I could see these dusted along the edges with some cheddar cheese powder on a paintbrush like a delicate flower. Very interesting. Or some blue pea powder or ube powder. That would be so pretty.
For seasoning, something with harissa powder would look beautifully pink! Perhaps some beautiful alternated combinations of nice seasonings with bases of turmeric (yellow), harissa (pink/purple) and paprika (scarlet) and some combination with cumin to make a rich orange would work for functional and visual seasoning.
As a Vietnamese, rice paper and rice take a huge part in our cuisine. And there are so many different kind of rice paper as well. My family usually fries the coconut rice paper (from my hometown in middle of Vietnam), it includes coconut milk, a lot of sesame seeds and some garlic and it's a lot thicker than normal rice paper. Absolutely tasty and it's the ultimate snack, you can also grill it but i think frying them brings out a lot of that coconut flavor. It would be awesome if you could try it someday Emmy.
I think these would look gorgeous on a cake or some kind of dessert! But especially like a wedding cake that lacy rustic almost antiqued flower look is just so beautiful!
They look like Gordonia flowers - also known as the 'fried egg' tree as the flowers fall face up with white petals and a yellow center. What a fun episode - THANKS Emmy!!
It looks totally worth the effort though! And it seems totally like the kind of thing to do with friends, so you can all ooh and ahh over the flowers blooming together!
I recently saw Tasty Japan do a short on these, but there was no explanation, only demonstration. I had no idea what the colored rice was. Thanks for showing me!
That is the coolest thing EVER! It reminds me of straight rice noodles that puff up when you cook them as well. Light, crunchy and a great snack! Always the most amazing chef on the planet! 😁🥰 I’m gonna make this one! YUMMY! Sending more love and thanks for everything you do! ♥️
For some reason, these make me want to dip them in ponzu sauce. I think it's the idea of the spring-like flower with the bright zingy-ness of ponzu. It would cut the oiliness as well, but you'd have to dip and then immediately bite to get that amazing crunch! These would be a really fun dish to make with guests over as a super easy but impressive appetizer. Super cool!
Those would be beautiful served on top of a spring garden salad, with spinach and lettuces and herbs and edible flowers. It would be so fun for a spring themed lunch or dinner!
I do this, without the rice, to decorate pavlova, trifle, & cakes. Very low value & quick, but very impressive looking decorations! No extra sugar, plus texturally interesting - all the wins.
For a sneaky punch of pretty flavor mix a small amount of beetroot powder with white cheddar cheese powder. Pretty pink and oh so tasty!! Cut some thin steaight strips, mix spinach powder and white cheddar cheese powder and glue them on after for stems!!
I wonder if the center, the yolk part of a boiled egg or half of one would work. If the flower was smaller you could use them to top a salad. In my family we make 2 kinds of salads that get topped with boiled egg. One is a spinach salad the other a wilted bitter lettuce salad with bacon bits and scallion or onions and German boiled dressing. Either of those would be pretty adorned with a few edible eggy flowers.
I'm always looking for different things to do with my rice paper. Definitely gonna try this. So much more prettier that just making boring 'ol rice paper chips. Thanks Emmy!😊
You can dip the rice sheets and salty water for 10 seconds, then put them in a nonstick pan, with some low cal cooking spray. Cook them until they have a somewhat stiffer flower tortilla type consistency. Then put them on a paper plate and microwave them for 10 seconds at a time, flipping them frequently. They will finish drying out, and puff up slightly. They are extremely low calorie and you can season them with nutritional yeast, or cinnamon sugar
