    Margaret Avery is 75 but looks 45. Gorgeous woman. She was in The Color Purple, Heat Wave, The Set-Up, MacGyver, and many other films and movies.

    Love love love Margerate Avery! She was phenomenal in The Color Purple! The character was riveting beautiful and complex. I always thought she is/was a better actress than Halle Berry. Dont get me wrong i love HB but to me no. 1 Margerate Avery and no. 2 HB. Her character is the epitomy of a strong beautiful woman everywhere. She was the only person who stood up for Celie (Whoopy Goldberg) and saw the beauty in her. I love her to pieces.

    I really don't care what race you are
    As long you are qualified

    • @Apereal14
      @Apereal14 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      irrelevant the series is about recognizing the contribution of pioneers who exemplified that people just like them could also do the job .that's why the list has black is in the title because no matter how qualified someone may have been they'd never receive the chance to prove it as a result of their race people like the ones on this list helped open those doors for others like them and a deserve some recognition.ever disenfranchised or marginalized community should have the opportunity to celebrate their "legends" or pioneers from women, to lgbt community to Asian community to native communitiy etc everyone who usually left out should get the opportunity to shine

      Seems relevant enough to 27 pepole
      Also I can't tell if you are talking about the Early days of film or today
      Because today anybody can do anything
      There aren't really any restrictions at all
      Only qualifications matter

    It's crazy reading the comments lol celebrating someone else doesn't diminish you. apparently celebrating a particular minority group is Some how racist "what if it said white legends :_;" look at most list of legend or trend setters are most of those recognized not white , celebrating a minority group is because they are often forgotten or left out of recognition maybe because a majority doesn't value a minority of maybe becuase a majority can't see themselves in a minority ect. Whatever the case every community deserve to be celebrated and without list like these some would never be and the youth of that community may never know what some who look just like them had done and may never be inspired to do the Same. White fragility is real i see after reading what others have written in this comment section

      T dan You're either playing dumb or you're actually malicious.The establishment is actively trying to erase white culture and European history through various methods.Having a show celebrating "Black excellence" whatever the fuck that means,would be one of the very many red flags

    I see people saying “what if it said white legends”. Well there are already a lot of white legends, Netflix wants to showcase minorities because they didn’t get that chance in the past. White people are still the majority, so I’m just confused about why you’re upset.
