My issue with the Ugarte thing is not that I am anxious that we won’t get him, but it’s weighing up if it’s really worth sticking to their guns when he could be at the club training as the season has started. I think paying what they want but spread out is a good compromise because they are compromising by letting us do that. I guess the lack of demand from other clubs is why we feel that we shouldn’t be matching what they paid for him. I just can’t wait until the end of the window now and get this sorted!!
I think a loan-to-buy option is great as long as we can opt out of buying. Ugarte is a decent, good signing, not an obvious dream signing IMO. A year loan will show whether he is worth a buy or not, and I think if he can prove himself as a great fit in the squad, 60m is doable, or we will have new good options next transfer season, maybe even able to negotiate an offer below the loan-to-buy option we were given for Ugarte if need be.
Manchester United (INEOS) is great at negotiating, but I think they have to make decisions more quickly. The days for the EPL games are approaching rapidly, and I wish Ugarte was already with the team because we need to beat Brighton and especially Liverpool.

Im not sure if Martinez is good in the air or just intelligent play, he doesnt seem to challenge for balls he might lose unless theres cover behind him. He tends to reposition himself to cover as a sweeper instead but his stats are great cause of that. Theres gaps sometimes but thats why a de Ligt, Yoro partnership is so necessary.
