Big bro was part of the Meke group for QVS in 2003. I could remember standing at the top of the steps at the Rabuka gym watching the meke with my late parents. What would be great if we could bring this back to the current students to know the culture.

The Capt (my bro) passed away a couple years ago, but I go back every now and then to watch the Waqavuka here and the continuation clip. You can't tell he's got a steel rod inserted into his leg from injuries during TOD in Middle East from the way he was running around at the stadium.
The guy in the white hair standing is my eldest brother, Samuela Vanini, and I remember travelling down to Tailevu for the sevu ni meke at Nukuvuto grounds.
As they filed out after this particular meke I saw another bro from Waisei and his son, and my nephew Master Jim Naleba and another uncle from Wailevoga....thank God for support of family in these types of national events.
True what the commentator said, it being a real treat to watch a rare occasion like this where theres a very large number of dancers.
Big vinaka valevu to the Vakatara, the backbone of a wonderful and powerful meke. ...UNFORGETABLE...I believe the Privilege is ours as a family of Daunivucus, the meke by the boys on the day was the product of what has always flowed I. our. veins. TOTOKA NA MEKE👏👏👏👏👏

Hardest meke to learn let alone perform, the class of 03 truly set a standard for the rest of us

Totoka ruarua na meke mai ACS kei QVS... well done...
They raised the bar for the rest of the Fijians meke groups.... spectacular .
Bought to life the tribal and ancient voices and songs..
makes me imagine our ancient ancestors.
    Totoka.

Stood in the grandstand watching this back when the stadium looked like it was about to fall from all the jumping created by all the excitement. The shaking of the stands added more to the hype.

Was class 4. This was the biggest thing Fiji had hosted that I watched live. This SPG was the first time I can remember being proud of my country.
The opening ceremony. John Lum Kon, Jone Delai and Makelesi Bulikiobo tearing it up on the tracks. The Fiji soccer team causing an upset by winning the gold. Great memories from that time.
