be filled with a drainage rock
SMH 🤦♂️
This is fabric with perforated pipe Stone and then we wrap everything together and it works flawlessly don't know where you got dirt from
The Norwegian drain is much better, you just build in the hillside
the sound made my right ear go wonky...its not you its me and me headphones
Oh I enjoy it actually
Using flex corrugated tells me all I need to know about your company
And with this comment tells me a lot about you sir thanks for watching have a good day 😂
And that is how you screw up the environment without meaning to because the water isn’t going to seep into the ground and recharge the aquifer, instead it’s just gonna go straight into the storm drain and be lost.
If you're looking at this video correctly the water is seeping down and going straight to the lift station where the sump pump takes it to the front yard thanks for watching though

Anybody that is interested doing vertical drains is a whole lot cheaper. It is some French drain mesh some draining gravel and one post hole digger and you can eliminate puddled water for seven dollars.
You really think a little vertical drain is going to take in the amount of water that goes through my client's yard I bet you just learned that on TH-cam thanks for watching though
you live in Florida. you live in a swamp. what do you expect ?
Thanks for the advice
Florida is also a bit of a pain in this respect due to how flat the state is. I had to climb a higher hill to go to elementary school every day as a kid than the largest possible elevation gain in all of Florida.
The fact that it's draining that well is rather impressive.
Thank you 😊
@@samsfrenchdrains It's a point that's still hard for me to really comprehend that the highest point in the entire state is only a few hundred feet. Meaning that getting the minimum drop necessary for water to flow is going to be a challenge pretty much anywhere in the state.
I remember installing something along these lines in high school at one of the local p-patches, and it was on a hill and watching the water just below the surface continually filling the trench was interesting. I have no idea how that would have worked out without a significant elevation change.
grass is supposed to have water. waste of money
Thanks for the advice man I did not know that 🤣
@@samsfrenchdrainsisn't the comments crazy😂
I'll let you in on a little secret that's not a french drain. It's called a drain with a pump.
Thanks for the tip I'll let you in on another little secret if you look at my other videos there is a 100 ft French drain underneath all that sod thanks for watching though
That's so funny Florida with a water table so high you can take a tea spoon and find it what are you going to do with storm run off when your surrounded by ocean .. MOVE OUT OF FLORIDA SOON...
I get how you think It's not a big deal but you are taking your camera and sticking it into other people's property, I mean not only that you're actually leaning the camera over the fence into their property. I'm pretty sure the neighbors don't care that your French drain makes you happy. If you want them to have one, you should go knock on their doors, not videotape their property and stick your arms over their fence for no reason. Do you think the entire world is so stupid they don't know what a French drain is do you really think your company invented them and that no one else could install them without you lol
🤦
