I have had a 2013 E350/W212 and I never heard of this issue until today when I was at my independent mechanic, and he informed me the rear subframes were about 95% rusted through. We did some research and discovered this very ‘letter’ to MBZ owners. I never received one, thus I never knew this issue existed until today. So starts the arduous task of getting my local MB dealership/Service department on board to replace these. I’ve contacted them and in the shop it goes Monday to just document & pictures so they can send to MB of USA to get approval. They’d better come back with a ‘Yes, we’ll take care of it’ answer.
Interesting, afaik here in germany it depends on their goodwill, not a real warranty. back in the days MB had a 30 year warranty against corrosion (they called it mobilo Life). i remember reports of someone with a late 98 or 99 CLK (same as your red one, but coupé) who sued them successfully 20y later to repair all the corrosion damage. and this car had rust all over.
I was really surprised to learn of this warranty. That's interesting about the CLK. Fortunately mine looks like brand new underneath as it was never driven in bad weather and garage kept.
Interesting. Have both a ‘14 W212 and a ‘11 A207. Better check the mail lol. Funny enough the A207 I have at my condo in Puerto Rico where everything violently rusts, thanks for the heads up!
I took a car to the dealer today for allignment and they later called me telling me that they ordered sub frame for my car and they will replace it for free under extended warranty (Mine is 2011 W212 E350 4matic) Edit: They offered to give me a donor car while doing the repair/replacement cause it might gonna take few days to do so
Call you local dealer and service department, they will give u the information (they getting mine done for free under extended warranty only on that part)
@@saadkamran7 I have been few months ago on healthy check by £150 to hear that they not doing that models W203 as they are to old. My MB has 17 years old 🙂 now 18 years. Even if servis book state the warranty till 30 years. They might do W204 W209 W210 and some other models. Good luck to every one

This just happened to mine. Rusted out and completely broke off. 2010 C300 sport sedan 97K. Taking it to the dealer.
