I think my favorite aspect outside of the performance was seeing two accomplished, strong women sharing a stage with ZERO animosity or competition or sense of oneupmenship. They went out there fully embracing each other and gave the world one hell of a show.
Definitely subscribed, best review I’ve seen, respectful of the artist, you didn’t ask for Beyoncé or Cardi B, made fun of Bad Bunny’s outfit or J Balvin, focused on their talents and not if they were lip singing or not, thank you for appreciating Latin music.

To many people, this is a sound version of making a funny or silly face when you're a kid. It's not anyone's fault that they don't know it's a cultural thing....just like it's not your fault that you didn't know that this would strike many people as funny, silly, and random based on their own past experiences. No one can possibly know everything. :)

Hey! We have the same taste, could see that. It's not Daddy Yankee, but J Balvin, another Colombian singer. Last minute salsa dancers are also colombian and I am too! Loved your video and the fact that you're a voice coach. I sing and I totally identified with your comments. 14:15 was amazing. What you heard in spanish is mostly salsa and reggaeton. Salsa is very popular here in Colombia, even more in Cali (Colombia's third city) where all salsa world champions are born. Just want to add that Shakira is from Barranquilla a city very close to Cartagena, on the colombian north coast. This is why she sings "en Barranquilla me quedo yo" (In Barranquilla I stay) at 5:32. "Champeta" is the music genre they dance at 18:19. It originated in Barranquilla too, as a mixture of african and colombian rhythms.

I loved your comments and astute feedback. Also, thank you for promoting support for singing. I'm a teacher and I invite my students to sing along. It was tough at first, since "singing in class" seems to horrify California students (who've sadly been raised not singing together daily). This would be a great shift in American culture, if students sang in class every day. Thank you.
