  • SILT REMOVAL SERVICES
    When organic material (algae, weeds) and plant leaves accumulate along the bottom of waterbodies, it often becomes necessary to remove the formation. That is what we do with our silt removal services. Sometimes there are industrial reasons for removing silt, but it is also important for the health of lakes, ponds and rivers and the good things that live in the water.
    Absent prompt action, silt can also impact water depth, increase flood risks and create foul odors due to decomposition. It can also clog intake pipes and irrigation systems while posing a real threat to fish and other wildlife. Our pond cleaning services can help avoid these issues.
    Using pumps and other resources, American Underwater Services can remove silt from ponds, lakes or other bodies of water. We are also committed to handling projects efficiently, completely and with a keen awareness of environmental impact. We handle the final removal of silt, including the use of on-site solutions that avert the need for potentially expensive off-site removal. We begin any project with a thorough survey that analyzes your situation and the solutions that fit it best.

      I was curious what the plan for recovering an injured/unconscious diver was besides climbing down the intake screens.

    There is a portion of men, and yes it is usually men, that get up every day and do real work and these guys are part of that relatively elite group.

    Looks like a cool job, maybe industries should have high school recruiters like the military does.

      Problem is, most kids today don't want to actually work.. Especially not work that requires effort levels like these jobs do..

    It would be interesting to see the LOTO procedure and ECP for this job. I don't suspect these guys would have any part of it other than verification and placing their personal locks on the gang box, but that stuff fascinates me.

    Good thing we have confident divers like these guys. I'd do anything to not get in that water next to massive intakes and all that machinery.

    • @james94582
      @james94582 ปีที่แล้ว

      So long as it's all been planned and prepped properly... There is no hazard from the machinery/intakes... Just wildlife and any "normal" diving hazards..

    What’s the plan for recovering an injured/unconscious diver? No ladder. No man-rated basket and tugger.

      That’s a good question. We touch on this subject in a few videos. We may have to create one just for this subject

      Yep our divers can’t see half the time so we’re feeling around if it moves don’t touch it. We get bumped all the time
