I think the reason he passed Kadeem was because before the drone racers weren't much of a problem before in The World Race and he didn't know that they had an hour time limit unlike in The World Race therefore he was racing as if he was on Highway 35 which is flat out and for the win instead of survival.

Well Tezla screwed a lot of Drivers by not telling them a lot. As he said (The realms only open "Once" And they get one shot.) Which was clearly shown as a lie when they get to the Swamp realm and we see Banjee's car "SOMEHOW" Floating in the water and covered in mold as if it had been there for some time. Then not telling them the 1 hour timeline. Not installing the escape devices even though he could have. Honestly if anyone is to play the blame game for Kadeem it would be all on Tezla for not just being upfront. Buuut instead he wanted to "Promote their rivalry" which in all honestly was stupid and only made shit worse. If he had just been 100 up front and explained everything from the start and given them what they needed from the beginning. They would have performed a lot better and probably wouldn't have lost Kadeem. And if he was SMART and had just gotten all the drivers at once instead of picking them off and having trial and error things would have went probably as they did with the World Race. Which he also foreshadowed the world race was just a "Test". Kinda like the Tutorial or beginner stages for newbies. As we see many of the "Realms" They visit seem to be the same or similar "Worlds" to ones in the world race just at different locations. Like the Swamp Realm could be in the Jungle ream but on two separate ends of the realms. Where one is "Easy" and the other is in more of the "Heart" of the realm.

I really care about them and it would be a mess for me in the game if I actually saw one of them or a few of them die, resources wasted, emotional trauma. Vert344 About the realms opening “once” even though Banjee’s car was left there: I think that it only opens once if it is completed. Banjee failed to complete the track within the 1 hour timeframe, meaning that the Accelecharger was never taken, so someone else needs to finish the course. Think of it like this: somebody tries to finish the track and fails. Then years later, someone tries to get all of the Accelechargers but can’t because some idiot closed off the swamp realm. I guess the Accelerons did that in order to prevent that problem.
Not even gonna lie... I feel like Taro was the "BEST" Driver out of all the Drivers in World Race and Acceleracers. But it seems he just has super bad luck. Everytime he says "I'ma pass you" or he's actually about to get a WIN something always goes tits up in his face and he has to make a hard choice or ends up second. But if you notice everytime it comes down to the end of the race especially in the world Race he was always in the top spot or racing for the top spot when something happens. Honestly he kinda makes me feel like that guy who will always finish second even though he has the skills to be first.
I definitely agree. I always that the two best drivers in the series were Taro and Karma. Taro for the reasons you listed, and Karma for her mindset on focus and whatnot. But the two just can't seem to catch a break. Taro's just always getting fucked over by something (whether it be Kadeem, The Silencerz, or himself) and the reason why Karma couldn't go into The Swamp Realm was ridiculous. It's really fitting that the two seem to start liking each other by the end of the series :]
Vert344 literally Taro gets screwed over SOOOO much. In Acceleracers, he got hit with a lightning bolt in the storm realm. He also is literally cheated out of 4 ACCELECHARGERS!!! Metro Realm, Ice Realm, Pipeline Realm, and in the Junk Realm, he finally figured the silancers out only to have Kurt win it? And he almost won the Water realm too.
How about the fact that Vert loses every race, only to win the last one in each series? Or the fact there was nothing visibly wrong with Slingshot or the Road Runner, yet Kurt and Taro both replaced their cars?
Thomas Jackson it probably is possible to revive the Roadrunner but I guess it would be a waste of time for Taro. Rivited got a few parts from the Roadrunner too so I guess it didn't go to waste.
But with all the tech that Tesla had, I'm sure the could have fixed it. I'm not saying it would be easy or worth it, but it doesn't mean it was totally garbage.

Despite his unfortunate disposition for tying and just general bad luck while on screen, I think Taro is probably the best driver in the series. At least on a regular basis. He's been most consistently towards the front of the pack I think.