That's beautiful!. I'll probably mispronounce it but I've made the hot chicken salad with the maifun noodles . I love they way they puff and grow un the oil. Just think of you had Pink or purple rice.
Thank you Emmy we always enjoy your videos. My granddaughter's have helped me pick out a few special items to make during vacation. You always have such wonderful exciting projects for us. These flowers are amazing and would be beautiful as cake decorations.
That’s so fun!! You seem like a wonderful grandma and sound like my mom with my daughter. She cooked and baked with her. My daughter has the best memories because of that. You’re precious to them. Never forget that.
Ma'am emmy I am always amazed to your vids like you are a great chef thanks for sharing your cooking Its so beautiful and also looks yummy as I saw it on the thumbnail... also artistic ❤
Tam would make these when we had company over. She'd also use those to wrap noodles, woodear, pork, shredded carrots & chopped cabbage. Dipping sauce was peanut butter and hosan sauce heated gently. 😋 Thanks Sweetie Tootles... Wade
I LOVE this idea, and I have many thoughts! First thought, if you wanted them frillier, you could use Basmati rice, the longer grains would be more delicate. I'm wondering about food grade color spray, for the petals, to give you more colors for a tasty buffet! Third idea, would they work with color (or not), then a light sprinkle of icing sugar, for a sweet treat? Fourth idea, that a little careful folding and craft, you could make berries or mini flowers to sprinkle for decorations....I'll shut up, soon as I say that I absolutely love your soul, your spirit, your mind, your person.
Look pretty exciting. I feel that if making it for people who don't like flower shapes, perhaps making them oval like eggs might work, although the flower petals are cooler.
Prawn crackers (as we call the ""shrimp chips" here in the UK) are so fun to cook at home, grab a few, toss in hot oil, and a few seconds later and "poof!!!", instant snack!!! :D
I honestly forgot about you because of the algorithm. I don't remember seeing your videos in the recommended until just now. Wow. It's been over a year since I last watched your videos. Glad it showed up.🤗 Wait, I think I remember your channel called "Emmy made in Japan". Maybe that's why I haven't seen you in ages.
Hot tip it all depends on the rice flour to tapioca flour percentage and salt not necessarily the “brand” of which one will be thicker, pliable or brittle. Always best to experiment with what is available in your area. Happy frying 👩🏻🍳🧑🏻🍳
Emmy you should try to make Filipino Sweet Macaroni Salad! I just found out about it and the recipe is really interesting, I would love to see you try it!
I wonder if you took a sharp knife or razor to the papers and made a dozen small cuts, you could probably make some gorgeous daisies or chrysanthemums!
Did you hear that *crunch?! ⚡️ Sour Cream and Onion or BBQ?
Bbq, or Cheddar and Sour Cream.
I'm sure an exacto blade in a pen, can give way more control. They're about $5 the brittle edges look more like ruffles on many petals.
You can get any flavor powder for homemade chips. It would be pretty to put it under foods to serve at a dinner party etc.
I could see these dusted along the edges with some cheddar cheese powder on a paintbrush like a delicate flower. Very interesting. Or some blue pea powder or ube powder. That would be so pretty.
@@amma2x310 I thought cheddar powder lightly dusted on the center could look like pollen=}
Wow! With all those flavor combinations you could make a bouquet of flowers.💐
Thanks for the tip!😊

