she is just a fantastic human being. i’m not sure exactly why she agreed to be on this show, but i’m very glad we got a chance to hear her in long form and to witness her vulnerability and internal struggle. there is a hard spiritual climb between being a victim of narcissism and power structures and taking your power back, not to beat them or to ‘win’ but to return to your spirit’s purpose and to LOVE. it is to also realize they never actually ‘win’ because of who they’ve allowed themselves to be. nothing false can end well. “No one can serve two masters. Man, at the end of the interview it got rough with how disengaged PBD was. It's disrespectful to be looking at your phone, not giving verbal or physical cues to the person you're having a conversation with that you're listening. Clearly he wasn't. It's fine to switch subjects, but you need to have finesse about it, the lack of interest he showed in what she was saying towards the end was so embarrassing.
He's looking up information on the phone. Either that or his laptop. That's what interviewers do nowadays. It's normal procedure. He's not checking his social accounts.
I would be disinterested too she was talking a lot but not saying anything this entiiiire podcast my criticism is him not ever not stopping her & asking wtf she was going on about
Because she can't speak candidly on anything, it makes this interview frustrating. She's dancing around certain things. I get it, but why do the interview if you can't speak.
I dl feel for her, Her Babby daddy is from an elite family she knows how much they can destroy her and her sons life if she says the wrong thing so I understand why she deflected on the subject. moral of the story is becareful who you sleep with as some families have the power to silence even the strongest warriors amoung us
Obvious now that because she couldn’t be controlled she was shunned by the elite , she had some absolute powerful beats and was a fresh positive soundtrack to lots of us in our twenties. Hopefully there’s a shift now in the music industry and we can get back listening to talent. She’s still on my shuffle x legend

Wtf?! Are you high?! Without exaggeration, dumbest guest so far! Jesus spoke Tamil, she doesn't know what capitalism is, fashion will change the world, her son has swagger bla bla. Who even cares what this internet celebrity has to say? Thanks for wasting my time! I was about to skip this whole thing but I clicked on your timestamp thinking you might be an average smart internet user. Use the time stamp responsibly next time!
Pat why won't you touch on Zionism or Peter theils connections to the CIA love your pod but Whitney Webb said certain pods take money to skip certain subjects this involves America and all of us big tech censorship etc
And HOW PETER THEIL LITERALLY "MADE" JD VANCE and BROUGHT him to TRUMP, who at the LAST MINUTE MADE him his VP RUNNING MATE: th-cam.com/video/NRNy8v_Ocgg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4u3JbYLVYwDkc7Kt
Whitney Webb is fascinating but she makes a lot of conjecture and speculation and tries to inundate someone with "sources" to make what she is saying appear legit. However, if you looked into the sources, they aren't saying what she states they say.
I’ve really enjoyed your podcasts PBD. I’ve been a listener for the past year or so and truly think the future looks bright. Are there any hopes that the home team podcasts will increase the closer we get to election? I much rather come here to get my news than any other outlet.

As a Tamilian I can say she's right about 90% about what she's talking about the language Tamil and its relation to the middle east. Not sure about the stuff she talks about Jesus on the cross
@@JacobTimothyM lol I guess education has failed you. There is a lot of discrepancies in this tale. No. You are not related to that very vague and geopolitical neologism non-existent place that is called 'middle east'. First thing you need to know is that 'middle east' corresponds to the levant and the Arabian peninsula. The cities of Uruk and Suse ARE NOT even located there. The languages of the Elamites and Sumerians are not even Semitic. So MIA and you, and Tamil "nationalists" should change your narratives and concentrate on your South Asian rich heritage instead of attaching yourselves to places and people you know nothing about. Because you start sounding like the African Americans descendants of west African slaves claiming to be related to ancient Egyptians. It's pathetic.
What happened with MIA is just what happens under capitalism - re-appropriation of any dissenting/critical voice/position by integrating into the dominant cultural perspective/position. In other words, make the dissenting perspective into a commodity to identify with, and then to profit from. Which is to say: defang it by making it disingenuine.
