Thanks for the video. I have the exact same setup on my 2018 1090 R. The plate on mine came counter sunk and I used 3/8" long aluminum spacers to get the fender to clear the Outback motortek crash bar. It took about 4 re-installs to get the spacers the right length. On the fork guards, I put the bolt head near the forks, thread out and they worked fine. The instructions actually show it that way too. I also pulled the side reflectors off the old fender and stuck them on the new guards.
Mark, you need to do a video on all the Australian terminology that you use! It would be great! For example, mankey?, nakked? Dodgey, good nick? That would be great!
As per some of the comments below guys, with the fork protectors you installed the bolts revers. The heads go towards the forks and not the threads. Also I believe that you should have countersunk those bolt heads to make it correct. All you needed to do was get a "large" drill bit (1mm larger diameter than the bolt heads) and drill in until you reach full diameter and to finish off, a touch of satin black paint. Also I would have attempted to "bend" the upper crash bar out of the way first, thus requiring less in the way of spacers. Other wise nice job. G'Day from the land of OZ
I have the same crash bars and I'd like to ad the tusk fender... It really sucks that they ain't able to make the instructions and peaces right, i had the same with the crash bars, instructions somewhat incorrect and two bolts missing Not impossible to find a solution, but it really sucks!
The bike looks great. It makes me sad that the quality control on the KTM accessories is so bad with missing/wrong hardware and bad fitment. The only problem I have had with all the addons I have on my DR650 is the spark plug temp sensor for my trailtech vapor. I had to grind out some metal on my cylinder head so that the sensor would fit flush and not damage the sensor. Great work with making it work.
I have to ask why did you use the air cooled temp spark temp sensor instead of one of the other options like the inline water temp or at radiator sensor. I'm looking at the vapor for my klr so I'm interested.
Hey guys, I have a question. Do you think this could go well on the regular 1090 not the R? No off-road at all, so I was wondering how this high kit will do on highways at high speed? Anyone has any experience whatsoever with this product? It looks too good to pass, I need it in my life.
Don`t forget in Victoria you need to have Orange reflectors on the forks or cops will make revenue (dont ask how i know) a guy in dandenong has them for $9 on ebay
Too bad they didn't send you the right stuff. That's a lot of money to have incorrect parts and missing screws. Looks totally great, now, though. Like a proper dirt bike.
NOW THAT IS HOW IT SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE KTM FACTORY NICE WORK

The KTM looks so much better with the high fender, very nice!
Yeah it sure does! :-)
Nice to see Alistor back! Videos are looking good Mark.
Thanks mate! :-)
The high fender is a must I rekon!
Pretty poor for mass producers to miss the little details. Thats why I just keep making things myself!
Yeah really makes a difference! Good Onya mate! :-)
Indeed...
Wow, quite a difference, really suits the bike. Bloody ripper job lads
Thanks heaps mate! :-)
Hi Mark/Al yer bike looks tons better with the higher mudguard, cool..🔧🔧👍
I got a bit of a surprise this morning seeing a sunday night upload haha
LOL... mixing it up! :-)
that just sets the bike off! love it!

That would be great!
Yeah I reckon that would be fun! :-)
Just like Cockney rhyming slang, cor blimey guvnor, why don’t ya.
Get some button head bolts the right length or hit the plate with a oversize drill bit and counter-sink the bolts.
Yeah that would do the trick! :-)

lol ... you put the kickstand foot on, and in the end shot you still put a piece of wood under the foot. Happy Easter!
LOL... I thought that too when I did it, the ground was sloped down there! :-)
Now it looks like a klr650 dont you think?
Looks amazing!
Nice vid. Can you get Alistair’s feedback on how the new front fender goes at high speed on the road. Any wobble or vibration?
I don't believe it does he has not mentioned anything like that! :-)

You blokes done well no wonder nerb loves KTM everything has to be re engineered

Good Onya mate! :-)
Looks like an off road bike now. Much better......
Definitely! :-)

Lets Know how long before it vibrates Loose, And falls off with all the spacers
My thoughts exactly, terrible product.
After 6 years it didn't fell off...
Looking graet.....
Thanks Laz! :-)
Acerbis (pronounced Ah-chair-bees)
Cool Bananas... thanks :-)
Ah! bumble bees
Ah! honey bees
Ah! chair bees
are these last bees only found in Australia lol ; )
Great argument for going with the high fender but to me it looks awful that way. Cheapens the look, like it’s a KLR or something lol
It's a guard not a fender, did u put it in your trunk to get it home.
We are Aussies not yanks

Yeah really added to the look of it! :-)
spose ...cant all be honda Quality ..:)
LOL :-)
What a right bloody dogs dinner, terrible engineering, terrible product, would put me off Acerbis forever.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
