The most important question is are you going to produce a drawing for us to replicate it? It looks great so far, I really want to make myself one! I have a piece of hardox 450 which should be suitable.

Hi Matthew. The dimensions are at 0.47. I had a look but don't think I can easily attach a CAD file to the TH-cam comments or intro section. Here is a link to the DXF file on CNC Zone. Great video as always Cliff, they might be something your unaware of considering where your location is. And many today have also never heard of them even in North America where they were being made. I managed to pick up an almost pristine example of a Brown & Sharp 558 cylindrical square a number of years ago. An extremely simple but mathematically very clever method of actually measuring out of squareness. It's base on one end is purposely ground at a very slight angle and it has a series of I think ball milled dot's on the cylinders body that allow the actual the measurements to be taken. And as you mentioned there are two spots on that cylinder even with it's angled base that are marked in a straight line of dots showing that true 90 degrees to the surface plate.
These are the best but still poor pictures I could find with a quick check. megawavz.com/shop/brown-sharpe-558-cylindrical-square/ No doubt they would be extremely rare in your part of the world, but still worth knowing about just in case you ever do run across one. Unfortunately most who have one for sale already know there value though. Afaik B&S quit making them sometime in the early 1990's. And unlike a standard cylindrical square that can only tell you something is out, these can tell you by how much which is what anyone really wants to know. I personally think there a very good addition to something like your squareness comparator.
