  • It's the only non-turbo engine in IMSA's new WeatherTech SportsCar Championship hybrid GTP class and it makes incredible sounds while generating a ton of power.
Take a look at the power behind the Cadillac V-LMDh which makes its racing debut at the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Wow. I'm a big GM fan and totally missed this one. I watch Le Mans yearly and cheer the Corvette on. I did not realize Cadillac had planned to re-enter Le Mans. This engine was impressive. Cadillac finished race at 3rd and 4th. I know its not first but it seems impressive for this engine. I'm happy Corvette one 1st in the GT Class. Go Chevrolet and Cadillac!!!!

You missed a treat. Great race. This car did really well battling the heavily favored Ferrari and Toyota teams all night. Cadillac even lead the race for a short while.

I still have a sneaking suspicion that it's the C8.R block and heads with a crossplane crank and corresponding firing order to give it that unique sound.

This is what GM could put on road cars if it wasn't for all the epa regulations and electronics that modern cars require. Pure compression and cam design optimized for performance, nothing more. Put that dame engine in a street vehicle and it's game over.

You are still getting the Power numbers wrong. Its a 500kw wheel power performance Target. But the engine Power is 15% higher, around 575kw. So its mot a 670hp engine. Its a 770hp engine.

That means the 500kw at the wheels are 575kw at the crankshaft. Also they don't have a hard Limit they have a Performance Window which is between 500 and 520kw at the wheels depending on the BoP

2.4 liter displacement is a tiny for you guys?
Having too much displacement like a 5.5 liter LS engine still call it small block for that displacement WTH.

You have to remember that an LS engine is absolutely microscopic relative to its displacement because of its pushrod design. An LS7, with its massive 7 liters of displacement, is both lighter and has smaller exterior dimensions than BMW's 4 liter S65 V8.