Oh wow that sounds yummy. I haven’t had Vietnamese food often but when I have it’s always so good.
Sounds yummy! I'll have to look for them.
Mmmmmmmm
I know exactly what you are talking about. I never had it fried though only just raw hahhaa
Vote for this! Amazing and sounds TASTY!
I think these would look gorgeous on a cake or some kind of dessert! But especially like a wedding cake that lacy rustic almost antiqued flower look is just so beautiful!
I was thinking of wedding too. Like maybe a snack in the beginning of the reception before the meal. But on cake is a good idea.
Greasy crispy rice on a wedding cake is one way to ruin it lol
They look like Gordonia flowers - also known as the 'fried egg' tree as the flowers fall face up with white petals and a yellow center. What a fun episode - THANKS Emmy!!
To make the rice paper sheets softer, you can put a slightly wet or damp kitchen towel on some rice paper sheets before cutting them.
A spritz from a water spray bottle works, too.
It looks totally worth the effort though! And it seems totally like the kind of thing to do with friends, so you can all ooh and ahh over the flowers blooming together!
Fun times!
I am a nanny I bet the kids would love it
I recently saw Tasty Japan do a short on these, but there was no explanation, only demonstration. I had no idea what the colored rice was. Thanks for showing me!
You are most welcome!

the way it puffs up an goes from nothing to something is similiar to the way a flower is revealed in timelapse photography.
I love rice paper chips! I never thought to make them flower shaped...
I like to dust mine with popcorn seasoning too 💮
For some reason you always post when I'm having the toughest moments nowadays and you help me so much and I'm so grateful.
Those would be beautiful served on top of a spring garden salad, with spinach and lettuces and herbs and edible flowers. It would be so fun for a spring themed lunch or dinner!
Oh my goodness. You quickly went from they are to pretty to eat, to tearing one apart to get to the middle. I love your videos.
Delicious Rice Paper Flower Garden!!! I enjoyed the cooking recipe Emmy.
You never cease to amaze me with the things you make Emmy 🤣♥️
Thank you!🧡
I do this, without the rice, to decorate pavlova, trifle, & cakes. Very low value & quick, but very impressive looking decorations! No extra sugar, plus texturally interesting - all the wins.
Funny how sometimes the simplest things are the coolest and most fun. Love this. And always love your enthusiasm.
For a sneaky punch of pretty flavor mix a small amount of beetroot powder with white cheddar cheese powder. Pretty pink and oh so tasty!! Cut some thin steaight strips, mix spinach powder and white cheddar cheese powder and glue them on after for stems!!
When you took that first bite, I immediately thought of Munchos. 😃
Your videos always perfectly align with my chill out time ☺️
Yes 🙌 she has impeccable timing!
Me too!!
They are so stinking cute!!! They seem easy.
You could turn them over and season the bottom so it doesn't mess up the look.
So pretty it looks like the shrimp chips that you can fry yourself
I am addicted to these rice paper chips. I put a little bit of salt and dip them in a touch of sweet chili sauce. Heaven in my mouth!!

Also the rice paper tteok works like a charm. I'm obsessed.
Okay I’m ordering two different sized rice paper circles so I can make these with my Small for a back-to-school cheer up!
Love this! I just discovered rice paper items with my air fryer!! Thanks Emmy
Also couldn’t you use an X-Acto knife?
These would look magical as an appetizer on a bread plate at a wedding. So pretty!
I'm always looking for different things to do with my rice paper. Definitely gonna try this. So much more prettier that just making boring 'ol rice paper chips.

"Shake anything on, might look dusty but"
Me: call it pollen 😆🤗
So pretty and cute!!!
I actually like the second way of doing it. The petals turned out better imo
Thank you Emmy we always enjoy your videos.
My granddaughter's have helped me pick out a few special items to make during vacation.
You always have such wonderful exciting projects for us. These flowers are amazing and would be beautiful as cake decorations.
Thank you! And I think that they would look lovely on a cake.
That’s so fun!! You seem like a wonderful grandma and sound like my mom with my daughter. She cooked and baked with her. My daughter has the best memories because of that. You’re precious to them. Never forget that.
I always enjoy your enthusiasm as you're cooking. Great video.
Here I go again, commenting on your tee shirt. It’s comforting and relatable.
My jaw literally dropped when the first one puffed up so beautifully!😍
I look forward to seeing her videos!
Very cool. This would be a pretty edible garnish/table decoration for weddings and parties.
Ma'am emmy
I am always amazed to your vids like you are a great chef thanks for sharing your cooking

this looks pretty, maybe very lightly dust them with powdered sugar to make them a sweet. maybe drain them upside-down to drain more grease?
They remind me of White Crepe Myrtle flowers.
Oh my...these remind me of the orchid corsage I used to give my mom on Mother's Day
So beautifully yummy

