I'm a Day 1 fan of MIA back in her Bucky Done Gun and Galang Galang days. Back when I was a liberal (benevolent liberal not like these crazy/malevolent ones running around today). She's the post-2000 RATM. After she came out I noticed artists like Beyonce, Nelly Furtado etc copying a LOT of her style & mode of expression. She's right she didn't truly need a deal. They definitely galvanized her organic popularity. If she just hung in there into the smart-phone age she would have still went big. Maybe even bigger. . Man, at the end of the interview it got rough with how disengaged PBD was. It's disrespectful to be looking at your phone, not giving verbal or physical cues to the person you're having a conversation with that you're listening. Clearly he wasn't. It's fine to switch subjects, but you need to have finesse about it, the lack of interest he showed in what she was saying towards the end was so embarrassing.
He's looking up information on the phone. Either that or his laptop. That's what interviewers do nowadays. It's normal procedure. He's not checking his social accounts.
I would be disinterested too she was talking a lot but not saying anything this entiiiire podcast my criticism is him not ever not stopping her & asking wtf she was going on about
I kind of wish that you guys did a longer podcast. It was a little tough at times because she’s a kind of beat around the bush kind of girl what It was a delightful conversation. She is definitely one of my favorite artists and I loved getting a glimpse into her brain.
Always Liked MIA's music. Didn't know much about the back story. The interview is really hard to follow without knowing about the history of what they are speaking about, I'd suggest going and looking it all up before watching.

I feel like the conversation finally started to hit a good stride and could have gone for an other hour or two and then bam, gotta go to the airport :( love you M.I.A. The very last bit about god and your life assignment felt spot on to me
PBD was like a lawyer with those direct questions about the industry, she was dodging those direct questions like neo from the matrix....should have just said I plead the fif....
This woman is one of the most forward thinking intelligent people in modern music and has always stood up against political corruption and I am pleased she found god and wish her the best for her life in the future !!!!

When you can’t tell straight there’s something being covered up
I'm a Day 1 fan of MIA back in her Bucky Done Gun and Galang Galang days. Maybe even bigger. . She is a creative genius in her own rite but humble and down to earth. Her fans are True fans. Praying for spiritual protection for her as she continues forward in her own journey. 🙌🏾🩵🩵🩵
People like M.I.A. give me a hope, that with God's grace, our world can defeat Satan and all the evil .. We wili win this spiritual war .. Patrick huge respect for given M.I.A. a voice 💜💜💜💜
Because she didn't deliver. What did she think this was going to be about??
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
He's looking up information on the phone. Either that or his laptop. That's what interviewers do nowadays. It's normal procedure. He's not checking his social accounts.
I would be disinterested too she was talking a lot but not saying anything this entiiiire podcast my criticism is him not ever not stopping her & asking wtf she was going on about
She talked like politician, she's definitely being controlled or fearful
I kind of wish that you guys did a longer podcast. It was a little tough at times because she’s a kind of beat around the bush kind of girl what It was a delightful conversation. She is definitely one of my favorite artists and I loved getting a glimpse into her brain.
Always Liked MIA's music. Didn't know much about the back story. The interview is really hard to follow without knowing about the history of what they are speaking about, I'd suggest going and looking it all up before watching.
Tamil is a classical language. Old as Latin . But she is linking Aramaic to Tamil..
Tamil is older than Latin. Aramaic is native to Ancient Mesopotamia.
after 1000 years from now on people gonna say the same for someone's speech in the future ,, she is linking korean to tamil LOL
I adore M.I.A. May God continue to draw her near to His heart.
Great to take a break from politics! Great interview!
I love you even more now that you had M.I.A on, PBD! 💪🏼

patrick- she faced the dark forces running the music and the world and is still alive- very sensitive topic- we dont know what she went through- and what they did to her kid- so we dont want to create that again by putting her on the spot- shes brave but may not want to go over it all over again. great choice for a pod cast- thanks which I got to co host this
M.I.A. I fly like paper 🎶 that was my jam
Borders is also great
God Bless MIA , love her, have since the first song I heard of hers forever ago. Paper Planes is one of my all time favorites

I feel like the conversation finally started to hit a good stride and could have gone for an other hour or two and then bam, gotta go to the airport :( love you M.I.A. The very last bit about god and your life assignment felt spot on to me
M.I.A is a pioneer and legend. Thanks PBD!
He kept a global artist in a concrete cell
8:12 song Ichak Dana Bichak Dana, thanks for this series man; so much to learn here from real life experiences of real people

Paper Planes is still my jam!!!!! I wish her the best ❤❤❤ Good always overcomes evil ! stay strong luv ❤❤❤❤❤
MIA is incredible.
Such a dynamic and intelligent woman and artist! Thanks for having her on PBD, keeping diversity in guests and their professional genres.
I liked MIA even before I spoke English, the people mad cus pbd posted this interview now. I think he’s obligated to post whatever he wants.
It offends their sense of ownership, as if PBD is their diamond in the rough. As he polishes himself and broadens his appeal it offends their sensibilities. Some children don't like to share.
She’s very intelligent, and it shines through her music.
M.I.A. big fan here, love your music
PBD…FACTS. Sometimes in life you been through so much it’s hard to explain.
Don’t let soldier boy find out she’s saying she’s the first😂😂
I mean the truth does hurt the best of us at times😉
Who?
Facts! 😅
@@widerthanpicturessoldier boy!! Know your pop culture!
@@sarahalderman3126 The truth is Soulja was the first internet star. He came out in the early 2000s releasing songs on illegal music sites. and mia came out in the 2010s
Been her fan since Paper Planes.. love M.I.A... real, her vibe so even kill... 🔥
She is 49! I always thought she was closer to my age of 35. Wow she looks great.