She is an exceptional human on so many levels, a true artist, mother, teacher, advocate activist, futuristic renaissance super hero innovator banger maker
I was a ride or die M.I.A. fan back in the Limewire days before MySpace became a thing. Insane to think how she was the first artist to really break the internet. Last time I went to her concert was in Brooklyn summer of 2010. I was 19 years old. That’s probably right when she had her baby and was dealing with custody with Roc Nation. Insane to think they had that kind of legal hold on her. God bless her. No one deserves that.
Watching PBD since jump, was watching another Podcaster about Jay-Z and she was in the conversation and PBD was mentioned, quickly shut it down and came here for this, she definitely can not candid about her industry. Protecting her child is #1, i get this. Just cuz she couldnt make it doesnt mean industry is bad or what ever !!!!
@@sameersheriff7078 she couldn't make it? She made it. Billions of views on social media. That residual income means she's rich
@@BOZ_11 What about her songs though hardly heard any of it and has just handful of views and now shes more into podcasts taking crap about expanding consciousness and shit promoting drug use 😂 !!!
Maybe a track in nfs hot pursuit which was "born free " I guess other than that not much !!!
Her song called time traveller was trending on social media some months ago that's how I came to remember her other than that there are loads of better artists than her and this whole interview is to pander to asian audience to boast views !!!
@@sameersheriff7078 " has just handful of views"
Handful. Stop writing, just go to her social media accounts. Tens of millions PER video
Initially, The US kept her banned from the US Market... They wanted to call her a terrorist. Kind of like when the US Banned the (Aboriginal American)Red Bone song, " we were all wounded at wounded knee"... Shitty US Government... US Governmental Terrorist calling People Terrorists...
Because she didn't deliver. What did she think this was going to be about??
He's looking up information on the phone. Either that or his laptop. That's what interviewers do nowadays. It's normal procedure. He's not checking his social accounts.
I would be disinterested too she was talking a lot but not saying anything this entiiiire podcast my criticism is him not ever not stopping her & asking wtf she was going on about
She talked like politician, she's definitely being controlled or fearful
@@x-heat2666she did a hell of a lot better than Kamala could ever muster I'll take her any day 🎯👍👌🫡🤷
I saw MIA at le nef in France 2008, Amazing artist, sending blessings ❤
Because she can't speak candidly on anything, it makes this interview frustrating. She's dancing around certain things. I get it, but why do the interview if you can't speak.
Agree the only thing she talks about is Tamil and it’s history
Holy cow she’s 49 years old…. She looks so good!
I dl feel for her, Her Babby daddy is from an elite family she knows how much they can destroy her and her sons life if she says the wrong thing so I understand why she deflected on the subject. moral of the story is becareful who you sleep with as some families have the power to silence even the strongest warriors amoung us
Then why bring it up at all? What’s the point either tell it or don’t
@@Biggums_Tyrone so true
What are you talking about? For those of us who skipped this low IQ conversation.
@@Biggums_Tyronemuch easier said than done when trying to be vulnerable and give insight to us people on to what’s going on.
AHHHH.. LIME WIRE... WHAT A TIME.. LOL
Patricks aiming for asian audience to boost his views bruh..!!!
before that i was using kazaaa , it was really big that time , napster was before that but internet speeds were not that good , but during kazaa filesharing became really big
Limewire was good. Kazza was the best though.
Damn we old 😅
Was it a music video? or a Cartel b-heading video? "double click to find out"
She did a whole word salad she obviously has been threatened 😗
🎯
Been listening to her music since 2005! I knew her style of music would connect with me.
I simply adore M.I.A. especially the remix she did with T.I., Lil. Wayne, Kanye with the lil role she played her voice made it! She looks the same - as if she doesn't age - simply beautiful...
PBD please do more live podcasts brother. We enjoy these specials, but we LOVE the home team pods. Anyway let’s see how this one is 🙂
huh?
eww why the audio quality is horrible the chemistry is bad live this way better
Yeah. I don't watch these to the end. More pop culture, which I hate.
He’s doing a agreat job because pbd giving us a lil bit everything politics, music , sports ect… if it was just one niche it would be boring
@@kilnmasterwe getting a lil bit of everything bro
MIA your most important role is Motherhood! Keep the fight to reunite with your son Praying for you! 🙏🏽❤️🩹
PBD dope interview. I think hands by far you are the best podcaster. Everything that you do and put out is amazing and just wanna give you ur flowers cuz you deserve it .. MUCH RESPECT
I really truly appreciate and enjoyed this show!!! Thanks PBD for having MIA as a phenomenal guest!