I love this. They're so beautiful. Happy spring!
So cool! I wonder what other shapes could be made. Maybe a butterfly?
Ohhhh it’s so pretty, nice crunch too
Wow, that's so cool! Thank. I'll share with my friends.
Gorgeous! Thank you Emmy. Have a good safe weekend🙏🥡
I would love to try that! Thanks Emmy❤
This would look really nice, in my opinion, on top of a leafy green salad. 😊
That is so beautiful!! And I love your shirt!!💓🐝🌻
These are so stinkin cute!!!!!!
These are amazing :) Yes, I heard the crunch. As to the flavors, Sr Crm, Onion or BBQ, the answer would be an enthusiastic "Yes!"
They look so pretty, and the crunch!!!!
Look pretty exciting. I feel that if making it for people who don't like flower shapes, perhaps making them oval like eggs might work, although the flower petals are cooler.
Yummmmmy. I imagine these would be delicious dusted with some Old Bay seasoning.
You could do a video where you try to make rice paper from scratch! Kind of like the boba pearls video.
how neat!
I like this idea, because it’s edible!
So cool 😎 Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪👋🏼
So simple and yet so exotic!
Ooh so pretty. Aah so yummy. Thanks Emmy 💕💕
So beautiful and creative idea! I love the crunchy sound 🔊😋
they are less oily when you pull them immediately after puffing. and i find that it gets stale/ less crispy pretty quickly so you gotta eat them quick
Any ideas for what to do with the leftover bits and trimmings of the rice paper so as not to waste them?
fry them up as well - they won’t look as pretty, but they’re just as edible!
😂😂😂😂

Great to have you back! 🧡 I changed the channel name awhile back, but the content's the same.
@@emmymade Oh hi! Anyways, thank you for your videos. They're fun and wholesome. I think I have some catching up to do.😊
Emmy! You should try making a Chicago style pizza puff! It's like a calzone, egg roll, and hot pocket had a baby! 🤤
Emmy it's absolutely amazing.
Dang it all! I wish I was able to fit fried foods into my calorie budget. These look so fun and so delicious. Thanks Emmy!
So pretty! And looks yummy! Thanks for another vegan recipe😊
Hot tip it all depends on the rice flour to tapioca flour percentage and salt not necessarily the “brand” of which one will be thicker, pliable or brittle. Always best to experiment with what is available in your area. Happy frying 👩🏻🍳🧑🏻🍳
That looks like a superb recipe. And topping wise: sour cream/soft boiled egg/japanese mayo/wasabi mayo.
Oh my Goodness these look Amazing Emmy.
Fancy, pinky-out-style snack!🥺😎💖😘
this looks so easy and I have all the ingredients already, will try this out!
I wonder if you could season it with nutritional yeast? It might look like pollen,
Mmm...tasty for sure.
How cool! Great idea
Emmy you should try to make Filipino Sweet Macaroni Salad! I just found out about it and the recipe is really interesting, I would love to see you try it!
Emmy!! A quick trick to getting rid of the oiliness is to fry them at a higher temperature. They'll puff up faster so keep them moving!
Could you maybe flip them upside down to drain?
I don't cook so I don't know, Lol! 🤭
Omg, it's so cute.😊
Small one is cuter.
Very cool! I am always looking for low carb low calorie snacks. I can't wait to make these with my grandchildren!
This is my favorite thing that you've ever done
i've never clicks on a video so fast lmaooo i've been wanting to try this for so long!!
These would be beautiful to serve sushi on.
Love your videos
Loved watching this video😊
Beautiful!🌼
So beautiful
I miss your real kitchen. It was so calming and nostalgic.
That was such fun watching
I wonder if you took a sharp knife or razor to the papers and made a dozen small cuts, you could probably make some gorgeous daisies or chrysanthemums!
Depression era cooking with Emmy!
I actually found some shrimp chips at Costco. They are pretty good
So cool Emmy love your videos!
Thank you!
