    hey ming! dude I have to say it NICE videos mate simple and awesome always, I´m very happy with the material you gave to us the community
    you know man I have a little problem with sketchup, my pc is a predator with enough aspects to manage the 3d modeling but only sketch up does the fatal error every time I make the model complex and complex with curvy edges and complex furniture etc, can you give me an advice or recommendation because I hate to save every 2 min and lose work very time it cracks, hope to have an answer from you, bye mate!

    • @ArchitectureInspirations
      @ArchitectureInspirations  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you man!!
      Hm that maybe caused by the scene or the materials? The style also affects it too. I would try to turn off edges and make it 1 point. Then it also depends on what your geometry is and if there's too many faces 🤔

    Hello, thank you very much for this tutorial it was very helpful 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I have a question.. in sketchup 2017 when I render and save the image as PNG I still get a background behind my windows unlike your render here where you can add a sky in photoshop.

    • @ArchitectureInspirations
      @ArchitectureInspirations  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah this is because of the glass' alpha contribution. So for some reason the vray new version doesn't automatically set the alpha correctly for glass anymore. So you'd have to go to select that glass material, and go to the material advanced options section -> go to material options rollout -> set alpha contribution to 0 or -1, I still can't figure out the difference just yet but try it and see if it works!

    Hey man i love you tutorial videos. I do sketch and vray designs for events and parties. Quick question 1, Which sites can you recommend i find realistic looking models like bistro tables wrapped with fabric,drapes etc. 2. I have issues on creating realistic grass what do you suggest for that?

    • @ArchitectureInspirations
      @ArchitectureInspirations  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually get my objects from the 5 websites that I listed in the latest video, that's where I get sketchup models. But sometimes people get it from websites for 3ds max models and then convert it to sketchup. Like 3dsky archive3d etc
      For grass, I'd suggest you use skatter plugin gumroad.com/a/672576627
      There's a free version too
      Or you can use photoshop to add in the grass😊

    I have to thank you for making learning enjoyable.Congratulations.I have only one question regarding Ambient Occlusion (AO)pass. Even though I copied the same values and followed the same method as yours,the result was unfortunately different. The image I got was mostly white except few black dots.There wasn't a clear black and white image that could be helpful while moving to Photoshop and applying the overlay.sorry for the long message but it took me much trying to overcome this issue.Thanks in advance.

      Hm got it, maybe it differs with the lighting setup? I have to adjust the settings from time to time too. I guess it depends on the scene? Have you tried higher values?

    hello Dear,
    thank you for your useful tips!
    I don't have Vray UV tools too, but I think this tool comes with Vray 3.6 and I'm still in 3.4.
    One question, for the blend material, how can you control the size of the overlay map if you don't have any texture on your base material?
    like for a car paint, plastic etc.
    For exemple I tried on a lamp with a simple reflective paint.
    when I blend with an overlay I get nothing, because I have to control the map on may lamp, I have to use "projected texture" in sketchup too...
    I tried many different ways with no results, if you have a idea, thank you in advance!!

    • @ArchitectureInspirations
      @ArchitectureInspirations  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't have any base material, you can still select that blend material and increase the sizing in the sketchup material editor.
      If not then you can increase the sizing of just the overlay texture by adjusting the UV parameters under its texture placement. It's a little complicated and things might be a little different in 3.4 🤔

      outch fast answer!!
      I found something, I just used SketchUV plugin, just made a quick UVmap with.
      this UVmap creates a material that you can find in your material Vray asset editor.
      It's strange, I delete the map, I create my car paint with this SketchUV material, then put it back in my blend material, and that works!
      maybe sketchup save the uvmap position of the SketchUV material.
      Then it could be solution to apply blend material on curved surfaces and be able to control the map!
      Thank you for you quick answer, have a nice day!

    I'm having a little problem, when I create the round corner and the texture is not good, I can't find the VRay UV tools option whenever I click with the right button. Is it only for VRay 3.6? Mine is 3.4.

    Hey Pal
    When I blend a material it loses the displacement map (floor joints) from the base material? How do I keep this on the blend?
    thanks in advance!

    • @ArchitectureInspirations
      @ArchitectureInspirations  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hm it should keep the displacement of the base. It only adopt one displacement map I think but it should be there. Did you apply the blend material to both faces of the surface or to the whole group?

    • @aiacs3114
      @aiacs3114 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ArchitectureInspirations on the vray render quick visual on 'floor' in settings, it shows no displacement, but if I click and open the base material the displacement shows up on the visual... Not sure what's going on, I have created it again and it still does the same lol

    • @ArchitectureInspirations
      @ArchitectureInspirations  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I think that depends on how you applied the material. Displacement materials need to be applied to the whole group of geometries