When you can’t tell straight there’s something being covered up
MIA is the definition of growth... that a real bad girl bro❤
patrick- she faced the dark forces running the music and the world and is still alive- very sensitive topic- we dont know what she went through- and what they did to her kid- so we dont want to create that again by putting her on the spot- shes brave but may not want to go over it all over again. great choice for a pod cast- thanks which I got to co host this
They can never make me hate you MIA. she’s so real for this world and considering what’s going on with the music industry and business side of it I believe what she’s expressing 💕✨✨💕💕
BIG FACTS around 1:28:00 min mark! That's the real conversation.
I've been following you since day 1. Your music has been on my playlist on a loop for 20 years. Keep being unapologetically real.
Check out Maya's recent interview with Candace Owens...
My sisters and I bumped her “Akala” album in the car nonstop it was our pregame tracks for the Buck wildness about to drop. Now being born again and watching her come to Christ has been mind blowing!
Ooo I have been waiting on this one! Hi MIA from my daughter and my sons and myself! It’s been awhile and they miss you and your talent girl. ❤ your story… remarkable. 100% w/you. Take care and God bless you 💐🙏🏼 Us little people care much, much, for you darling.
M.I.A. Has been my musical role model since 2009. God bless her.
People like M.I.A. give me a hope, that with God's grace, our world can defeat Satan and all the evil .. We wili win this spiritual war .. Patrick huge respect for given M.I.A. a voice 💜💜💜💜
She's the real deal and the music industry couldn't handle it. I hope she never changes. Great video!
She’s one of the most unique artists of the last 20 years
Don’t let soldier boy find out she’s saying she’s the first😂😂
I mean the truth does hurt the best of us at times😉
Who?
Facts! 😅
@@widerthanpicturessoldier boy!! Know your pop culture!

Great to take a break from politics! Great interview!
She's Sri Lankan . Proud of her as a fellow Sri Lankan.
wu tang Pharrell and Kanye made me weird . but when m.i.a dropped PaperPLanes.... it gave me full and absolute confidence too live my life as an ODDBALL/outlier/risktaker/tastemaker . thank you girl I shot the music video for the first remix to paper planes on youtube
They can never make me dislike her. She's smart.
PBD was like a lawyer with those direct questions about the industry, she was dodging those direct questions like neo from the matrix....should have just said I plead the fif....
I subscribed to this channel because of this interview. 🔥
I loved listening to her and her history! Please have more in depth conversations like this
She's very careful with her words, but is still telling it all. Thanks hon
Why are we interviewing mia and not having a hometeam pod during some of the most important events of the year? Y’all dropped the ball the past week and a half
Agreed
literally had the same thought glad someone else said it
This fits in exactly with this week. Open your eyes. What you learn today is the future
@@mitchellhogan5142agree 💯 %… perfect timing. 👏🏽
They were away at the RNC and these were pre-recorded pods
She's got so much charisma. Feminine magic.
Thank you ma'am.
M. I. A. is her name. Maya is a whole other person. She tried to gently correct you but you weren't listening. Unfortunately it's clear you are not familiar with her.
Isn't her full name Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam?
M.I.A is her stage name not her real name. Her name is Maya.
Yes@@kevenpeoples
Shes extremely well spoken and seems like shes to real for that wicked industry
I feel sorry for her such a talented woman gone thru alot
This video was extremely informative 👏 Thank you 🙏🏼
What happened with MIA is just what happens under capitalism - re-appropriation of any dissenting/critical voice/position by integrating into the dominant cultural perspective/position.
M.I.A. big fan here, love your music
this interview is something I had no idea would be this impactful on me
Hello PBD i'm from Georgia and i love ur podcast 💥 Thank u MIA Georgia loves u.
no one in the corner has swagger like us lolol
Watching PBD since jump, was watching another Podcaster about Jay-Z and she was in the conversation and PBD was mentioned, quickly shut it down and came here for this, she definitely can not candid about her industry. Protecting her child is #1, i get this. PBD even without merch im always pushing your presence and guarantee that if they follow and listen they will continue for the common sense knowledge of yourself, your guys, and the way you keep the guests interesting. ❤
