Yeah, actually enjoyed the video editing portion of this sorting through the action and picking the cool close-up shots showing the suspension movement.
Incase you didnt know the silver screws on the shocks are reverse thread. I thought the dogbones and that would be a issue without having an upper control arm I added some droop to it before taking it out and no dogbone issue. The tire having to come off is a major pain they initially had a quick release thats in the manual thats why it had the addendum showing the wing nut. My tire is staying off. Whether you want it or not at this price point the cheap non gyro receiver is not acceptable. You did not mention the battery tray it can only hold a smaller 3s packs there is no getting a single 6s in here the way its designed its tight for the 3s other than that good review as always
At my LHS a while ago they were trying to fix a standard size U4 & were shocked at how small most of the bits were for the size. They seem a great idea, but like the Axial Yeti XL I had; it was scaled up from the 1:10, but not enough & it kept breaking in moderate use. Losi seem to try harder than others & I have a number of their vehicles, but this one ain't on the shopping list.
Losi seems to skimp on the drivetrains for some reason. The tenacity line and the lasernut line are very small. My 3s losi DBpro has smaller diff internals than a 2wd brushed slash
@@V8chump DB Pro is one of the best in their 1/10 range, really like mine, but anything based one the 1/10 Rey's needs better driveshafts after a few runs due to bending. & agree, internals seem small for the size.
You've made another great video. And you honestly address the weak points, which I think is great. Of course you can't speak plainly, that's clear to everyone. Losi is a specialist in stretching vehicles, we've known that since the whole Rey series, 1/10 platforms are getting bigger and bigger. But the fact that they're now building a 1/6 based on a size that's no bigger than the Slash is clearly taking it too far. Wake up people, 1/8 competition lightweight construction??? That's just 1:10 well marketed, the bearings in the diff are Tamiya size! With the Super Rey they showed what a real 1:6 drive train looks like, so they would know, and they're fooling us more and more. Experience shows that the model will be discontinued in two years at the latest anyway, parts will no longer be available either, thanks Horizon!
It's just clicked for me that 2 of my favorite rigs to own but rarely drive because they're not really good at both Losi. I love my LMT but hate driving it because it's terrible at RC truck stuff and breaks a lot. I love my Super Rock Rey. It's the cheapest large scale I've ever had because i bought it when it was on that crazy sale last year for $500 or so. I have only driven it a few times because I'm not exactly sure what to do with it. It's not a monster basher but also not a great handling rig. I think my Super Baja Rey 2.0 drives much better but i like the SRR more. I've decided that Losi is really good at making really good, bad trucks.
17:28 what’s the issue with the outdrive? They look like they rubbed a little on the outside and warped where the dogbone sits a tiny bit but it doesn’t look too bad?
DoRC has had some issues durability wise. He's been more demanding of the car but I think an 800usd platform should handle it. Like said, 1/6th rig (with all the extra weight, power, etc) using 1/8th parts is not the better starting point.
That thing is a monster!! Funny how it needed mending after light abuse. Good review. Looks like it was fun. Have a nice weekend. Where in CT was this? I’m in The New Haven area.
I love the Losi designs, but have never been satisfied with their durability. I have the Tenacity DB PRo and it constant eats diff gears. Got tired of fixing it and upgraded to an Arrma Mojave EXB and have never broken any of the mechanical parts. The original Lasernut and the DBXL-E both have really poor reputations for durability. I know that they arent' marketed as bashers but having an RC just fall apart with normal use is unacceptable. Curious to see how this holds up.
Come on dude! That car should for sure be 8S. I understand why they went 6S with it, just look at the weakness in the front suspension. Horizon should invested a little more in beefing up the vehicle. The charge top dollar for Losi products and typically Im a big Losi supporter but in this case there are better options for your money.
I wish they went smaller like 1/7th and beefed it up a bit. Just seems underpowered (edit) maybe not so underpowered* with 1/8th size parts. Then again this isn't really a basher and more suited for just general offroading/driving. I wouldn't even want to attempt to jump this thing lol

I love mine. 6 charges through it with no real issues. I bash my Arrmas, this is a scale rig. It's plenty quick on 6s, and accelerates really hard. It's way lighter than my Super Rock Rey, or any of my 8s rigs for that matter, so it is perfectly fine on 6s.
i love how Losi goes so much out of their way to aesthetically replicate the original 1:1 car... but are the exact opposite mechanically, choosing the laziest route possible, resulting in some really poorly designed and made RCs (all of their U4 RCs are... no good), that have nearly nothing to do with the original...

That trick only works with dogbones and not the front universals which is what I had a problem with.

It’s smart. Standard screws backed themselves out as the shock moved on early versions of the 8ight. The reverse screws fixed the problem.
