Hey guys - trying to subscribe to the community, but the email code takes hours (12+) to arrive. By then I've closed the browser and lost the login portal. I get other email during the period so that's working. Just a 'heads-up' if there's a problem on the programing side.
Happy 100th! It's become a Wednesday afternoon tradition for me to have a beverage (sorry but I hate diet soft drinks and enjoy beer) and listen to learn. I always pick up something but the main thing is inspiration. Here's a crazy one that happened to me yesterday. Monday dry droppers were not happening on my mountain stream. Tight line nymphing was. Tuesday I stubbornly went back to dry dropper. And got into fish immediately. Then I saw something strange. My attractor caddis looking thing started to jiggle and then a nice 14 inch rainbow (big for this water) slurped it. Yay I thought, he took the dry. And then the goat rodeo commenced. A similar sized fish had simultaneously eaten the nymph. I was not successful in landing the two fish but stood stunned in the water for a minute before moving on. It was a great day on my favorite stream 2 week's before it closes. Thanks for this great channel and content.
@venturesflyco I sure do. And still in shock about that fly fishing moment. This was a great show. The parts about wild places vs. just catching fis h really resonated with me. Nature is why I fly fish. That connection to a fish on a fly rod is magical.
excellent points! You guys do a great job. You can tell this is a true passion of yours. (teaching us to fly fish better) Thanks!!! What I would add 1) early in your fly fishing endeavor (if you can afford it) take a casting class at your local fly shop. 2) go fishing with a guide. Bad habits are easier to break if you never learn them in the 1st place.
Great show. I totally get that special feeling of being out on a river at first light. Magical. I’d love to hear more about that egg bomber fly pattern. Congrats on 100 shows.
Happy 100 Episodes, I love tuning into untagled while I'm trying to do homework for my class. I recently just got into fly fishing and I really find this podcast helpful! I'm still waiting for an episode to talk about finding the right waders and boots. Diet Coke fam all the way
Happy 100th episode!!!! You keep making these and I will keep watching! Cheers to the team. That was a 2 Coke Zero and 2 Diet Coke show. Lenny lost his ____! LOL. Here's to the next 100 episodes!!!! Regards Team Pepsi
Happy 100th episode! Could you guys please make a video about you asking an AI to create any dryfly or nymphe pattern, then binding and testing it in real on trout? Would be really interesting! Greetings from Germany 🤗
Just came across the Pod cast today not much of a trout fisherman more into swinging flies around for steelhead and it seems less scientific really looking forward to learning more too see if this will matter in my home water
My beginner set up is a Scientific Anglers 5 weight starter set. Did I pick the wrong setup. It cost $100.00 It is still what I use at least once a week.
2 things. Bigfoot is very stealthy and an excellent fisherman. Also let's get some stuff up on those plan white walls. I can send you an 8x10 photo of myself if you need something to hang. :)

Thanks to VFC! I have learned more with you as teachers than in the decades of magazine articles from the best flyfishing experts!

i would actually honestly recommend a Cabela's cgr 2 weight for a first rod at least on smaller streams like around here
Man that's crazy having to drive 2 or 3 hours just to find decent water glad I live in Pennsylvania 😅😅
Ask Tom Rosenbauer onto the show!! Do it with you guys!