On an slightly unrelated note, I think this series (HW35 and Acceleracers) did an excellent job with how they captured each characters' personality to thier car. Taro's 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner was always my favorite car, and I was kind of disappointed to see that it wasn't in the Acceleracers movies. I used to watch this movie regularly as a kid, revisiting it throughout the years. These movies are just too good to not be more popular. So underrated. It's a shame that it devolved into Battle Shit 5. I wasted a lot of time watching those episodes expecting some high speed racing action. Never again lol
The Roadrunner was in the acceleracers ignition movie, he only used it in the storm realm, he changed the paint to Metal Maniac logos, roll cage added and he supercharged it. After the track shocked him, thats when he didnt have it anymore.
I wouldn't be surprised if the creators made it a point that every time Taro says "I'm gonna pass you" something bad happens, like a bad luck charm. Things like this keep the saga alive for us fans

Taro feels bad for what happened to Kadeem primarily because it was his fault. The ONLY reason I, personally, wanted Acceleracers 5 was to see the other driver's reactions to what happened to Kadeem. Especially Vert, who wasn't even on the mission with them.
We know that there are officially 41 Racing Realms. But the Highway 35 shows these extra areas in the Realms and Battle Force Five shows that there are mini Racing Realms or extra areas within the Realms that were created by a different alien race. There are also nine Realms that are not named. I say there's a Diamond Realm, an Acid Realm, a Mountain Realm, a Beast Realm and a Digital Realm.

Slightly unrelated, but I’ve been rewatching Acceleracers with my friend, and I think Taro takes the most punishment out of the entire cast. In the first three movies alone (plus the in between episodes) his car gets rolled over at least five times. On top of that, he gets shafted out of winning several times, Metro Realm and Water Realm coming to mind.
Yeah, it definitely seems that way. Taro is actually supposed to be Vert's "foil", meaning that the two are opposites. Vert is the naive, lucky main character, while Taro is the unlucky, experience one

You should do a video about what if Vert had gotten to the False Wheel of Power first or got his hands on her after it was taken away from Kert. We know that the Wheel chip would not have destroyed herself if it had been Vert that found it. Vert would have given her to Tesla and Tesla would learn about the Racing Realms earlier.
I just love the little things they had in these movies... Taro left Kadeem to the drones who then fell only for Vert to stop and try to save him. When Taro fell in the lava realm Vert once again stop to save him succeeding this time. Just the stark contrast in both situation, some would say plot armour. P.S: It also was the reference to the time when Taro and Very saved Lani from the lava in a similar fashion in World Race. Too many references!

They have to make a more adult version of this animated series. The car design, the drifting, the gadgets, all stuff that we still love up to this day. We grew up but idk i find this series entertaining still. Just add a bit of blood and make the characters curse. They made a similar anime for anybody's who's interested. It's called Redline

Taro feels bad for what happened to Kadeem primarily because it was his fault. The ONLY reason I, personally, wanted Acceleracers 5 was to see the other driver's reactions to what happened to Kadeem. Especially Vert, who wasn't even on the mission with them.

We know that there are officially 41 Racing Realms. But the Highway 35 shows these extra areas in the Realms and Battle Force Five shows that there are mini Racing Realms or extra areas within the Realms that were created by a different alien race. There are also nine Realms that are not named. I say there's a Diamond Realm, an Acid Realm, a Mountain Realm, a Beast Realm and a Digital Realm.
the legs of the world race are not part of the racing realms. also, battle force 5 is literally not even connected to acceleracers whatsoever

Slightly unrelated, but I’ve been rewatching Acceleracers with my friend, and I think Taro takes the most punishment out of the entire cast. In the first three movies alone (plus the in between episodes) his car gets rolled over at least five times. On top of that, he gets shafted out of winning several times, Metro Realm and Water Realm coming to mind.
Yeah, it definitely seems that way. Taro is actually supposed to be Vert's "foil", meaning that the two are opposites. Vert is the naive, lucky main character, while Taro is the unlucky, experience one

You should do a video about what if Vert had gotten to the False Wheel of Power first or got his hands on her after it was taken away from Kert. We know that the Wheel chip would not have destroyed herself if it had been Vert that found it. Vert would have given her to Tesla and Tesla would learn about the Racing Realms earlier.

Right now, this video made me think that Taro is an Anti-hero.
I just love the little things they had in these movies... Taro left Kadeem to the drones who then fell only for Vert to stop and try to save him. When Taro fell in the lava realm Vert once again stop to save him succeeding this time. Just the stark contrast in both situation, some would say plot armour.
P.S: It also was the reference to the time when Taro and Very saved Lani from the lava in a similar fashion in World Race. Too many references!

They have to make a more adult version of this animated series. The car design, the drifting, the gadgets, all stuff that we still love up to this day. We grew up but idk i find this series entertaining still. Just add a bit of blood and make the characters curse.
