Thank you for the amazing comments. The Aces will live on forever, even though they have been forgotten by todays music. They set the table for the vocal groups of today.
Peter Rock consiguió lo máximo: Tener a Los 4 Ases junto a él. Hoy estarán cantando todos ( los 5 ) en el cielo ... Se pone la piel de gallina escucharlos
I was little when they were here (months or a year or 2). And my parents told me everyday they said: "Ok, now we're going to see them", but for my fault, they never could. And they stayed A LOT here. I always feel so guilty for that. =/
It is shame that no one has been written something about this video. Personally I am very proud of the Chilean orchestra directed by our Juan Salazar palying with this four great aces of the music. And their beautiful voices.
This is actually the ORIGINAL 4 Aces. By April of 2013 all of these original members had passed away. There is another group that has the rights to use the name, with no original members, led by singer Fred Diodati, who replaced the original lead vocalist, Al Alberts, in 1958. As original members left, one-by-one, Diodati continued on with new members. When the originals decided to reform in the '70s, they were forced, in court, to use the name "The Original 4 Aces, Featuring Al Alberts"... Diodati continues on as of 2015. He sang none of the group's hits.
You are primarily correct, except The new Aces sing almost all of the originals songs. As a matter of fact, they were just on PBS, on a 50' pop show, where they are introduced as The Four Aces after the Originals Album is shown on the TV screen. And of course they sang Three Coins in the Fountain and Love is a many splendored thing......To Me, These are The Four Aces.
I never said the current group DIDN'T sing the original group's songs. In fact, that's about ALL they sing. The point is that the only one who actually worked with any of the original members is Fred Diodati, and the group had all of their hits BEFORE Diodati replaced Al Alberts. The other three in the current group have no connection to the original group, or their recordings. They may have sung "Three Coins..." and "Love Is...", but they have no connection to those recorded hits whatsoever.

yes, that's correct. Al, then Dave and the Sod left the group. Louie never left and formed the new Aces, adding Fred and Joe (who is still with the new Aces), the third singer Louie added has also passed away. Louie then went back to the originals when they reunited and continued with them until 1988.
The ruling Left says that these years were of cultural blackout in Chile. The 80's were in Chile like the roaring 20's in the USA, the country bloomed in every walk of living.
