    You'll easily find the battery here !
    USA ● CR1632 Battery .... amzn.to/2HVci8D
    CANADA ● CR1632 Battery .... amzn.to/2qa4RoU
    Full Transparency! A small portion of each sale goes from Amazon's pocket to my pocket with no additional cost to you! Thanks for your support. It's very much appreciated!

    Wow. I can’t believe how easy you made this. I replaced both key fob batteries in less than five minutes. Batteries and bulbs wanted to charge me $24 plus the cost of the batteries $6. Nice trick about the end of the key. Thank you so much!

    OMG, THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this video-My key fob died, and after I took the hidden key out, I had no idea how to get it open, or that the key also worked as a clever little tool to open it with, which is a great idea!
    I had tried three different kinds of screwdrivers to pry it open with, but nothing was working and I was afraid I might break it, so I decided to look here on TH-cam-and that’s how I found your video!
    I didn’t even notice that it had that key slot until you showed it.
    I do wish that the dealership had showed me how to do this when I first got it, Instead of trying to get me to come in to have them do it for me? I’m assuming that it’s not done for free. Either way, I’m grateful that you did!

    Perfect video. I kept getting the message on the dash cluster that said “Key Battery Low with both key fobs so of course I hit TH-cam after not seeing any clear way to pop the halves apart. Your video was the easiest to follow especially using the tip of the hidden key trick but you missed something. That rubber cover sheet has a single tiny post molded into it which drops into a tiny matching hole in the front half of the shell where the buttons are. It’s in the lower right corner as you look at things in your video where you’re dropping the rubber sheet over the buttons and points downward. I didn’t go by the shape of the rounded corners, with that little rubber post and that tiny hole, the rubber can only drop in one way and sit flush in the front half before placing in the circuit board. Overall though, a very easy job which took minutes and no more error message in the dash cluster.

  • @BGSGBF

    Guys, just to NOTE that in my GX460 2014 the battery replaced is VERY differently: the plate with "L" just slides out and there the small compartment for the battery, with the door on 4 bolts (tiny screwdriver is needed). RESPECT and like to the Author of the vid, but remember: if any doubt or difference between your key fob and the vid - do not apply any force, look for the other solution :)

      Any 1632 battery is all you need. Duracell did that years ago to make people think they needed a battery with the "DL" at the start. That just mean "Duracell". Just a marketing ploy.

    Im borrowing an older LS and I think the key fob battery died, as it's not unlocking/locking the car. I see it has a key that slides out but where does the key go? I can't see any keyholes on the doors. I'm not within walking distance of a battery store so any advice would be appreciated! thanks

    • @chrisnotap
      @chrisnotap  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That key that pulls out of the key fob is to unlock the door. There is a little cover on the door handle on the drivers side. You pop it off and you can unlock the door with the key. You then bring the key fob right up to the start button as close as you can then push the start button (with the fob still as close as you can) and It will start the car.
