I'm 22 now and the last Rihanna album dropped when I was 15😭. I miss her in my spirit. I guess I was spoiled and I feel like I never really appreciated Rihanna's voice and artistry enough because there was always a period in life when Rihanna was omnipresent. There was always a new Rihanna song and even though I've always loved her, I never really really listened to her music the way I did from when the ANTI album dropped. This Rihanna drought actually hurts, like this is pain. I hate how when she's asked about her next album she keeps on raising my hopes then a year passes, then another one, and then another one again without new music.
I just hope that her next album is the best one she's ever put out (it has to make ANTI feel like child's play) , I hope the lead single is transcendently catchy and she gives the best singing she's ever done on record.
Sorry for the long speech but I just feel like I had to put this out to the world because I love music and Rihanna is one of the pop singers whose songs and style shaped the way I view pop music. I really miss this girl and I can't believe she's now 34 and she's never put out a new album in her 30s🥺
